ADDED BONUS: If your product or service has an interesting story behind it- I'll pitch your story to a magazine or two FOR FREE Want to get the word out for just $69? A press release can propel your product or service onto the world stage. You need
You also need a hook. The key is discovering what makes your product, your service or you newsworthy. Did you know?
Who Am I? I’ve been working in media for five years. I’ve written for magazines all over the world, and I know what makes the news. I know how to craft an idea to meet a specific market, and I know how to hook a reader in. I’ve been writing press releases for my corporate clients during this time. I’ve released them in the conventional way- through my own hard won media contacts. Very often they’ve given my clients opportunity to be on Television, in news papers or in national magazines. To give my existing clients a better service I’m now using online PR agencies. As some of my clients are global players, they need a global stage. So, to mark this change I’m offering YOU a GREAT deal. For just $69.00 you get a Press Release written by me, and submitted to free online PR agencies. (My paypal account is rachel@drumedia.com) sample press release: The End of Safe Sleeping for Baby Imitation is the highest form of flattery but could it be fatal? When Miriam van Gisbergen, the Safer Sleep for Babies Campaigner, designed the Safe T Sleep™Sleepwrap® product over 20 years ago, she knew she needed to ensure it would provide the safest sleep possible for a baby. The Sleepwrap is a safe, comfortable swaddling wrap and works to prevent the baby from moving around into potentially dangerous positions, and provides both them, and you, with a secure nights sleep. As a Positive Parenting Educator and Tutor with a Nursing background, her product had to be well respected amongst her peers. Miriam's design has been tested and trialled by professionals and in hospitals and found to be completely safe. The Safe T Sleep Sleepwrap has experienced sixteen years of proven safety in the global market. Over two hundred thousand babies have benefitted from her Sleepwrap, and there has not been one reported injury or fatality during this time. As with any successful design, others have since created copies of the Safe T Sleep Sleepwrap. These designs can look similar but may have minor but key changes that reduce the overall safety of the baby. While Miriam can completely stand by her design, and know it is the best way to ensure a safe sleep for baby, imitations can not provide the same assurance. The Safe T Sleep Sleepwrap is proven to:
Has it been proven to be safe? What sort of testing has been carried out and where? | Hi Rachel I think it may be a request for some press release copy - I guess they didn't catch it in your sales copy. Once question about the example. It's written in the third person which is great and your writing style is quite informal. I wonder, do you ever use quotes in your press releases? As in an interview situation? For example: When asked about safe sleeping solutions, Miriam said, "I would always ask these two questions; Has it been proven to be safe? and; What sort of testing has been carried out and where?" I know that's more 'formal' I'd just like to know how flexible you are. Finally, how many agencies do you submit the release to? Thanks Best Regards Eddie |

Thank you for the pm - that was an excellent example and one which I think many would appreciate seeing. Do you have a website or a blog with that release on that you could link to? If not, maybe link to the actual press release from your WSO. I do think it would show your wider range of capabilities. I have a couple of projects comming close to completion so I will be using your services. Best Regards Eddie | |

Hi Eddie As I said in the PKM, that one was written for a large client who used to through normal media channels- and I think it's not appropriate to "out"myself as writer ![]() but happy to show anyone a variety of styles if necessary I'm enjoying the diversity in writing these releases! ![]() Quote:
