Wordpress CSV Uploader Plugin

Hello,
I've just finished creating a new version of my wordpress plugin that allows you to take a spreadsheet containing Thousands of products (eg an affiliate network data feed), and to upload it to your website/blog in seconds.

The plugin creates a post for each product, with a title, description, image, the price, tags, and a buy it now button that contains your affiliate code.

It will also assign the posts to the category/categories that you select at the same time.

There are 2 versions of the plugin:

1) the free version which doesn't support tags and adds a link in each post to the plugin homepage.

2) the premium version which does support tags, and doesn't add the link.

The instructions for the plugin are in the downloaded folder, and I WILL be updating my video tutorial shortly.

Right now you could download the free version (You need to fill in an Aweber form, but I will delete everyone who signs up over the next couple of weeks - so you won't get pestered by me)

You could buy the premium version. I have set up an affiliate scheme, and you can get 50% off the price, so if you want a copy you can use the affiliate scheme and save 50%.

It's normally $39.99, you'd get it for $19.99

I'm back now, bright eyed and bushy tailed after a few hours sleep, so I thought I should expand on what the plugin will do for you.

I've been creating big affiliate sites - not sites with a handful of links or banners in them - but more like a superstore with over 10,000 affiliate products, each with it's own page in it's own section.

You can see 2 at diamondnecklaces.org.uk and platinumring.org.uk

Both are based around the same template, and the great thing is that with the size of the site, all of the links from the breadcrumb etc, both rank on page 1 of google UK for their main keywords.

The diamond necklaces site is 2nd if you search for "diamond necklaces" and the platinum ring site has just jumped to 9th for "platinum ring" - and I'VE DONE NO LINK BUILDING OR OTHER SEO ON THESE SITES from the minute they were launched.

BOTH OF THESE SITES TOOK LESS THAN 1 DAY TO CREATE FROM SCRATCH!

So you could easily get great results much faster than I have.

The best commission I made was from the diamon site - £390 (over $500) from ONE sale.

This is clearly because diamond necklaces are VERY expensive - and that's where you can make a lot of money with this plugin.

I recommend that you choose a domain with good keywords in it, for medium to high value products, then put up a very focused site with that product on it.

The great thing is that although it's taken a few months for both of these sites to get to page 1, the sheer volume of pages on the site means that you'll get picked up for long tailed searches too, and will get visitors for them.

If you've ever read Chris Rempels "lazy affiliate" stuff - then I think that this plugin can do what he's talking about.

People making long tailed searches for products, especially where it has brand names, product numbers, etc in it are probably already decided to buy, and are shopping around, so getting them to your site for those searches is not a bad thing.

Anyway, the bottom line is that if you create a site with thousands of products on it you'll get picked up for long tailed searches, and eventually will rank for more generic searches too.

The plugin can handle a spreadsheet with well over a thousand lines of product, and will create a page for EVERY one of them in under a minute (depending on the speed of your host).

I think it's a great time saver and will make you money.

It's certainly made creating affiliate sites a whole lot easier and much more fun!

Hi cybersky - many affiliate networks allow you to download a spreadsheet of products - for example, I use affiliate window mainly, so I go to the datafeed section, select the merchants I'm interested in, and download a csv.

That csv has all of the products the merchant has to offer, the image location (images are pulled from their site to save your bandwidth), your affiliate code etc.

All you do is trim out the columns that aren't needed, trim out the products that you don't want, add the categories, add the tags, and upload it.

If you had say 8000 products to upload you could have 8000 product pages created in minutes.


KBoot2000 - the free version does exactly the same as the premium version, except:

1) It won't support tags. Not everyone uses tags, but I think they help with SEO and are a good idea to use.
2) It adds a small link under the buy button that points to the plugin page.

If you can live without tags and with a small link then it'll do fine for you, but if not at least it gives you the opportunity to try it out and see whether it's for you or not.

PS Cyberskyfox - yes, you can use microsoft excel.

A csv is just a form of spreadsheet - just remember to save it as a csv not as a xls file.

Does the paid version come with a installation manual and which companies offer Data sheets for their affiliates. I have the free verison so I can try before I buy. It didn't
have installation manual.

Hi Guys,
I'm sorry, I've been very busy and didn't seem to get any form of notification of new questions - I'll be sure to come by and check every day.

So, to answer the questions:

1) Yes, if you sign up via your own affiliate link, then I'll pay you the commission on it. EJunkie seems to only allow payments to be made at the end of the month - I tried to pay a couple of people, but it won't allow it, so I'll pay as soon as is possible.

2) Tags are just a way that Wordpress groups posts together. You can do this with categories, but the tags system groups posts too, rather than being from the menu system, etc, it's by keywords that you assign to each post.

wont posting thousands of products in seconds throw up red flags on google. how do you build a new site using your plugin?

do you suggest adding a few products at a time or have you fully populated your new sights and had them rank and stay?
