I see the original post was a year ago.

I wonder how much work it takes to keep these terms on the first page of google for a competitive term like you used as an example.

The terms do have good traffic but your site is no longer anywhere near the first page any longer.

You gave the example:

SEO Training Alliance

Ranking on page 1 for the terms:

learn seo

seo techniques

You do not rank even in the top 100 for either of these terms now.

Very interested to learn why because if I use your techniques and then my listings don't stick what's the point?

If you're going to do all this extra work, why not do some constructive testing while you're at it? See how much weight is given to CONTEXTUAL Links within the content for relevant value that matters. Make sure the page is linked to the home page otherwise the links will be ignored.

Are you talking about linking the comment/profile/blog page that you put on the edu site to link to the edu sites home page also?

I think this is what you were talking about but I would like you to tell me if I'm wrong.

I'm just learning this and I have bought some edu backlinking wso's and from what I've read if you get a pr7 edu backlink it doesn't mean that you will get all that "weight" because your page or profile page that you are linking from won't have the same pr as the home page of the edu site.

So people are selling the edu sites as high pr but my links may not have all that weight. I'm wondering if your techniques (if i'm understanding it right) would give me that weight.

So I would put up a profile page or blog page or comment somewhere on the edu site and then link back to my site and link to the home page of the edu site.

Please let me know if I'm on the right track.
