Yes, there are some reviewers who looks like they are reading from a script...because they are. From my perspective, a review should not look too polished.

If if were just a John Q. Public consumer looking for one of the products covered on these videos and noticed the reviewer is reading, I may just as easily conclude that the person is reading because they didn't want to forget mentioning anything. I do not believe this affects the credibility of the review to any significant degree. Its much more important that the features of the product is covered accurately. One slip up on this and credibility goes straight to hell in short order.

When you consider that untold millions is spent world wide on TV commercials and every viewer knows:

1. The people in the commercials are actors.

2. They are paid to say what and how they are saying it (Big Satisfied Smiles, etc).

3. They have no idea if what they are saying is true regarding the product.

4. They only care about their check clearing.

And consumers still buys the products advertised in droves! These videos will get the same consideration from online viewers as TV commercials do from TV viewers I firmly believe.

Just one question. That girl who talks about the camera, the first thing I noticed is that she is reviewing a camera but obviously she does not have it since she is not showing it. If people are going to look at a video review, wouldn't they want to see the product? Or are those videos just purely for video marketing?

Just took a quick look at one of the videos and it looks like I can give my sites a jump start while I work on doing some of my own Reviews and getting traffic.

However, when a friend or acquaintance is telling me about a great piece of electronics, a book, software, etc they like, they often don't have the item on them because we are in a meeting room, cafe, etc. I think the fact that the reviewer doesn't actually have the product on hand will only matter to a few viewers.

Not enough to render the videos ineffective.

Plus it would cost Calvin a small fortune to buy all 40 products just so they can be handled by the reviewers.

What really matters is the visual enthusiasm of the reviewer and accuracy of their product descriptions over I believe.

Actually you do have a good point here. Maybe those actors should be doing the video from their phone or pretend they are doing it from their phone, starting with something like "I was just telling my mate in the office about that great product I got...." because then it is more likely you are not carrying the product with you... Just a suggestion... but I love this wso concept at a very good price.

Just one thing I don't quite understand. If 200 copies of these are being sold, and assuming a fair number are posted to YouTube, what's to stop others from using the same videos? Or to put it another way, why wouldn't I just use the videos already posted on YouTube. What benefit do I get from "buying" them? (other than being able to edit them, which I probably wouldn't do anyway).
