Default OFFLINE POWER TOOLS #5 - Killer tools to unleash a FLOOD of big $$$ offline clients!

If even the idea of cold-calling offline prospects gets you down...
don't quit... just reach for a better tool

"DANGER: Overuse of These Explosive Mailings Could Trigger an Avalanche of Eager Prospects Begging for your Services!"

Cold calling just isn't fun.

I'm sure you, like me, look for any excuse at all to keep from picking up the phone or hitting the streets.

Listen. If you were great at it, you'd be a full-time salesman. I'm right there with you - I'll do it if I have to, but there's gotta be an easier way.

There is.

Grab a roll of stamps and send out some letters. Of course, first you have to write the letters - sales copy... fun, fun, fun. Next the prospects have to open them. Then they have to take the time to read them. With each step, your conversion rate declines.

Maybe letters aren't easy either.

OK then...

Grab a roll of postcard stamps. Make up some postcards and send them out to your prospects. They don't have to open them, and they're super simple to read.

But what should you put on the cards? How can you make them look professional? What should you offer? This sounds hard, too...

Relax.

I've made them for you!

Power Tool #5 - Postcards
(Fully editable layered .psd files )

These postcards are custom designed to speak directly to the desires of business owners. There are three sets for retail business owners and three that speak to B2B business owners.

I've included three different styles as well. I like them all, but maybe you have a favorite. That's OK, because you get all of the designs.

Super simple...

As long as you know or can figure out the basics of editing images, I've set up each of these postcards to make it as simple as possible to make a change when you need it.

But that's not all...

I've also written three different sets of copy for the cards (each style is pre-made with one set of copy, but they're super-simple to edit).

  • One set of copy directs prospects to a squeeze page for a free report for fully-automated prospecting

  • Another set of copy has the prospect call for a consultation (free or paid - your choice)

  • The final set of copy sells the prospect on a seminar (free or paid - I do paid seminars)

That's 3 styles X 3 sets of copy X 2 business types or 18 different versions!!!

Let me ask you a question...

Am I crazy for offering these 18 different postcards for a dollar and a nickel each?

Probably.

But the madness won't last long.

The first 100 buyers can grab these power-packed postcards for an insanely low WSO price starting at $19

FAQ's

Q: Do you include any training?
A: This WSO is for the postcards only.

I do have a free MindMap that outlines my entire offline process.

There are also many offline marketing WSO's being offered right now. I have purchased from Maria and David, but have also heard great things about Andrew's stuff. Alternatively, just search through the main forum. This topic comes up a LOT. Here's a great thread on positioning, for example, that will also help get you started.

Q: Will these postcards work with <INSERT PROGRAM HERE>?
A: I'm not sure. I use Photoshop. I pretty sure that GIMP will open .psd files, but I've never used it. .PSD is one of the standards for editable image files, so I'm sure many other programs will open them. If you can't handle it on your own, assistance can be found here on the Warrior Forum or at outsourcing sites that could do these tasks for a nominal fee.

Q: Are the images licensed for my use?
A: The images are from iStockphoto and will have to be licensed for your use. They average 5 credits each for the "small" size, which is the version I use. These postcards would be classified as "templates" if they made an issue of it, and their pricing for licenses for templates is astronomical. Each image can be easily replaced with any other photo. Of course, the prices on iStockphoto are very reasonable.

Q: What rights come with the package?
A: Personal rights for use with your offline business. Edit at will as long as you're using them for the stated purpose.

Q: How much can I make doing offline consulting?
A: A lot, but it's up to you (see above link on positioning).

Q: What percentage of postcard mailings convert into sales?
A: It's up to you. These tools help, but you have to talk to people to close the sale. My numbers of mailings are too small to be statistically significant, especially considering the variables involved, so it's hard to even pinpoint a number of leads that follow through. It varies. However, one client will pay for a lot of postcards and mailings, so for me it's not an issue.

Q: Can I get a review copy?
A: There's a review copy in the sales copy above. It's just really tiny, so you'll need a big magnifying glass.

P.S. If you think they look good in Photoshop, just wait until you see them on glossy cardstock!

Hi Kelly,

Your postcards look like they would be an excellent addition to
my marketing "tool chest". I just have a few quick questions:

1) Are all of these postcard designs ones that you have tested and
used successfully yourself, or have you designed them based on your
general experience and on your copy writing skill but have not tested
them or used them successfully yourself?

2) You mention that we'll have to buy the licenses for the images
ourselves. That's OK, but do you provide some type of ID # that
would allow us to find a specific image without searching through
a whole category?

3) Do I understand correctly that your 4 videos explaining your sales
process are included with the postcard package?

4) I can't see what the "hook" is on the postcards, but if they offer
some type of free info, is that included or do we create our own?

Thanks a lot in advance for your response.

One of the styles I've used successfully. One is re-vamped from an older postcard I used, and one is a new design. The copy is what I have used in the past.

There are instructions included with the postcards that show the image numbers. Alternatively you could find free images such as those on Morguefile, but for me, iStockphoto is easier.

They are linked within the FAQ above. Just click on the images.

One "hook" is a free report. One directs to a seminar registration. The final action is a call for an appointment/consultation.

Power Tools #2 & #3 would work perfectly with the first two sets of card copy (see my signature). Otherwise, you'll have to use your own stuff.

Great questions.

Hope this helps!

Hi Kelly,

Thanks for your prompt response. Yes, your answers are a great help.
I'll DEFINITELY be picking up a copy of the WSO.

By the way, I tried clicking on the images of the videos like you instructed,
but on my computer they are all static images, no links.
I clicked on just about every part of the images, just in case the
link was area specific, but got nothing.

Hope it's not my computer that's the problem. You might want to check
just to be sure that the links are actually working.

Thanks again.

Yes, you're right.

I pasted them (with code) directly from my Warrior Forum blog - the post is here. For some reason the images pasted and the links didn't carry through. I assumed...

Thanks for the heads-up!

I recently sent this message to my list answering the same question:

Quote:
Q: How much does it cost to do a postcard mailing? How many mailings should I start with, and what kind of return should I see?

A: The response rate varies with the action you want the prospect to take. The lower-risk the action, the higher the response. The highest response will come from directing prospects to a squeeze page for a free report. Next would be the cards for a seminar. The lowest response for me has been from the cards asking them to call for a consultation.

Unfortunately, my numbers are too low to be statistically significant.

I tend to do mailings of 100 for the seminars I do and I always have enough participants to make it worth my while. I do repeated mailings to the same 100 people for a better response. I've had as few as 6 and as many as 18 participants. At the same time I have a small amount of radio exposure, too, so it's hard to say how much of an effect that might have.

For consultation mailings, I tend to send 50 at a time. I do that to control the number of new consultations I have going at one time. I also do repeat mailings to these names (often the same names that I've sent the seminar cards to).

I don't go the "free report" route because I have a higher conversion in face-to-face meetings than I do via email marketing. I'm average at best at building and maintaining a responsive list, so I work around my strengths.

My Postcard Printing | Easiest, Most Affordable Postcard Marketing will do 500 cards (glossy paper, color, two-sided) for $78. My local printer is a little higher than that, but he's referred business to me and I've done the same for him, so I stick with him. If you search a bit, you could probably beat that price - I didn't look much. I always print 1000 because I do multiple mailings.

Postcard stamps are $0.28 each (more expensive than the printing).

A mailing of 50 should be less than $25, total.

My prospects are those companies that are already spending money on advertising (Yellow Pages, Newspaper, radio, television).

Hope that helps!
