I've been busy with another project and I just got back to going through the JVPress launch theme.

I wanted to see if I could get it to work with Wishlist membership software for my new coaching program & site I am setting up and it WORKS!

Since I am on a learning curve with Wish List I ALMOST decided to stick with Socrates since I didn't want to take on learning JVPress at the same time.

But after playing around, I saw how easy it is to work with and decided to use it for my membership site (which will eventually have many videos). You can see my first page here:

WOW! Every time I start investigating the features you have available in this theme, I'm blown away by how much it can do -- with just a few clicks!

Here's an example of how easy you've made my life: Up until now, every time I've wanted to post a video longer than 10 minutes (i.e. too long for YouTube), I've had to wrestle with customizing a player that will play my video. I prefer to use mp4 files but can't use them with my current player. So I've had to take the time to convert them into a flv format in order to get my player to embed properly on the page. With JVPress all I have to do is insert the link to my video (as a regular mp4!) and PRESTO!

A video player magically appears! No time wasted with converting the file format and customizing the player.

Then JVPress lets me choose cool features, such as "hide video controls", "show opt-in", "use the facebook commenting app" (which is really cool!), and more things that I am discovering each day. This theme is a tremendous value for very little cost. Thank you!

Did you try and unzip the file? There is no need to. Simply download and save to your desktop or file folder of your choice...then

You need to load it via Wordpress / Themes / Install / Upload.

Ok, I have been creating my own wordpress theme because I thought I would have to wait for this to come after I needed. I was so happy it came earlier than expected.

But...

I don't understand something. For a launch we want to capture emails before access. I don't see how we can prevent access without getting some type of email or allowing access first.

This has some great features, but I like mines better because it does this. However, I got a plug-in to make it happen. I can easily add this plug-in to this theme to do the same, but it defeats the purpose of buying this theme.

Is there something that I am missing? Can this theme prevent access without getting an email first? Or is this something that was overlooked when creating the theme?

I am not knocking it. It is great, just that it is missing one important feature.

Great job overall, just add this one feature. And if it does have it, please tell me where.

Hey Keith, The Mult-Site License can be used on as many sites as you want. I may have said multi-user.....they are Mult-Site Licenses.

So ....yes...you can certainly sell your sites much the same way you would with any other theme.

This theme does it all.

First off...please ensure you are publishing Pages. This is where you will see all of your options
Pre-Launch Pages, Select Menu Items, Social Media Icons, Video etc.

For a LEAD Capture Page / Landing Page.......All you need to do is create the page either through the Standard Default Page....or by using anyone of the Pre-Launch Pages.

A tutorial video on this will be available later this week.

PS: And another thing, I the menus are going vertical instead of horrizontal taking up too much space above the fold.

That's because you need to set the menu's up in the Menu Section.
Then simply select whether you would like them to show via the Check Box
when you are publishing Pages.

PSS: And another thing, in the footer, the menu is right up against the left side of the header.

Again, all you need to do is set up your Menu Options.
I usually create 2.

1. I Label "Top Menu"
2. I label "Footer Menu"
...add your titles / links and your set.

---then simply select if you want them to show or not when you are publishing pages.

There is no need to get into the appearance or editor...unless you want to customize.

Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. I still don't get the landing page but will be waiting for the tutorial video to check it out.

If interested, the plug-in that I used to handle not allowing access without a email opt-in was "token access" which can be found in the wordpress plug-in directory. It uses cookies and is an awesome plug-in that is easy to customize for what we want. I only mention it because if you do have the time (and I think you have way more than what the price is already) doing some cookie type of access/non-access like this plug-in would be great for your theme buyers.

Anyway.... will standard wp plugins conflict with the back bone
coding for this theme?

What about premium plugins - ie: Robert Planks Action Pop Up/
Comment plugin?

I understand this is primarily a multi-media "page based" theme.
However, I also noticed you also have mentioned you can set up
a page for posts.

Is it possible, or will it be released - that a standard posting platform
with categories will also be included with this theme at some point?

It seems like this would be a useful feature, especially for CPA or
affiliate marketing within a specific niche, where several categories
of products are being offered.

(As well, with a launch - categories, ie: "pre-release buzz",
"discover more" [launch vids here], "Q & A", "Contest" [ways for ppl to post
and be eligible for 2 free give-aways etc], "Free Downloads" [software, PDF's etc.]
where several posts could be make for each category, would all be useful in the launch process.)

Personally, I've been frustrated when arriving to a "launch process" late to the party,
and have to dig around to find all the stuff that has gone on before. I can think of
several launches recently, that were a real mess, trying to back-track to get
what it's all about.

Or... for SEO, is it better to just have pages for each of, what would be
categories - in the standard "posting platform set-up", and create them as
menu tabs for pages? (Even though - technically, with a launch SEO isn't necessarily a
priority - however for CPA or aff. mktg. it well could be.)

Obviously mine isn't anywhere near an official response, but I installed yesterday on a couple of different domains, both of which had a mixture of free/premium plugins installed.

The only one that caused a problem was on one of my domains I had the official MailChimp plugin installed/active - as the functionality for MC is built in to JVPress, deactivating the MailChimp plugin fixed the issue and no functionality was lost from my site.

i have installed it successfully and it is great looks fantastic, but can you change the colour themes, I cant seem to find a style sheet I want to change the font colour and also the theme colour

HI Kara! ,

The theme should integrate with all plugins with no issues. However,
if you are using plugins for your Autoresponder that could present a conflict with
our Built in integrations.

We were made aware of one conflict with a Mailchimp Plugin which is an
Email Service Provider..

As of right now you can certainly make standard post pages, or standard Page's. We will be adding some more functionality to the posts options in the future. You can also use standard Wordpress Sidbar widgets in addition to our pre-loaded widgets in which you could display
"Categories"
"Pages"
insert a "Text Widget" and put your own optin codes, embedd codes, Affiliate offers etc.

...basically any of the pre-set widgets will work!

I understand. This is one of the reasons we developed the theme to be a Universal theme that could not only be used for Product Launches but any style marketing / website you would like that is Multi-Media driven

As far as SEO there are many things that you can do. One of the fundamentals with SEO is to have clean coding on your site. More than anything Google like clean code. The JVPress Theme is simplistic in the admin area....but we have a lot incorporated behind the hood...including awesome codding.

My point is....typically....posts seem to do generally better with Wordpress and SEO, However, with this Theme Pages will Rank Nicely provided you implement standard On page SEO techiniques ( Anchor Text, Titles, Images etc)

At the end of the day...the JVPress Framework provides you everything you are a custom to with Wordpress....just a new platform to Drive it

2. Configuring your Menu Items (The Links at the Top of the Page ...just below the Header)
3. Configuring your Footer Links.

4. Creating a Static Landing Page

...all of these are easy to do...and only take a few minutes to implement

HELP!!! Sean I purchased JVPress but when I entered my order ID it would not generate a license key. It gave me an error message and asked for a domain, but there was no place to insert a domain.

Aside from that I purchased a Multi-Domain License so no domain is needed. Can you help me out?

Just bought it and downloaded.
Want to make multiple sales pages for multiple products frpm one site. Playing with different plugins(Nearly all the premium sales page plugins) and themes. But not satisfied.
This theme looks promising from the video.

Before you buy JVPress read this!

I just wanted to share with everyone a few things about this theme. First off I had an issue with my order number spitting out the license key.

And as soon as I posted the issue here Sean was all over it making sure that I was taken care of.

Next I had a issue with my installation - I had a nagging plugin that caused all sort of havoc with the theme.

I could not figure out what was going on. So I decided to send a support email expecting it to take a day to get an answer...

Not the case, Sean instantly jumped all over it and even offered up his help in looking in to the problem on my site.

He went into my site fiddled with it for a few and quickly figured out what the issue was and even installed a page for me while he was in the site.

Now I don't know about you, but I don't think I have EVER had that kind of customer service and support from ANY theme developer out there.

BIG TIME KUDOS to you and your team for going above and beyond to not only deliver an incredible product BUT more importantly in providing 5 star service!!

You Rock!

P.S. If your on the fence about making this incredibly inexpensive investment for this theme, Get off the fence, take the clamp off your wallet or purse, pull out your credit card and make the investment. I assure you, you'll be happy that you did.
