1) 1-2 minutes, with closer to 1 being preferable. Most people have an attention span that gets stretched past 2 minutes.

2) No, although I prefer and recommend Camtasia, I give WMM as a free alternative.

To answer Allan's question, I hope that my "what to do"s show what the "not to do"s are. One I would point out now is NOT to create any promotional video without storyboarding and scripting. A wee bit of planning ahead of time makes such a difference.

Yeah, the Twitter, that was a stumble block for me too, wondering who the hell reads all these spammy tweets... so I had a hard time to believe that you could get any traffic from it unless you're some kind of celebrity or guru. But obviously, statistics don't lie... so there is a way to use the Twitter in a proper way to get results. And I'm sure Kevin knows how.

I've found that Twitter tweets work great for driving views at YouTube, sending people over to a blog post, or other such indirect action (not sending directly to a sales page). Of course, it helps if you cultivate your Twitter following. Don't just send your followers to any old shlock.

It's always a pleasure for me to hear. I actually designed Recipe For Video Commercials on our flight to Vienna. Saw a German ad that sparked an inspiration. The ad actually had nothing to do with how the Recipe went, but it got my brain churning.

Funny thing is, even though strategies keep evolving, seems like 90% of what's in that Recipe is still valid. Even better, I still make money off the example video I created for it, LOL, selling tattoo designs. And, the weird comments that video pulls are a source of amusement (some people have strong opinions on women getting lower back tattoos)

The reason I ask this is because I recently purchased a video marketing course, the product owner said the same thing, but inside the course, he uses Camtasia (he did NOT show us how to use WMM to create a video).

I am new in video creation and I do NOT have Camtasia.

If you elect to do voiceovers, you'll use Audacity (free) and they have a Mac version, I believe.

Camtasia has a Mac version. I'm using it today. First time to do on Mac. Takes a bit of getting used to.

Other stuff is all online, so no problem.

I witnessed this over and over with his products, over-delivering is his hallmark. And I am sure this product is no different. Yeah, the Twitter, that was a stumble block for me too, wondering who the hell reads all these spammy tweets... so I had a hard time to believe that you could get any traffic from it unless you're some kind of celebrity or guru. But obviously, statistics don't lie... so there is a way to use the Twitter in a proper way to get results. And I'm sure Kevin knows how.

Without even seeing it, I know it has value. I've never told Kevin this, and over the past three years in moving on to other ventures, strategies and whatnot, the opportunity has slipped by. But 2007 was a great year for me in IM...after many months of a dreaded combination of information overload and ongoing failure, I made my first $$ online thanks to Kevin's old "Recipe for Video Commercials" and was able to finally put many pieces of the marketing puzzle together with his "Money Pumping Oil Wells". Of course time and strategies have evolved, but Kevin helped me finally get the ball rolling. He's a great teacher. Kevin....Now that I have a moment to say it. Thanks, man!
