If you use it properly and make the thing that I mentioned attractive, you are practically promised to ease your task of ranking quicker and higher - but if it is not well-done while you shall not lose in the ranking sense but your efforts for that portion would be wasted. But believe me, it makes a significant difference.

I would also recommend that you try to apply it to one of your sites and see the effects, and then add it. That would make even yourself more comfortable !!
