I got the shock of my life a couple of weeks ago!

In several years of marketing online I had NEVER experienced anything like this.

It all started because someone had purchased one of my products and then raised a dispute with paypal only minutes after!

This was confusing enough (it happens sometimes - that's IM life), as they hadn't had the chance to download the product before passing judgement... besides my refund rate is extremely low.

Paypal said they were investigating this AND limiting my account. I couldn't withdraw any money to my bank account!

@Shannon Spoon. I think Garry's comment about "accepting that this is the way it is." refers more to the fact that there are certain limitations that Paypal can impose and we as marketers can do very little about it. At the end of the day, we are choosing to use their service so we are somewhat at the mercy of their policies. Doesn't mean we take it lying down but it is much easier to process payments through a competitor than it is to fight Paypal on their policies. So in that regard, I think Garry's statement makes sense.

Gary thanks for the excellent guide on staying out of trouble with Paypal. I thought it was a great guide. However, there was one line of text that I do disagree with and that is accepting that this is the way it is.

Yeah Paypal might (does) have the monopoly on payment processor right now but there have been some big names in Internet Marketing that have had their accounts suspended and I don't think they are all going to take it lying down.

If you are running your business legitimately then you should be able to take out money whenever you want to. It shouldn't matter if you have $10,000 or $100,000 in your account.

Personally, I hate those freaking thieves! At one point they and ebay's legal GOONS sent me a warning due to a URL that they didn't like. I promptly IGNORED them and they got off my back.

Three major banks are starting to compete with pay"-****" -type of services, -YAY!

I use Google, Amazon and other services and avoid those thieves AMAP.

Bottom line, you can behave all you like, but if you do something inadvertently like make a lot of money too quickly, whether you warn them ahead of time or not, it goes to a special dept. for review.. and Paypal is stating they don't like the things we are promoting. That's what their fraud dept. is telling us warriors that have been shut down.

Yeah Paypal might (does) have the monopoly on payment processor right now but there have been some big names in Internet Marketing that have had their accounts suspended and I don't think they are all going to take it lying down.

If you are running your business legitimately then you should be able to take out money whenever you want to. It shouldn't matter if you have $10,000 or $100,000 in your account.

That's right, if Paypal want to investigate your account they'll do it regardless. All I can do is provide people with the right information to MINIMIZE the risk, which is what I tried to do in this WSO.

just went through it, and although I'd "skimmed" Paypal's guidelines and TOS, there were 2 HUGE aha-moments where I thought: "dang, I already KNOW that 95% of marketers are breaking the rules here" (after reading the guide, check out the last 10 WSOs you bought and you'll know what I mean).

Plus, the bonus report it outstanding: shows you how to attract high quality buyers in the first place, reduce refunds (yes, those strategies truly reduce refunds BIG time). So, even if you're not using Paypal, the bonus guide alone is going to be GOLD for creating a sweet little sales-funnel that attracts and then grows high quality clients!

I wasn't planning to buy any more WSOs for a bit, but I knew it would be daft to ignore this one for the sake of saving $12!

My husband has already had several issues with Paypal and he's just selling stuff on ebay from time to time. And I had a regular monthly payment from my Paypal account to my hosting account stopped for reaching my sending limit, so I know that Paypal can be a bit of a minefield if you don't know what you're doing.

It's good to have a handy guide to help us stay on the right side of Paypal for when we start making some real money!

Great report and a must have for anyone using Paypal. Sooner or later you will need to know this information, because Paypal will limit your account without asking if they suspect anything at all. If a customer files a complaint against you, you could very much be screwed. So be prepared!

Just got through the document and you've done an awesome job here. You have created a product that the market NEEDS. When I was at the Warrior Event in Raleigh a few weeks ago, the Paypal topic was hot. Seems everyone was concerned about how to avoid getting their account frozen.

This guide is absolutely essential for anyone who intends on doing any kind of sales volume through their Paypal account.

There are a couple of specific sections in this book that highlight MUST KNOW strategies for all marketers. Most importantly... having a plan in place in the event your account were to get frozen. Do you have a plan?

@Shannon Spoon. I think Garry's comment about "accepting that this is the way it is." refers more to the fact that there are certain limitations that Paypal can impose and we as marketers can do very little about it. At the end of the day, we are choosing to use their service so we are somewhat at the mercy of their policies. Doesn't mean we take it lying down but it is much easier to process payments through a competitor than it is to fight Paypal on their policies. So in that regard, I think Garry's statement makes sense.

Is someone saying that you can get your paypal account banned just for buying a WSO?

This is something to pay attention to. About 8 months ago one of my PayPal accounts was limited. They never did tell me the exact reason, but after appealing for half a year, they finally closed my account and froze the balance for 6 months. Including the whole process, my it will be 14 months before my funds are available for withdrawal. I spend half the year at my home in Hawaii and the other half at my second home in Asia. Another one of my PalPay accounts was limited for about two months while I was faxing them copies of my passport, rental contracts, utility bills, and bank statements simply because I had listed two different address's on my account information.
