Maria - looks fantastic as usual, but one quick question I didn't see mentioned anywhere. Can communication with clients be done via phone and email or are in person meetings necessary to pitch or close these deals? Starting out is getting letterhead and business cards essential to be taken seriously by prospects? You'll hate my answer - "it depends" (such a consultant answer eh) - Why? Numerous reasons: A. A very VERY effective and LUCRATIVE strategy is being BOLD and assertive - and more PERSONAL - say after you meet someone and they express interest in meeting you for more info etc. (it's called BAMFAM - book a meeting for another meeting) when they ask for your business card...well - don't they already have a TON of business cards? so a BOLD answer is: Well, Mr Prospect, I actually don't carry business cards and here is why, I prefer to get more personal...do you have a cell phone on you? They 99% of the time say yes. You say: Well let's exchange numbers right now on our cell phone, that way when you call me, I'll know it's you, and vice versa....because your name is now programmed in my personal phone... and you don't have to worry about finding my business card amongst many others. ** THIS WORKS! ** and you impress them- Now if your target market is more 'corporate' or Fortune 500 flair - then yes - you should have a letterhead and biz card - a bit like 'mirroring' your client and your title should be VP or Partner or Executive etc. for that market.. e.g. - a VP of Marketing want to talk to a VP of Marketing or higher level Unfortunately we live in a 'perception is reality world' Note- alternative to biz card is use a postcard to hand out instead with a great call to action on it- or scarcity deadline- etc (that's covered in my offline postcard profits wso) *** To your question 2. Or are other ways provided to help establish credibility to the prospect that I am someone they would feel comfortable doing business with? Heck yes! first of all - kinda as I mentioned in the audio of this wso - you were born with 2 ears for a reason - to listen - Ask probing questions and let them talk "What are you doing right now to promote your business online?" when they answer ask further probing questions "How's that working for you" etc. "What's the lifetime value of your customer" - selling the ROI - my WSO on that slick software tool is here *** NOTE_ Getting a book published on AMAZON is KILLER -that is instant credibility... one business prospect I met in Chicago a while back, he was a major executive of a big fortune 100 client.. When i said i have a book published on AMazon "21 Ways to Promote Social MEdia".. He replied, I'm not sure if I can afford you. Seriously! - that is covered in my Get Published Get Clients WSO *** other credibility ways: tons - you can give them case studies, whitepapers, JV with someone as an 'endorsement' give them a fREE consult to establish you are good etc. I"m leaving out probably 100 other ways!! Did you notice something - I never mentioned website did I - I did that on purpose- you don't have to have one to get clients! many of my students still don't and they've pulled in over $100k easily,,,,even taking down $25k contracts!!! Now i do think you should get a website / facebook biz page/ twitter / youtube/ linked in - just don't let that stop you! Make sense? Cheers, Maria | |

Maria & Tina, I am still taking a dep breath. Just finished going through all of the material and am very impressed. My area won't support the prices you are talking in the presentation but they will support the services so it is just a matter of patience and time.
