Raise a Readaholic will Improve the Atmosphere in Your Home

This book is not full of dry theory and boring exercises your child is going to hate you for.
This book is brimming with fun activities, ideas to use to bring the magic of books and stories to life.
I admit it. I am a cheapskate when it comes to buying children’s equipment. So I like to find low to no cost ways to help my children learn.
This book is not about having to buy heaps of expensive items. It is about hooking your child into learning. A readaholic is a good asset to any house!

You Don’t Need to Have One of Those Great Sitting Down Sort of Kid

Learning Happens Anywhere!

In Raise a Readaholic, I name...
  • How to Hook the Wriggly Child Into Reading
  • Why You NEVER Keep Your Books Away from Kids Who Love Ripping Them Up!
  • The #1 Secret That Will Make Books Relevant to your Disinterested Child
  • How to Use What You Already Have to Create Interest
  • The Single Most Important Secret Factor In Reading Success
  • How to Learn the Difference Between a Child Who is Bored and a Child Who is Scared to Attempt New Things
Of course I haven’t just been a teacher- I am a parent too. I work full time and have to really fight every day to make sure I spend some quality time with my kids. It doesn’t seem to make a difference whether you are a stay at home parent or one that works, time is hard to find.

That is why the activities in this book are all easy and don’t take all day to work out! Of course if you are really enjoying it you can extend all the ideas very easily. But for those of us with time pressures, you can still use the ideas to benefit your child very easily.

I also reveal:
  • How to Keep the Atmosphere Positive and Purposeful
  • The Absolute BEST Way to Make Reading Come Alive for Your Child
  • Dangers in Focusing on Formal Reading Exercises too Early
  • How to Teach Phonics Without Your Child Knowing!
  • Top Tactics to Improve Your Read Aloud Style To Keep Them Captivated
  • The Secret to Taking the Learning Outside
  • How to Select the Right Book for Your Child
We own a lot of children’s books in our house. And we go to the library a lot. But some of the children’s books around are awful. I know- I have read them! The right sort of book can interest even the most wriggly and fidgety child. I will show you how to select a book that fits in with your child’s developmental stage, their personality and their interests.

Will It Really Make A Difference if my Child is Not a Reader?

Yes. Quite frankly. Yes.
I have taught children who have struggled with work, which have had huge behavior problems and terrible home lives. I was lucky as I had a school principal who trusted in my ideas and me so I was able to create a room that focused first on literacy for a whole year.
In that year those children would begin to change.
Reading is not just about getting close to academic success. Reading is about being able to discover more of our world that most f us can through travel and experiences. It gets us inside other people’s heads, explains how things work, and tells us our history.
Reading helps the left and right sides of our brains talk together.
Being Able to Read Is More Than Just a Skill.
It is an Asset

A Child Who Is Self Motivated to Learn

That is what a love of reading does to your child. They get the skills they need to discover everything they need or want to about our world. They will be able find the answers to some of their own questions, discover the world, and increase their confidence through reading.

Finally!A Step-By-Step Guide to...
Raising a Readaholic

ü The Truth About Each Developmental Stage and How Your Interactions Change as Your Child Grows.
ü Important Things You Need In Your Home at All Times to Help Your Readaholic.
ü Why You Can Use Props to Capture Their Imaginations
ü How To Set Up an Environment that Children Want to Read In.
ü A Super Easy Way to Build Your Child’s Vocabulary Through Play.
ü The REAL Reason Why Children From Some Families Will Always Do Better at School - And it Has Nothing to do With Money!

I remember going to a friend’s house years ago. We lived in the same street and we earned the same amount of money. But whereas our house had bookshelves heaving with books in every room, there was not one single book anywhere.
My friend’s kids didn’t even have library cards!
Her children struggled at school- I know because I was their teacher! They were bright, clever and lovely children to know. They also found learning new ideas very difficult. They needed to learn the power of becoming a readaholic.
Sure, as a teacher who was completely sold out to reading, I could help them at school to catch the reading bug but IF they had built a great reading environment at home, they would have been able to reach their full potential.
All they needed was access to books.

I Know Parenting is Busy

I can clue you in on…
  • How to Raise a Readaholic in the Car
  • The Secret of Seeing Sounds Anywhere
  • The Best Places and Times to Read With Your Child
  • AND Why You Don’t Always Need Books to Raise a Readaholic

All you need is to follow the ideas and you can create book after book with your child.
