The reason I ask is...If they think the comment is getting through, your blog will go on the "lists" that get passed around - before you know it, you will go from a few comments to a slew of comments literally overnight.

Hey - just noticed this went live, guys. Cool!

Sam was telling me about this a few weeks ago.

First of all - it's funny as hell and really does satisfy that
primal urge to reach through the computer and choke
those comment spam monkeys to death.

But more importantly, it addresses a real time-suck
for the huge number of marketers who have jumped
onto Wordpress for all the sites they publish.

Imagine if everyone was using this plugin...

...spammers would just burn up their bots in frustration.

I can hear them now, "We TRIPLED our cycles
going out but our traffic has VANISHED? WTF!"

Jeremy: We did think about that.

At the top of the plugin, you have an option to:

• Delete All Spammer Comments;
• Screw With The Spammers' Heads

Instead of selecting "Screw with the Spammers", as we do it, you should select "Delete all Spammer Comments".

The plugin has 4 basic steps:

1. Create Settings Profile;
2. Spam a few comments in the WP Comments Admin to define some basic Spam Identification Rules;
3. Identify Comment Spammers;
4. Process All Comments.

By "Deleting All Spammer Comments", when you "Process All Comments" the spammer comments will be deleted from the database at that point.







As to your specific request, we have just upgraded the software to accommodate your request, with version 1.0.1

With 1.0.1, if you select "Delete All Spammer Comments" in the settings window, the person posting will never see their comment in the blog, unless you manually approve the comment later.

All future upgrades for this plugin will be made available to our customers for no additional cost.

And no, it will not slow down your blog at all.

All of the heavy processing is done in the Admin area of your blog.

And the processing on the public side to decide whether to show the person a comment they submitted only requires up to three extra mysql calls, which typically adds less than about 3/10ths of a second to the page-loading time.

It does not interfere with Akismet filtering at all.

In a future upgrade, we will be addressing the automatic deletion of identified spam.

As stated previously, all upgrades for this plugin will be free for our existing customers.

It is nice to know that others share my twisted sense of humor...

The only downside of changing their comments is that they become aware of this plugin running on the blog, which will encourage them to change their Name, Email Address, URL and IP Address...

Once they change all 4 items, then you will have to manually identify them as a spammer all over again...

The goal of the software is to reduce the time you spend moderating comments, while wasting more of their time in the process...

As a result, I hesitate to tip the comment spammer off as to the existence of this plugin within your blog...

Spammers use bots with tons of different IPs, they rotate email addresses, URLs, comments, etc. They use different IPs to go back and check to see if the comment was actually posted, in which case your blog would go onto a list of blogs that accept blog comment spam.

I know you say that, but using it on one of my blogs, I was able to identify comment spammers -- even though they were rotating a lot of information -- and auto-flag their comments as spam in my system.

One person had submitted more than 200 comments to my blog -- while rotating all of the information provided -- and the software was able to identify and spam flag his comments despite his attempts to elude detection.

There is no 100% solution, but if we can auto-identify 80%, then time will be saved by the blogger.

Maybe you are one of those comment spammers? and you are pissed that we come out with such a cool tool to fight the assholes who continually spam our websites with BS...

We never claimed in any way that our plugin will stop spammers from coming to your blog...

That's totally impossible as you should know...to stop anyone from coming to your site...

All we are doing is combating the comment spammers by tricking them into thinking they are doing something to gain themselves...

The software is identifying who the spammers are and automatically flagging them as comment spammers...

And despite your claims to the contrary most comment spammers do not rotate all of their information all of the time...

Another weird, but strange and funny story is the blog that we used for the video tutorial.

The blog has 5 posts on it and 6 approved comments... Yet, this blog has 2802 pending comments and 2183 comments flagged as spam so far!!

That blog has only had this plugin on it for two days, yet in the last two years, the blog has given NO Hint or Suggestion that it accepts comments from anyone... And still the plugin needs to work Over Time to weed out all of the garbage comments...

With nearly 5000 comment submissions in two years, I don't think the lack of proof has stopped these clowns from submitting their crap to my blog.

Akismet relies on a central database. I also believe it requires a paid subscription at many levels.

We charge a one-time fee to get the plugin from us.



The difference with this plugin is that you need to identify comment spammers in the default WordPress Comment Admin window, by flagging comments as Spam. This helps the software build rules to identify the spammers submitting comments to your blog.

The other difference is that this software tracks people who may make partial changes to their submission profile, and records the many iterations they make when submitting comments to your blog.

Let's face it. Most comment spammers are lazy, and they will leave SOME information unchanged when they send comments to your blog.

They may only change their email addresses once a week, but once they have changed their email address, they will likely be tempted to promote the same URL as before.

This software will flag spammers according to the email address. Then later, if the person repeats the submission of a previously spammed URL, the software will make the connection, and start following new email addresses, based on two email addresses tagging the same URL.

The goal is to identify and follow the patterns left by the spammer... And then use the tracking data to flag any comment made by a person who you have previously identified as a spammer.

It is screwing with spammers at a very elemental level.
These folks are getting paid -- probably by the # of links -- to post comment spam.
When the people who are paying for the comment spam go to check,
they'll see that their spam didn't get out there -- even though the poor
schmuck who put it there did put it there, and thinks it's there.

Which means that -- maybe people will have to think of a different way ...

Which is why I REALLY like this plugin.
