I just received a PM asking for some more clarification about the drip feed method, and I figured since one person was asking, there are probably others wondering the same thing, so I have posted some more information on drip feeding below:

Drip feeding is a method of delivering content to members of your membership site. As the name implies for this method, you deliver the content (or show the content) to the member a little at a time at regular intervals. What this does is allow you upload all of your membership sites content in advance and then send it out to your members at a predetermined rate – this rate is usually once or twice a month.

For example if you have a membership site and plan to give your members new material two times a month. You would then use the drip feed method to automatically deliver the new content to your members every 15 days (twice a month) starting immediately after they make their first payment.


One of the main reasons for using the drip feed method is that you want every member to only have access to the content they have paid for. Let me give some examples and you pick the one that sounds better for your bank account:

Example 1:
Let’s say you have a NON drip fed membership site and Jon joins in the first month and gets access to month ones content. Then next month Jon continues to pay and Bob also joins your site. Now what has happened is that Jon and Bob both have access to the content for months one and two because they both log into the same members area and access the same webpage, however, Bob has only paid for one month and is therefore getting all of month ones content for free.

Example 2:
Let’s say you now have a Drip Fed membership site and the first month Jon joins and gets access to month ones content. Then next month Jon continues to pay and Bob also joins your site. Now what happens is since this is Jon’s second month, he will receive access to the month two content, and since this is Bobs first month he will only receive access to the first months content.

With the drip feed method, it doesn’t matter when the member joins, they always start out with only the first months content even if all your other members are already on there 6th months content.

With the traditional site in example 1 you will have to create ten times more content to keep the site growing and your members happy.

As far as I understand it, the membership site script itself was designed to work around Cpanel hosts, and so far it has 100%. I primarily use hostgator hosting which has cpanel, however I also have a 1and1 hosting account and I have installed the script on that server with no problem...and 1and1 does NOT use cPanel.

So yeah, as long as you know how your system works, you should be able to get it to install.

As far as the drip feeding method, that can be used on any system and any type of webhost.

Also in my above post, I linked to an installation video, you might want to watch to get a feel for how the script installs.

Verdi - I found the instructions that came with memberfire to be next to useless which is why I give you my own step-by-step instructions in the report. Also there is a video link above that walks you through the entire install process.

I can't stress enough that this script is designed to work with cpanel equipped hosts...it makes installation a breeze.

I just installed the Membership site script on another domain, and it worked perfectly. Please remember that if you simply follow the install instructions and install your script on a cpanel equipped web host, it will work properly.

The script was designed for cpanel hosts and there is no guarantee if it will work on a non cpanel server.

It works best with an autoresponder and that is how I teach it, but you can also do it without, but it is much more labor intensive.

The best way to back up your members info, is to use your FTP Program to copy the members file to your desktop, just do this every so often as your site grows.
