It does work with direct linking and you can track the actual keyword phrase searched, not just the bid on keyword. You can even track which ad got the conversion so you have a better idea of what is working when you are split testing ads

The software won't pull your email open rate for you, but your autoresponder should be able to provide you the email open rate and the link click-through rate for each email. Aweber does that for me.

It will however allow you to track your link to say a landing page or your sales page and track the overall click-through rate of your landing page as well as which email got the conversion.

So say you send out 3 emails over a 4 to 5 day period. You would put a different tracking link in each email. The software would track the overall landing page click-through rate for the email promo and which email got the sale.

You grab the email open rate and link click-through rate from your autoresponder.

Then grab the overall landing page click-through rate and sales conversion rate for the campaign. Also the sales conversion rate for each email.

You now have a darn good picture of what is working for you.

It will also track which email got sales and the overall campaign conversion rate if your are direct linking an affiliate offer.

Pretty cool stuff...

Hey Hendra,

I don't specifically teach that. I'm not an Ebay affiliate so I don't know the backend setup well.

I took a quick look at bay RSS and phpbay pro... It appears to me that they automatically send relevant Ebay auctions to your wordpress blog with your affiliate link already embedded.

I also looked at the Prosper202 forum thread you were talking about. It looks like you can add a cookie to your Ebay affiliate link subid that will track your Tracking202 subid autmagically.

So you can go from PPC >>> Wordpress Blog >>> Ebay

I haven't tested it, but I would be happy to help you with that.

The other option is to send the search keyword as your Ebay subid.

If you decide to purchase I'll work with you to get your Ebay subid's setup for tracking with Prosper202.

If we can't get things to work to your liking, I'll refund you, no problems.

This way my exact refer url is not visible to the merchant. But then I'm pretty sure that I'd need to change some files in prosper to show "https" instead of "http" and well . . . that's not going to happen any time soon!

This WSO is still going on currently. It will be ending soon though.

Well to be honest I'm not entirely sure that changing over to HTTPS will hide your referrer URL from the networks.

I personally don't worry about it. They are going to get a referrer URL, I would rather it be mine with no keyword data or landing page data then to give them my campaign data. Plain and simple.

Now I haven't tried setting up an SSL certificate with Prosper202 yet. But I would be happy to help you out if you decide to go that route.

Hello,

If your doing affiliate marketing than you can't always put the Google Tracking Pixel on the thank you page which is necessary for Google tracking to work.

Prosper202 uses the subid tracking mechanisms built into most affiliate programs to do tracking and doesn't require any code to be placed on the thank you page.

It allows you to track other PPC networks such as Yahoo and MSN as well as other web links.

It's designed for CPA but works with any affiliate network that has subid tracking capabilities and has a host of features like cloaking to hide your campaign data from the affiliate networks even when your direct linking.

They also offer a tracking pixel and post back URL so if your affiliate network excepts them you can use them to have more automated conversion data.

There are some more features too, it's a great program for free and can really get you started in tracking your campaigns.

I think they are going to come out with some more features and options as well... They are looking at updating Prosper202 soon.

Can I ask are you using Google Conversion Tracking or Google Analytics?

Also you might consider a cloaking software like Samuri Stealth Cloaker or something similar. That would put a redirect on your page and count the clicks of each link. Seems like that is the information your interested in.

There are probably a few free cloaking software products on the market that count clicks too. Something to think about.

1. This can be done with Prosper202 pretty easily and you'll get Landing Page CTR as well, which is a nice bonus. Matter o fact that will probably be how you count conversions.

2. No a separate domain isn't needed, you can create a sub domain and use that with you existing domain.

3. I would imagine that Prosper202 is considered recording clicks since it is tracking software, but I would like to know what context they are talking about. What you are recording is information that is freely available with web transactions, not like you are doing something unethical.

I don't know anyone that uses 1&1 sorry.

4. I don't think you need Zend Optimizer to run Prosper202. You know an alternative would be to use the Tracking202 service which is the same as Prosper202 but ran on their servers.

That would probably solve your issue and get you the tracking you need.

Does the affiliate network provide any tracking data, IP addresses, something to help you track?

Ya know I don't know Xtreme Conversions, I haven't used it. Judging by their sales page, it's similar to Prosper202, less a few of the features. I would think you'll still need to have PHP running, so more than likely you'll have the same issues as installing Prosper202, including the issue of recording clicks.

The difference is paying up front to try it out.

I always recommended trying out Prosper202 or Tracking202 first, especially if you are on a budget or just getting used to tracking. Understand some of the features that are available and then once you are more familiar if you want to purchase something you can make a more informed decision.

That methodology often can save you a lot of time and money testing and trying different solutions until you find a fit. You'll understand more of what certain features do and can ask good questions to make sure a solution is right for your needs.

In all honesty, since you are really looking for landing page CTR, you'll need a solution that can do that for you. Then you'll probably have to track conversions manually and compare that to your LP CTR. This will give you an average ratio of those that click through to those that purchase.

You can then work your marketing based on those numbers.

You know Gauher Chaudhry has a spreadsheet for tracking CPA campaigns traffic costs and profits, but it would work great for what you are doing as well. A marketing campaign is a marketing campaign. It's free once you sign up for his report and available on his blog.

He's doing a prelaunch of PPC Formula 2.

You might consider that speadsheet as well.

Does your WSO show how to overcome this problem? In your experience have you installed prosper202 on hostgator? Please let me know if your WSO shows how to overcome this problem in which case I will buy it immediately.

Hey Chucky,

I've been getting this question quite a bit lately. I use HostGator and really like their service.

A month or two ago they upgraded their MySQL databases and every since then you can't install Prosper202 on their shared servers. Those of use that have an existing install are fine... Just no new installs. I did a test install real quick to verify and got an error message as well.

I haven't found a work around.

You have a couple of choices... You can setup a separate shared host account just for your Prosper202 install. This has a performance benefit as you won't be using the same server for both tracking and your web traffic.

It may seem trivial, but that is actually double the traffic on that poor server. The 202 guys recommend BlueHost and I have sent several customers to them. So far I have heard nothing but positive comments about them.

Or you can move all your stuff over to another service such as BlueHost. That way you have everything in one place with one bill.

The third and most expensive choice is to go to a dedicated server, which if you're doing high volumes of traffic, is the best choice. For over 5,000 clicks a day the 202 guys recommend a dedicated server. If you're just starting out, then a shared server is ok to get going.

Very cool, thanks for the question.

I don't specifically go over it in the videos... But the cool part is that Prosprer202 will do that. The downside is it's a manual process. What I mean by that is you can hover over the links when you're analyzing the data and it will tell you if it came by search and what keyword was used for searching which is pretty cool.

Since this is open source software, you could get a programmer to pull that info for you and put it into the interface to automate the process.

Hmmm... Might have to look into that myself. I like really going through the data so it doesn't bother me, but most are just going to want to see it easily in the interface.

I don't have specifics for product owners in these videos, but I'm doing a video set just for product owners, I'll have to add how to verify PPC or SEO in them. Thanks...

I don't go over tracking PPV in the videos. The good news is that Prosper202 will track keywords for PPV, it's built in.

I've been asked a few times and started putting a video together, but (there's always a 'but') I really don't have any experience with PPV and have been hesitant to really get into it for my marketing.

I have worked with a few customers who have tried it and they didn't get very good results at all. From what I've seen it's a pretty specific demographic.
