I have brought the product and I'm now downloading the software. Unless I'm mistaken I will be slightly restricted coming from the Uk.

Unless there is a system in the Uk similar to the (assuming the book has been exported/printed in the Uk) U.S. in searching the libery directory.

The state of our liberies I doubt very much if we have much apart from the classics.

Unless you've come across this from someone else, will I be restricted to finding and buying the book online.

Good product and informative vids.

This WSO is awesome. I watched the videos, got the program running and literally within minutes I found books that were in the public domain.

My local public library has a website where I can search online to see what's in stock and I found a couple of public domain books in stock. That's a humongous source of completely free public domain content.

The price is crazy. I can't believe such a large database would be available at this price and the videos are like a big bonus with tons of helpful information.

In almost 99% of cases, U.S. government created works ARE in the public domain. (The 1% involves when private contractors are used and retain the rights to the work.)

This is a really great question...and it's a huge amount of content that most people just "fluff off"...

When you consider how many MILLIONS of U.S. taxpayer dollars are spent on "educational" publications, databases, and software each year...it's really a no brainer when it comes to great content.

I'll say from personal experience that you often have to "translate" it just a bit because it sometimes reads like government jargon...but that is great, because your rewrite of the content will be original and provide value.

Here is a cool case study:

NASA creates software to use in house. (It is a government agency in the U.S. for those who are not aware)

Much of this sophisticated software is in the public domain because of the "government works" clause.

One retired NASA employee simply packaged the software onto a CD and now sells it for $295!

Now, couldn't you do that?

He has taken the time to research the software, provide usage and application guides...and has sold this CD for years...for $295.

I encourage you to pick up a copy of the book that is promoted in the WSO in the videos to really get an idea of how vast the Public Domain sphere is... It will be very eye opening!

So if I read that correctly and checked out the site this guy is basically just rebundling a bunch of gov software in the public domain and selling it!!! It looks like no real value is being added. The only thing is that he is advertising/marketing it.

Im responding because I did check out the site. I would not call it unethical to do that because 1 it is public domain and 2 it is a product that is payed for by the US taxpayer.

It does open a door for many possibilities and in fact he is offering a service by marketing/and exposing the software to the average joe.

Depends on how proactive you are on making it work or what you do with the info. Information is just that some people you can turn it into gold and others will just build million dollar dream castles in black sand.

There are many ways to make the information work. I have used the information to help my websites but other than that I will 'not spill the beans' because that is just how good it is. It has paid back 10 fold or more ... hard to measure.

Just to clarify...here is what you get.

1. You get the training videos that show how to find public domain books and exactly how I use the software.

2. You get the software to install on your computer...complete with the entire database of US copyright renewals for all works published between 1923-1963 in a super fast, very specific searchable format. (Most searches take less than 6 seconds...and that is scanning 17 Million lines of records!)

You can use a Public Domain work in many ways:

1. You can publish it as a book...add, change, update, edit, etc. Public Domain is THE easiest way I've ever seen to get started with your own info product.

2. You can publish the content on your website...drip it to your blogs, squidoo lenses, content pages, etc... As long as you find good fresh content in the Public Domain (millions of books are now in the Public Domain), you have a huge resource of content to work with.
