actually the PR is more for backlinks. If you have a very unusual story that will draw a lot of attention to your site/biz, then a PR is excellent for immediate traffic.

but if your story is just a typical story, with nothing "unusual" then a PR is good for longterm backlinks and SERP's rankings.
