Hi Jack - sure. But I think you need more than just a couple of
paragraphs to see what you're after. So let me give you a
few paragraphs from the Introduction, from Chapter 1, and
from Chapter 13.

[1] From the Introduction

But attitude doesn't exist in a vacuum. It involves other people. And since very few of us read minds, we are forced to actually communicate with one another, by voice, in writing, with audio, video, or in-person, making use of language.

Now people with great communication skills who also learn to talk persuasively make great sales people. And no doubt about it, many sales people, just talking with customers one-on-one, have made fortunes.

The average Joe and Jane, however, don't have such a "silver tongue," and most don’t have the opportunity to sell in the markets (e.g., industrial sales) or in the volumes (e.g., selling soap to wholesalers) to make similar fortunes.

For the average Joe and Jane, something more is needed.

Consider another plausible example: visualization performed by someone preparing for a bowling competition.

She knows she is the one her team is relying on. She is the one who will help her team carry the day if she scores above 200. So she begins to visualize. She isn’t just thinking of everything going perfectly. She is also visualizing the weight of the ball, the slipperiness of the floor and her shoes, and all the many variables that might come into play while he is bowling to perfection.

In her mind there are countless actions and reactions occurring as she bowls in each frame. What happens is not only does she get a credible preview of what it will be like to achieve his goal, but she has also given her mind a realistic vision of what will happen in the competition.

This combination of positive thinking and visualization brings on confidence and the mental vigor and speed to succeed.

[3] From Chapter 13: Using Email to Achieve Better Advantages

Perhaps the most important tool of person-to-person communication is email. Whether you are sending a single email to one person, or broadcasting a message to a list of 10,000 people, the fact is that it goes from your system (outbox or autoresponder) to each person's inbox.
That creates a level of intimate communication that is difficult to achieve in any other way.

Of course – with everyone and "their sisters and their cousins and their aunts" (apologies to Gilbert and Sullivan) blasting out their emails, you have to cut through the noise in order to get that relationship in the first place.

But once done, you have some degree of direct relationship with them.Additionally, we use business email for purposes additional to making our sales pitches.
