| The product? Private label rights to a different kind of copywriting manual. One with endorsements from people like Allen Says, Mark Joyner, David Garfinkel, Jim Straw, and Bob Serling. Get the details, and your copy, here. So much for the blatant pitch. ![]() Now for something completely different... And useful (I hope) even if you don't order it. We get a lot of offers here for "private label rights" products. I thought I'd chime in with some tips on how to use them effectively. We'll use that report, "Million Dollar Copy," as an example. The first thing is to begin with a solid product. (We'll pretend this one fits, for the sake of discussion.) Your goal is to find something that offers value to your customers, or that you can relatively easily tweak to make that happen. If you can find that cheaply, cool. If not, spending a little more is a smart move. I've seen people complain about a $200 resale rights license, even though the product had gotten top reviews from some of the most experienced Warriors in the field. I jumped on it, since that meant there would be fewer people selling it, and I could count on giving my customers something that would help them. With just a few hours of effort, I took one of Paul Hancox's books and made back 50 times my investment, while giving my subscribers a hellaciously good price on something that can make them tons of extra profit. And I still sell that book to this day. I'll take that deal every day. Look at the quality of the product, and how many sales you need to make to recoup your investment and settle it in as a long term part of your business. Everyone has different preferences on this, but I tend to prefer private label stuff to straight resale rights products. With private label products, you aren't locked in to promoting someone else's idea of what's good and what isn't. This is more directed at those resale rights products that are stuffed with links for the creator's products. Nothing wrong with that as a strategy, but it's not always a good fit with how I do things. Again, just a preference. I make exceptions for things like Paul Hancox's stuff, because the quality is so high, and whatever links there might be are going to be to similarly solid products. I don't have to worry about sandbagging my customers for a quick turnover. A more important point is that private label products can be edited. I like to make things fit my personal style, and I can add a lot of useful information, examples and perspectives to most things that fit an area of expertise. Most of us who've done anything with resale rights products have gotten the emails saying stuff like, "I already have this. It's just the same old junk," no matter how good the product was. Handle private label stuff right, and you'll get emails that say, "I bought the original from someone else, and it wasn't half this good. This is what it should have been like from the start!" You do that by making the product fit the market. You talk directly to your prospects. Using "Million Dollar Copy" as an example... This report is great for a straight copywriter, just as it is. However, if you target it to a specific profession, change the language to fit, and give examples that are useful for the people in that market, you end up with a whole different pool of customers. For those people, the book is much more valuable. And you can charge more for it. Here's the cool part. You can re-edit the original, add different examples, and have another product, for another profession or niche, just as quickly. I had another product that I wasn't doing as much with as I should have been, and sold private label rights to. A friend bought them and has turned them into a whole brand. Different versions for a bunch of different fields. (It takes him two days to create each new version.) You can do the same with products that are harder to modify directly, such as videos, as long as they're on generic skills or topics. Add a manual showing how to apply the lessons to a specific profession, and you've got a niche product. Do a solid outline, talk it into Dragon Naturally Speaking, and you can create something like that in a few hours. A long day, at worst. Again, once you have the outline, changing the examples and a little of the introduction is about all you'll need to create another product for another niche. Remember, this works best if the product is focused on a skill or fundamental operation. If you're going to be offering it to a list of existing customers or subscribers, change the style a bit. Add your own recognizable flair, fit the examples and writing to your approach, and you've got something that works for your market. Another thing you can do is simply expand the product. Add sections, mix in reports you already have in hand (with appropriate editing for style compatibility), and you've got yet another way to make the product better than the original. One of the nice things about this approach is that it's much easier to expand an existing product than to create a whole new one from scratch. You've got a framework and theme already in hand. Just a few ideas, to make reading this worth the time, even for people who don't get the rights to the book. ![]() On that note, what can you do with this report? Rights: You may edit the file as you wish or use it as-is, rename it or keep the same name, and sell the resulting product as a complete work. You may also use it as a bonus with any paid product. You may sell the product at any price you like. I don't believe it's legal to set minimums, and I don't think it would matter with this one anyway. If you use the techniques I describe above, you're going to be selling something with unique value that fits a specific market and level of experience. That said, if you sell it below the $27-$47 range as-is, you're going to convince me you're missing the boat. And the point. But that's your business. You may not sell resale rights to the original book or any derivative work, and you may not distribute the source file. You may use the sales letter for the report, and edit it as you wish, but with one condition: You may NOT use those testimonials unless you leave the content exactly as it is now, and leave my name on the book and sales page as the author. The reason for that is simple. I do not know that the people who gave those testimonials would approve of your content changes. It would be rude of me to assume anything like that, and it might well not be legal. I think those are reasonable terms. Take a look at the letter, and I believe you'll see why this is such a hot product. Get your copy here. Enjoy! Paul |

I bought this straight away from your email announcement, Paul, and I agree that the other Paul's stuff is first rate as well, I bought both of his products (if he has more than 2, let me know what I missed). Anyway, Million Dollar Copy is well worth the $195 range for resell rights, at $67 it's a steal. |

Well...I don't want the competition ... but, I have to say it anyway... MDC is worth $67 ON ITS OWN. With the bonuses & the PLR (PLR!!!!) its got to be Paul's mega Christmas present to the Warrior Forum. Not to mention the great marketing lessons in the wso copy... (Speaking of which ... Merry Christmas to any Old Calendar Orthodox out there...) You're crazy if you don't pick this up. Live JoyFully! Judy Kettenhofen, Profit Strategist/Copywriter NextDay Copy |

Hi Paul, I bought it and I'm in the process of reading right now. Im in a usually quiet Internet Cafe where I go because of their state of the art equipment. So I'm setting here reading and a fight breaks out, I'm torn between running and reading your eBook. I'm still reading. LOL I can't find anything in the copy to stop the fight. Maybe if I just start reading it out loud they will stop and listen. Can I do that, do I have reading out loud rights?George Wright P.S. I just found out Dell Monitors bounce if the corner hits the tile just right. P.S.S. Back to reading. (note to self: find a new I-cafe.) |

3 words...Awesome Freakin Deal I was expecting to pay at least $80 more than you're charging. Just bought my copy. THANKS PAUL! EDIT: This is an absolutely perfect match for a membership program I'm about to launch. I'll be offering a free trial. I'll use a bit of teaser copy and mention that I'll be including MDC as a bonus for anyone who stays on beyond the trial. I've been searching for just the right "stick" strategy. |

| Dee, To grab that salesletter, just go to the File menu in your browser and hit the "Save Page As" option. It will let you pick where you want to save the file to, and you can edit it as needed. Glad you enjoyed the book! Lance, Using it as a "stick" bonus is an excellent idea. An alternative approach to what you've described (not necessarily better, but different) would be to start sending them the content as chapters before the point at which they have to decide whether to stay on or not. At the end of each chapter, put in a teaser telling them what's coming in the next one, and build the anticipation. That's called a "continuity bridge," and can be very effective if the content is compelling and useful, and the teasers are done right. George, Yes, you have reading-aloud-rights. I think finding a more "sedate" Internet cafe might be more productive, though. ![]() Paul |

I got a copy of this product when Paul released it. The first testimonial on his sales page says it all... If you want some original copywriting advice and tips, Paul's book delivers. (That originality aspect applies to all his other products too, btw.) He's known for dropping some 'mind bombs' on his readers, which when applied would surely boost your income. Bryan |

Paul, I got a copy of this through Dennis Becker's Earn 1k a Day membership site and thought it was awesome. When I finally came across your WSO and realized you are offering PLR rights... ...well, I might have broken an Internet commerce speed record as I grabbed my copy! It was a real treat to discover how little you are charging - I would have paid well north of $67 for this one. Thanks, |

I snapped this up when my eyes reached the end of the first sentence, Paul. Even though the LAST thing I needed to do was spend MORE money on my business right now... I am THRILLED to do just that for getting PLR to this awesome, evergreen product. My mind is swimming with 'cha Ching' ideas. Already bought a great domain name for one of them. Thanks, Paul. |

This is as good a PLR deal as you can get, period. I got MDC a little while ago when Paul offered it then, and it continues to be a great resource, as evergreen as something can be. I know it's PLR, but it's so good that I didn't want to claim authorship for this. So the only place I've sold it is as part of my Copywriter's Toolkit package, and even then I gave Paul full credit (sorry Paul...if changing the author was a requirement, I guess I blew it!) If Paul's offering this again, well you should jump on it. But then I'm just a copywriting bum who does all right with my "wacko" theories based on a century of results (not MY results, I'm not THAT old yet!) Cheers, John P.S. Paul, We've already established what I am... |

Paul shares some brilliant insights into human nature in MDC, and goes far beyond what is politically correct, right to the real drivers of our behaviour, confronting as they may be. Reading MDC is like remembering something you already knew, but finally 'getting it'. Anyway.. Paul Myers? Private Label Rights? $67? No. Brainer. |
