I have created this icon builder using Photoshop which speeds up the process a great deal and allows anyone to make great looking icons in seconds. I have had it tested on all popular forms of Photoshop and as it is a standard PSD file should also work in any program allowing editable PSD Files. Make Unlimited Number of Icons You can make Icons for your customers site over and over again. Import your own graphics for extra customization Change the colors to suit your mobile websites Add in extra features and styles Get a full size video tutorial to make it easier to learn Ready to Go reseller page. Have a look ![]() Here is exactly how it works. And of course when you create some icons why not come back here and show us. License: You can resell this product for $10 and rights only if the Zip file including the instruction video is retained. Tested on Photoshop 3,4,and 5 to date. I just purchased your new WSO for Mobile Icon Maker and wanted to let you know that it works perfectly fine in Photoshop CS2... Tried on Gimp and does not really work. |

Hey Quentin. 3 questions: 1. Should we have photoshop in order to use your icon builder? 2. And where are the graphics from? Are they supplied by you? 3. What exactly do you teach - how to create icons, or / and how to link them to certain apps or addresses? Thanks, Merav. |

Hey Syfer We sell them from a few hundred up to thousands. Obviously the big ones do not come along that much but government and large corporation and businesses with large groups do get us to make them. We have had two very big ones so far. In general though we do them for between $350 to $500 and then also go after their main site as well. Quite often because we have done a good job on their mobile site we get their main site as well. I just had the chance to test this out for Quentin using Photoshop CS4 and this is a great tool that should allow anyone with a program that can edit PSDs (photoshop, PS elements or gimp) to easily create beautiful looking icons for their mobile websites. A great tool like this would be useless without proper instruction on how best to use it, but Quentin delivers here too and provides an excellent video tutorial that will have even a novice photoshop user creating beautiful icons in no time. Get this now, and use this template as your starting point to save yourself hours of work which ultimately means more money in your bank account! Cheers, Steve |

Two free editors: The simplest one is from pixlr.com, which is used on-line. I just tried it with the icons and it worked well. You'll open the main icon and see a jumbled image. Start unchecking images to get to just one. It works well enough for most purposes. The only problem I had was with the text, for example "contact". I couldn't modify it (it may be my computer at work), but if you drag it off screen and open a new text box (needs resizing), you are there. There are plenty of pixlr.com videos on YouTube. You'll probably use it to modify photos, JPG's, and Photoshop files often, because it loads faster than Photoshop. The other free option is Gimp, but like Photoshop there's a learning curve, and over-kill for this icon project. Buy Quentin's mobile website WSO. The instructional videos are excellent, included are great templates (one uses icons), and he adds a lot of valuable information frequently. There's a very creative marketing system to promote mobile websites included. ART |

Hi Tommy An app is a term used to describe Internet applications that run on smartphones and other mobile devices. A mobile website is a Internet web page. Both can be interactive however the website is usually for promoting a business and can be up and running almost instantly and then updated any time. They also cover all phones. The apps have to be created for each different mobile platform and can take a while to be approved. Quentin |

Hey Q Thanks for your reply. I was in a slow wifi area, so couldn't watch your video. Now, after watching it, I understand better. Still one question: Can you convert the psd files into xcf (gimp) files? I'm using gimp, and from what I know, when opening psd files in gimp, the layers are gone. It's just a flat image. Also, I am sending you a PM now. Thanks, Merav. |

Thanks for that but I would never put a customers website on Gomobi. It would be like putting their main site on google blogger. Mobile builders are great for personal websites but not for business. Why send all your hard earned traffic to someone else. You should have your mobile website on your own domain As for the rest I agree. |

Gomobi is a hosted solution like Goole Blogger, homestead and other similar sites that make building your website or mobile website easy. However you are sending all your traffic to their site and not yours so seems like a silly thing to do. I would rather build the mobile website myself and host it on my business website for a number of different reasons. Continuity, seo juice etc. Google says if you place your mobile site in a m.domain.com they will treat it as a mobile site and give you all the credit. You put it on Gomobi Google will give gomobi all the credit. I know what I want. Q |

Wow - no offense Quentin but someone has mislead you. m.domain compared to .mobi domain is the exact opposite. Google is crawling for .mobi's as we speak - you have it backwards. Thats good you know what you want just understand that isn't what everyone wants is all. Don't quite understand where the hostility is coming from - I said your product was definitely the way to go for those creating their own site from scratch. For most marketing agencies I help get off the ground - mobile websites are such a small piece of the puzzle it is counter productive to do it from nothing when you can use a builder and have a tight, clean and highly functional site built in 30 minutes. As far as mobile SEO goes - I sell to business owners - I have redirect code put onto their desktop site so it just redirects a searcher from a mobile browser to the mobile site - there is no need for SEO, not that it cannot be done because it can. Also we use the mobile websites in combination with tons of other marketing efforts so it really becomes irrelevant. Wish you the best. |

Hey mate no hostility here. Just watch this video by Matt Cutts from google for best mobile practices and you can tell him he is misdirected as it is what he says that I quote. And yes Google is also crawling .mobi sites. I used gomobi for a while and think it is a great system but it is a hosted solution so why not just spend a few extra minutes and build a customized site and give your customers all the credit. Most customers already have a website so you do not have to create it from scratch as you get the info off their site. You can build a customized one in almost the same time it takes to create on a hosted solution and customize it to the customer. I am not promoting my product as you can use any system you want but I would always prefer it to be on my domain than someone elses. And hey I understand you are excited about promoting this service but you could provide a much better solution to your customers. |

Here is some info for you from mobiThinking - Im sure you are familiar: " The best way to build your mobile web site for SEO is by using the dotMobi domain. Now, of course, as a member of the senior management team at dotMobi, you'd expect me to say this. But I can assure you that the use of a dotMobi domain, and the range of free tools that we provide to mobile site developers will, without doubt, give you the best possible platform for achieving great SEO results. Here's why: Building a mobile site on a dotMobi domain gives it instant recognizability and 'findability' to humans and search crawlers alike. Unlike other mobile domain conventions - such as 'm.yourbrand.com' or 'yourbrand.com/mobile' - the URL string 'yourbrand.mobi' makes your property instantly recognizable as fit for purpose, and differentiated from your separate yourbrand.com content experience. The value of this instant recognition is powerful when set in the context of the mobile user and search engine behaviors discussed above. Your quest is to stand out from the pack as mobile through and through - why leave anything to the imagination of a crawler when it arrives at your mobile site or a user when she's presented with a bunch of confusing domain strings on a mobile search results page?" The whole mobile SEO Best Practices can be read here: Mobile SEO Best Practices | mobiThinking You can do a simple search of .mobi vs m. and see the same thing reiterated a hundred times. I think you may be confusing goMobi with .mobi which is a TLD - im not sure why you would think goMobi would buy you a domain. This is becoming counterproductive for me though. Im not here to give basic mobile lessons. Best of luck with your en devours. |

Hi Quentin, I've purchased your Mobile Icon Builder which is fantastic so far, however I do have an issue. I am using Adobe Photo-shop Essentials 9 which has 'layers' (which you said is needed). When I open the Mobileicons.psd file into photo-shop everything seems fine except when I went to change the color of my icon layer. I don't seem to have the 'Effects' or 'Color Overlay' drop-down options like you do in your video. I attached screenshot1 which is from your video showing how these options are available, and screenshot2 is the Mobileicons.psd file opened on my photo-shop program which shows that I do not have these options. I am new to photo-shop and I tried like heck to figure it out, but I cannot seem to figure out how to change the colors on my layers. What do you think? Is there a simple fix that I am missing? Also, I noticed that in your video you have a bunch of images in your folders. I however only have 6 total, less than one per folder. Could it have been my download link? Thanks ps... I'm also a member of your Business Mobile Website, and I've learned so much. keep up the great work! |

Well it is pretty rude AdappMedia that you would come into A WSO that I have paid for to push your products but hey I guess it takes all types. On to another note. Hi IM Billy. A bit hard as I do not have Photo-shop Essentials 9 and you may have to do a search on Google to find the answer sorry. I made it specifically for photoshop and so elements is a bit out of my league. I will do some research for you. |

Hi Quentin, just bought your icon system with your mobile business course and it works great. Many thanks. BTW I had never used Photoshop in my life , I always use GIMP and it works fine aswell if you are familiar with it. You can open any *.psd file in GIMP easily and then edit the layers as you want. It is that easy and GIMP is just open source and free. I am a DIY Mobinet Marketer aswell .The only thing you have to do properly is creating new text layers. They are not really compatible with the GIMP-text system. But I had to do it in Photoshop too, cause I want to change the language. Finally you have to save the whole file (all layers) in GIMP-specific format *xcf. Thats it. Thanks again for that great WSO Frank |
