Nope, it won't slow your site down. It saves all of the visitor video playbacks on your server, but there is an option in your WPClicks plugin admin area that you can Delete data from any specific date range. This allows you to clear anything you'd like.

If your site has TONS of visitors every single day (and I mean... a LOT), then I would just recommend that you clear your data every now and then, or only keep a few weeks worth of data.

For a typical site, keeping the past data for a longer period of time is just fine.

Can you elaborate more on "it won't slow your site down?"

The plugin must be communicating with the web server, triggering database updates to store clicks and visitor movements. How often does that happen? With every mouse movement, scroll or click?

How/when are the playback videos being generated on the server? Is that done as-needed when requested from the admin area?

Don't mean to grill you, but I'm a site-speed freak. It doesn't appear a money-back guarantee is being offered, so though this looks super cool, I don't want to buy it and find it's slowing down my sites. Recording data like this can't help but add processing load to the web server.

Also, has this plugin been tested with caching plugins, like W3 Total Cache?

This plugin looks awesome just one major question I have before I go out on a limb and buy in. Where is the data on video being stored if its on my site then that would add about 100 videos a day and could get heavy on the memory side of things. Or is this a loop how many videos does it store at a time.

einsmate: The basic way that it works is that the visitor movements and clicks are tracked and stored in your WP database. Then, this info is retrieved from ONLY when you want to view the video playback. In fact, it's not "technically" a video like an mpg, avi, mp4, or anything like that. So the storage amounts are not very much. We use the stored data and combine that with our script that knows how to take that data and put it into a "player" so that you can visually watch it. So the only time that data is retrieved is when you're wanting to actually view the specific visit. Thus, it won't slow anything down.

And yep, we DO have a money back guarantee. It's a 60-day money back guarantee. So there's really no reason not to try it out.

Alan: there is a Goal Campaigns feature built in that allows you to create campaigns whereby you can track and filter out only those visitors that completed a goal successfully or unsuccessfully. So it can give you the specifics as to why a user didn't buy, or dropped off your site, or why they did or didn't do "whatever it is you're tracking". There's a TON of data that you can use here.

there's currently no heat mapping integrated into the software. but you could certainly combine a heat map plugin with the data you get from wpclicks. This is definitely a feature that we've discussed about integrating into the software.

Hey Sarge,
1. As many recordings as you want. It's unlimited PER install.

2. Yep, until you delete the data. There's a setting where you can choose a date range to delete data from.

3.As long as the site is a wordpress site, then wpclicks can be installed on it and will work just fine. If a visitor comes to your site from a mobile device, then it will still track that visitor in a recording.

4. The time is the same amount of time that the visitor was on your site.

Danny, it's not built to track Adsense ads. Google is really tricky with how they display Adsense ads nowadays with their variation of an "iframe". So they make it basically impossible to track clicks on Adsense ads. However, if you know where the adsense ads are located on your pages, then you can certainly watch the visitor clicking those locations on your pages, but the actual ad content isn't tracked within WPclicks.... not now anyway.

This is something that I've personally been wanting to add to the software (for my own purposes too), but as of yet it's just not possible (technically speaking). If it's something we can do, you can bet I'll get it added asap.

A suggestion: some of my visitors stay on site for 15-25min, so it's a whole movie to watch in such cases, so I think an option for a x2,x4 and x8 faster playback would be lovely!

This could probably easily be solved by creating a "skip inactivity" button.
What if people visiting your site, go get some coffee and get back 10 minutes later? Skip inactivity is your solution

It would also be nice for the statistics to have a column with "activity time" and "time on page". That way you can easily filter the reacordings you want to see.

In the video player, you can click the "Fast Forward" button to move from a time of Inactivity to a time of the "Next Click". OR, you can click anywhere in the progress bar within the player (the one just below the Play button). It will move the video to the location of the visit where you clicked. We're working on adding a feature to be able to "Start" a video from any of the visited pages. This way, if you weren't interested in the first couple pages, then you can easily skip to a "trigger point" (let's say page 4 of their visit) in the video, and start watching the video there.
