This question might seem a bit naff, but that's never stopped me! ![]() I like Wordpress-powered sites with the date function removed, actually. So that it's more like a "timeless" static site. Is there some other internal thing-a-majigg in WP that can still tell what the date is for post(or, I see, even pre-)-dated posts? In short, if I remove the post date function, will that render this plug-in useless? Cheers, TheNightOwl P.S. I love the fact that I can add HTML formatting to my txt articles and it'll import and format them including links! Sweeeeet! |

@TheNightOwl - the ability to remove and add the date is a function of the template. You can remove it by modifying your template. Making a change and removing the date from the template will have no effect at all on this plugin. Let me know if you have any other questions |

its my understanding that we upload the articles we want scheduled into a special folder. We then select the category that we want the articles posted to. Do we upload the articles through ftp and then have to remove them when we schedule the next set of articles for another category? Or do we upload them through the wp plugin admin in a zip file? When we schedule the next set of articles for the same category that previous articles are scheduled for do those start getting posted on the date set or will they get added to the end of previously configured articles for that category? Using ftp or cpanel upload is easier for most people so far when it comes to uploading multiple files at once. After you import some articles to one category it will not automatically find the last article and start posting from there. It will start posting from the date you tell it to start from. You will need to either put the start date as the last article date in the category in the admin menu or upload all the articles at the same time. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Looks like a great product and HUGE time saver! I just picked up a copy and can't wait to start using it. A quick question though, and I think I know the answer but just want to confirm; After I import the articles, can I remove the plugin? It looks like after the articles are scheduled to post that is the end of the plugins use. I would only want to do this if I am flipping a site so I am not giving the plugin to the new site owner. Thanks again, Greg |

Thanks for the question greg. YES you can remove the plugin after the articles are imported and everything will work the same. The plugin onloy does the importing. Let me know if you have any other questions and good luck with your site flipping. Quote:

can you upload a batch of articles on one topic for one category and then another batch for another category, and will they intermingle when they post? say you set them both the post every 2 days, but set them up to start on different days ~ will you then have posts posting every day ~ in two different categories? Thanks, Jackie (I too have an expensive plugin that is supposed to do this, but I've never been able to get it to work) |

Just wanted to say that I paid full price for this plugin a couple of weeks back and it is worth every penny! Being able to get the PLR off my hard drive and onto my sites all scheduled up is brilliant. The only thing I've had to do is go through and edit some of the posts where the PLR file wasn't set up quite as it should have been. If you have PLR you should snap up this WSO! |

Hi there DigitalProductReporter. Sorry to be so late getting back to you. I snapped this up a couple of weeks ago and then promptly got sidetracked on a more important project (in fact, I don't think I've been in the forum at all since that Saturday or Sunday afternoon). Well, I've just installed a new blog and got the layout the way I want it and some other plug-ins operating the way I like. So when it came time to add the content from a batch of PLR, it couldn't have been easier! Well, actually, it would have been easier if I hadn't initially been a bonehead and FTPed files that I'd saved in my text editor and mistakenly assumed were xxx.txt files when they weren't! I was scratching my head for a few minutes wondering why no files had uploaded. So without the numbnut interlude, as fast as it could possibly have been! Slick. Thanks. |

But they will play nice together. You can set them to post during the same time frame or have one post for one period of time and the other batch start at some later date. Let me know if you have any other questions. Quote:

This is for a WP blog. Any script modification or an alternate suggesstion to use this for a blogger blog or a generic website for importing the articles? I've got over 50k articles waiting to import. Looking for the simplest solution. |

If this plugin also automatically adds the description information and excerpts information and tags for every article, then it will absolutely rock. I am about to place my order for it but I await your response whether this plugin can do this. Also, if I have 20 categories, I will have to specify the number of articles to be posted for category 1 and category 2 and so on? Can't all the articles be randomly posted to all 20 categories? If this plugin can't do the above, any idea which one does, because I really need this for my niche blogs. It's tiring spending 5 minutes on each post when I have to manually enter the article title, the article itself, the article description, the article exerpt, and the various tags for the article -- if this plugin can automate ALL OF THESE, then it'll be cool. |

@legitblogger - the plugin imports articles and will add whatever tags/description you have wordpress setup for, but the plrtowordpress plugin won't do it. (there are other plugins that handle tags etc) also, it will only upload to one category at a time, it won't post randomly to multiple categories. This would not be a popular feature. While I'd love to add every feature mentioned in this thread I also want to keep the plugin as simple and straightforward for people that want to use it for importing articles into wordpress as easy as possible. |

I have bought and I am using your PLRtoWordpress. It's an awesome piece of tool and very simple to use. I however find it time consuming to keep loading the articles into the "thearticles" folder on my server. I will prefer a system where I can put all the articles in their various categories in folders with the same title, then the tool can load all these into my blog, in the right category as the folder name. This is much better and faster and is how other tools like InstantBlogFeeder work. It will absolutely rock much more if you can take the time to upgrade PLRtoWordpress to function this way and it will save a great deal of time. We simply put our articles in, say, 5 folders, each of the folder name will be the same category name we have on our blogs (it can even be made to create the category on the blog if it doesn't exist). Then when uploaded, all the articles in the particular folders will get uploaded to the particular category. I have a couple of friends that will buy their copies if it can be upgraded to function this way. |

@legitblogger - that will be the next update, I'll put an option to load from a popup menu of the files on your hard drive, it will still support the existing way though. I have a few other project on the go so it might take a few but It's now next in line I'll let you know when it happens.

the multiple category/folder support is now completed and live on the e-junkie server if you already ordered and want an update contact us with your email and paypal transaction id and we'll send you a free link Affomatic Contact us If you haven't ordered PlrToWordpress just make your purchase and you'll get the updated version automatically. Here's how the plugin works now, from the readme Quote:
) Affomatic Contact us While developing the update we saw many other options to add to the multipile category support but chose to keep it as simple as possible so unless it's really a needed addition we'll probably leave the category support like this for awhile. Hope you enjoy the update, I'll admit it's kinda cool to load up folders worth of plr articles and import them in one batch. Just don't over do it if you are on a shared server, try to limit your uploads to batches of a few hundred. cheers, mark - affomatic.com ps. AWESOME. It feels good knowing that what I suggested was looked upon and eventually IMPLEMENTED. This says a LOT about you and how much you want this to be the BEST autoposting plugin ever. I have used a lot of them and can confidently say this is the best and most simple of them all. Well done, Mark. I'd say anyone interested in autoposting to multiple blogs MUST get this plugin. And with this awesome new update, it is now almost everything I want in an autoposter! BTW, Mark, I see you haven't updated your salespage and even this WSO sales info to contain this new update. You should because lots of people will buy based on this alone!

Mark, Do you have any plans to add the tagging feature in this tool? I've been watching this thread and think that adding tags during the process is a necessity for me. Having to go back into WP and tag every article defeats the purpose for my uses. Any time frame? Great job on this. Thanks! Mark |

there are no immediate plans to add tagging support. The plugin already does categories and there are bunches of tagging plugins to add tags in bulk already out there already. However we'll keep it on the list for the next update. thanks for the suggestion. |

Testimonial and suggestion for improvement... I have been using PLRtoWordpress for the last couple of months. It's a REALLY GREAT plugin that I highly recommend to anyone. The owner is great in making upgrades as he has upgraded this plugin, based on my (and others) recommendations to make it post to various categories at once. However, I noticed 3 bugs that need to be sorted out to make this the ULTIMATE autoposting plugin. These bugs are painfully slowing me down from getting the best of this plugin. Here they are: 1- The posting to the different categories aren't randomly done. This ends up having posts in the same sets of categories before other categories. 2- It doesn't recognize categories with certain characters, such as & . I have some categories with such signs in the names and this prevents the plugin from posting articles to the categories. Instead the articles are posted to "uncategorized" 3- It changes the dash sign ( - ) to question sign ( ? ) in most of the titles and it changes the ( - ) to ( -%c2%96- ) in the slug In my opinion, PLRtoWordpress is among the best autoposting plugins out there, seriously... It will be good if these bugs are sorted out. And it will help this WSO incredibly if you post the solving of the bugs herein, Talk aboutcredibility, which I know you absolutely have! |

@legitblogger - Please send your bug reports or suggestions to my email. This is a sales thread and not a support forum. 1. You already asked this and I answered here http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...tml#post588345. The plugin DOES post the articles random for each category but you are correct it won't randomize the posting across multiple categories. (eg it posts all category 1 at random times, then category 2 at random times). This is fine for most users. 2. Change the "&" to the word "and" and it will work. I have this listed this to update on the next update (all current owners get free updates for life). 3. This is usually due to your articles not being in text format. For example check out this article on quotes that look like text but aren't. Microsoft Word Smart Quotes and Article Marketers Don't Mix I think that the dash is messed up as well coming from some formats. 99% of articles don'thave this issue and I'm guessing this is an issue with your article and not the plugin. I will make the updates as necessary in the future and you and everyone who already purchased will always get a free upgrade |

I can't get this plugin to post the articles. I am wondering if its a conflict with another plugin. The weird thing is that I can manually schedule an article to post successfully in the future. Before I tear everything apart on this site, is there anyone reading that uses the PLR To Wordpress plugin but had issues at first with another plugin? And if so; can you please tell me what the offending plugin was?Thank you. Steve |

@steve - occasionally plugins don't work well together. There aren't many reports of this but installing plrtowordpress first on a site, importing your articles, then installing other plugins should work like a charm. of course, this is a rare occurance but should get your case working.

So what I had to do was to use your program to import all my articles into WP and then manually go through each article one by one (over 250 of them!) and set each article to post at a future date. Bottom line: For me, your plugin worked great for importing the articles (which is a huge time saver in itself), but for some strange reason it won't auto post the articles. Steve
