Elizabeth did a great job on my sales letter after she figured out exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a very bold, to the point letter that brought the "wow" factor. She delivered!

This was my first time hiring a professional copywriter and I will definitely do so more in the future. I had to edit the letter some to make it more "me" and to apply proper formatting but it will definitely work for me.

Approximately how long is your salescopy?

Hi Bizbooks,

thanks for your question.

About length... It depends a lot on what the copy is about. I make it as long as
is needed to make it work well. Generally, that comes out to about
2,000 to 2,500 words, give and take a few hundred words. I can do longer letters
as well, and I will, if the material calls for it, though to be honest, at the moment at
least, I prefer slightly more focused and compact letters within the above range.

Also, if the letters get a whole lot longer, I'll have to charge extra. (I have written
letters that are two to three times the above length, but they take a lot longer to
write).

BTW, the numbers above do not include the testimonials and such. Those
get added on to that (and would be supplied by you).

Also, this is provided you give me enough to work with ;-) There is such
a thing as diminishing returns if I go on and on without compelling reason
to do so! I prefer to avoid that... Some things are better served by shorter copy.

It's a bit like I used to tell my students -- I don't grade by the pound. If they did
research papers in linguistics (on their own experiments and studies), the length
depended a lot on what they wrote about. A statistical analysis on the use
of something would require fewer pages to explain than an analysis of a piece
of text or conversation, for example.

So when I write copy, I don't aim to achieve a certain word count but to accomplish
what it takes to make your sales page work.
