Angela, hi, apologies in advance if the questions I am about to ask have already been answered, I trawled through quite a few of the 51 pages in this thead but admitted not all of them.
Two things that I am trying to get my head around: 1. The authority sites are clearly well ranked but how can you achieve link power from internal pages that have no PR themselves? 2. I am not sure how many people subscribe to the packets but guess it is a fair number. Wont Google devalue a huge number of links coming from the same sources? Thanks in advance and hope things improve for your husband.. Regards, Bagless |

I love these packages but i do have a question. i started October's package and from the first 10 sites I tried I had 5 that would not allow me o have changed their page. I will probably go through all 30 by tomorrow, anyone else having issues? it might just be m,y timing.

nope same here I think these links are passed out to others before they reach us and that's the problem. I just finished my last one now and had around 6 that didn't work. It's still worth the money in my opinion. I went from 11 million on Alexa to 7 million in just 2 days after doing the links. I'm hoping these new links will get me even higher.
I've also did this for one other site and it had a bigger jump from 26 million to 17 million. |

I finished the packet and 9 sites didn't work or are moderated. The first link got deleted after one hour since I posted the link.

I posted the same reply on Paul's thread, but I am not sure which is getting updated more frequently and I really want to hear from the proverbial "horse's mouth."
I am an OLD SCHOOL SEO, which means I have many, many years of hands-on experience. I have seen EVERYTHING possible with regard to link building and taking shortcuts to inflate PR quickly. Sadly, all of them have one thing in common: Google killed them. 1. Do you think that one of Matt Cutts' team members has already signed up for your "service" and is now sitting back and logging all of the websites you are disclosing in your packets? Do you think it would be easy for them to also log all of the websites with links from these websites? 2. What do you think will happen to your website and all of the websites that are using or are included in these packets? I could tell you what I think will likely happen, but I would like to hear what your experience has been thus far and perhaps, why you think this tactic will not get any of the participating websites into trouble (penalty, red flag, banned). Sorry for sounding a bit harsh with my line of questioning, but I am one very JADED SEO and I hate seeing things like this that come and go, leaving nothing but a wasteland of banned websites and upset webmasters and business owners--who didn't know any better--in their wake. Thank you in advance for your candid answer(s). |

If Google was worried about people getting their own backlinks, all of this stuff would be shut down or "devalued", ESPECIALLY Social Bookmarking. As it is, people were "predicting" this same thing about Social Bookmarking two years ago, and when I started my program over a year ago, I had folks who wouldn't TOUCH the Social Bookmarking sites on my list. And yet, people today are using Google's OWN advertising program to advertise Social Bookmarking software and services on Google's own index!! Take a look: Social Bookmarking. Obviously, BIG BUCKS are being spent to advertise this stuff. Google knows that it can't actually tell who's doing external backlinks and it was Google who created the "links are king" algorithm. If external links someday become harmful to one's site, then competitors would all be doing backlinks for their competition, to get them dropped. Here is what Matt Cutts says about a link scenario that is supposed to be harmful to one's site: Stephan Spencer: Great. How concerned are you over the tactic of aggressive link buying to competitors' sites in order to take down competitors? How long, do you think, it will be until competitors start taking each others' sites out in Google with aggressive link buying? Matt Cutts: I do not think a smart competitor will even try that second one because they would be more likely to help. The thing is, we are very aware that site 'A' could buy links to site 'B', and then spam-report site 'B' and try to frame site 'B'. So we try very hard, in all of our spam techniques, to make it so that one site can not sabotage another site. Interview with Google's Matt Cutts at Pubcon So yeah, you can join the "the links might someday be devalued" camp just like folks did two years ago about Social Bookmarking. It's up to you. I am going to use what works. It's actually a few website owners who 'devalue' the links on their own sites due to abuse of their sites by some spammers as opposed to anything Google is doing.

As far as the other question, I keep on saying it and folks keep on being given misinformation by others about it, which causes panic: If Google was so worried about MY little program, why aren't they shutting down "do follow" blog lists, the Wordpress "Keywordluv" Plug In, and Social Bookmarking sites. After all, MILLIONS of people are using such tools, as opposed to my relatively small group of subscribers. If Google was worried about people getting their own backlinks, all of this stuff would be shut down or "devalued", ESPECIALLY Social Bookmarking. Besides, if you noticed, I included a few more of the types of sites that only take a link this time around and that is because those sites ASK for your URL. If they not only allow it, but provide a space for it marked "Your Homepage", I really don't see how they can complain about people putting their links there, do you? There's no way to abuse these sites.

Despite this, I am still hopeful.
I still feel as though I'm being impatient, yet I'm seeing no movement. I'm going to use the new packet for 30 (or however many sites work) to see how well it does. My first article is still on page 10 All the other articles... no where (2 are on page 1 and 2, but only in quotes) |

I would say maybe 1/4 of my links have been indexed so far.. maybe a little less since a few of them were indexed, but have since been de-indexed and never appeared again. (the profiles are still there, i checked, but the site doesn't count as a backlink anymore)
Anyway.. is there anyway to get profiles indexed faster? does pingomatic help at all? PS. some of the PR8 & PR7 sites are working great though, being indexed very fast, and are definitely counting for a lot of my SERPs rankings. |

Angela one question, should I use 2-3 keywords for each packet or can I just use one? I really would like to use just one to focus in on my mian keyword but don't know if it will be penalized.
By the way great information on your reply regarding the linking process, makes a lot of sense. |

My site is finally ranked #19 for a very competitve term, the competition for this term is brutal. Everyone is after this term.
I am pretty sure that I can push it to the first page using Angela's link ,however there is one potential issue for me, maybe I am just being paranoid. In Yahoo site explorer and backlinkwatch.com , people can easily see that there are a lot of profile pages linking to my site. Kinda scared that my competitors will report my site to Google if I make it to top 5 for terms for the term which is very competive . Thoughts? Thanks |

You can certainly focus on only one keyword; that's a great way to do it...focus on one thing until it's where you want it. Intelligent way to do it, if you ask me.

When it comes to backlinking, a whole lot of misinformation seems to get passed around. I am not sure why that is. There are really easy ways of checking whether links are No Follow or not. If anyone has a question, all they need to do is use one of the methods. I use the Firefox Plug In that highlights No Follow links.
