Also.. I noticed that caffeinated content (I guess your competitor? lol) has a badwords.txt which auto-deletes comments with swearwords, which looks pretty handy.. do you have that or will you be thinking about getting that.. Although now that I've typed this far, I'm thinking you might not even need it with yours - If it only selects the "best comment" as the "answer" then it wont (or you wouldnt expect it to) have swearwords anyway so you might not have the same problem as that other software.. ladeda.. time for bed me thinks..

As you mentioned, because it only retrieves the best answer, it's only a slim chance of bad words appearing.

But my WP VideoTube plugin has a feature to filter from YouTube video comments retrieved. It uses the built-in WP "Comment Blacklist" feature but it retrieves up to 25 comments, so having a filter is necessary.

If customers feel WP answers requires something similar I'll add it.

It is a great script and working fine for me. I have few questions please
1/ Script is taking only one comment for every post. Now I have over 200 post since I bought this script and every post has one comment. Is there any setup in the script that we can set to import all the comments from that Yahoo Answers thread? Visitors to my site might be wondering why do I have only one comment in each post.

I did not see any link back to Yahoo Answers. Is there any setting which we need to make to link back to Yahoo?

1.) As mentioned it retrieves only the "best answer". Many of the answers are given are not good and promotional, which is why I just opted for retrieving the best answer.

If enough customers want the option of retrieving ALL comments, then I'll add it.

2.) The link back is on the plugin config admin page. But the next version will give the user the option of also adding to the blog front-end (footer).

Thanks for your response.
It will be a nice feature for the next upgrade if there is an option to choose how many comments (or all) we want to import. Or may be some kind of random results. Each post has different number of comments.
Currently it seems that our blog is using some kind of auto script to post these threads as all threads have only one comment. Script is humanized but it is not really humanized for the visitors. I will request if this feature is added in your next upgrade please.

I think it's fair to say, it's unusual to have questions with exactly the same amount of answers. So it should retrieve random results anyway, but once the new version is released if it needs tweaking. It will be done!

I've asked my programmer to add the following:

- Comments: [best answer only/all answers]

- Yahoo answers region selection (language)
- Attribution "Powered by Yahoo! Answers" in footer (front-end).

I've just released a new version, which now gives you three options:

Not to display the Yahoo attribution.
Text only - Non-clickable.
Text with link - clickable link.

So yes it's completely compliant with Yahoo Answers api tos.

Please note: this version will only work with Wordpress 2.7.

You don't set actual dates, you enter either daily or hourly per keyword.

So for example if I enter [5] days. It will retrieve a new question every 5 days, so providing the keyword has enough questions at Yahoo. It will continue to post until you either pause the keyword or it runs out of questions. And you can setup multiples of keywords all running at the same time.

Wordpress 2.7 itself has different code which caused formatting issues on the plugin settings page, so along with the new features the plugin was tweaked so it displayed correctly in 2.7.

I know some people are still using older WP versions, which is why I'm including both 1.0 and 1.1 versions. But to use the most recent plugin features you must be using WP 2.7

I've not found any issues using 2.7 myself, unlike after upgrading to 2.5 when it was released. So unless you are using other plugins that 100% won't work, I would try upgrading to 2.7.

In the pdf user guide, I link to a free plugin which will help you upgrade semi-automatically in 5 steps so it's super easy.

I'm pleased you like my plugins!

I have one blog in particular that is now running both plugins and I have a very broad run time on each keyword setup.

My YouTube plugin on some keywords is running every 7 days, other keywords have a gap of up to 25 days. The keywords I want to target more are set to run more often.

WP answers is currently running every 3 days as I want to target very specific keywords, while I'm using the 2 plugins I'm also mixing in the occasional unique article as well. I also setup specific categories for every keyword/phrase setup.

I would like to make one suggestion for the ext upgrade perhaps. I like to setup a new blog fully automated on one day and than move on to the next blog. Setting up several keywords (sometimes up to 100) with different posting frequency always results with the first post made instantly. This results in my new blog showing many posts made all on one day which of cause a normal blogger would not do.
Could you modify the script so that the first post is done in x amount of days as set in the post frequency when setting up a keyword?

hmm.. this is actually my concern too when i have a number of keywords for the WP video plugin and i didn't want all keywords to start posting on the same day. so i had to do it manually myself and setup the keywords on different days to randomized them a bit.
it will be great if we can have the settings to select the date then we want the first post to start posting based on the frequency we set out. then this plugin ill be perfect and awesome!
and i will be buying this plugin soon coz i have the WP video plugin and i like it!
i am currently using cc plugin too but there are some issues and the scheduling of the posts did not work for me. i will try out this based on the great feedback here!

i have just purchased and am very impressed with the tool (better than caffeinated content IMHO) . btw is the function to post the first keyword result at our own preferred date ready yet? coz i can't see that in the latest version?
also, i noticed that the settings page in the latest WP 2.7 version doesn't allow us to see the total posts retrieved, the next run date, etc in both WPVT and WPYA. as previously we can see these stats in WPVT.
are these something to do with WP 2.7 settings or i should go to some other page to see them?

this is definitely a very great plugin to use and with the features to be added soon, if combined with WPVT, these two plugins if use together will made a damn fantastic tool for anyone who like to add some automatic content to their blog rather easy.

personally, i think your tool's features are way better than one which i am currently owning and is facing some problems. i seriously feel that you should do more promotion on these two plugins and maybe packaged them together and sell as a bundle as a WSO in your next release. you will definitely see more sales!
can't wait for the next updated version to be released....

btw, i would like to implement some local yahoo answers (Yahoo Answers from Singapore) on a topic which is causing quite a buzz in our local community for a few weeks now.
