What's changed since last time?

But since the last WSO, something happened, which led to a quantum leap in what the site offers. The video is a bit out of date, we've added quite a few things since it was shot (for example Super Simple Marketing, the VRE Coaching Course, some more business models, a Web 2.0 section, and more). The main thing is, I don't just plop a bunch of stuff down and walk away. I'm in the forum from around 7 a.m. until 11 p.m. most days working, answering questions, doing my best to make sure attention is paid to everything that needs paid attention to. And after those hours my head is trying to come up with the next idea for improvement.

For example, not too long ago, I made what I considered a major improvement ... Where it's common for membership site owners to cater to getting and keeping new members a 2nd month, my concentration now is on getting my members to stay long past that. I no longer worry about someone staying into their second month, because over 90% do. I pretty much know what it takes to keep people happy for more than a little while.

Now I'm concentrating on taking even better care of what I call "veteran members", those who have been members 4 months or more, with special products only for them. My feeling is that new members should get great treatment and should be overdelivered to. But loyal longer term members should get superb royalty class treatment.

Yes, above and beyond the everyday goodies and features of Earn1KaDay, we roll out even more features on a timed basis, a way of showing MY loyalty to those that have shown THEIR loyalty.

Rather than raise the price for new members, I'm doing everything I can to increase retention rates.

My main concern is keeping members happy for a looooong time!

I figure if I can grow the membership slowly but surely, rather than tread water by getting to replace old members that have left, I don't need to raise prices in order to afford to raise value. ... except when we add major new components like were added when Gregg and Steven joined the staff.

Sure, I do my best to overdeliver to everyone, but I really have a plan to overdeliver even more so for the veteran members. I have to confess though, that after adding the new features to Earn1KaDay, it was necessary to raise the price by a modest $10/month. I've considered that in the past, but I don't think it will ever happen.

That's a good business model for sites that expect members to cancel within the average 3 to 4 month time frame, but our members don't do that. Many have been paying members since we started in May 2007.

Since at some point there will have to be a membership cap because of the time involved in supporting the site, if we reached the cap, and most were on a lifetime membership, my income would stop dead.

Plus, it wouldn't be fair to those that have already paid for 15 months to offer lifetime memberships to new members at a rate less than those people have paid already.

There was an old thread in the old forum comparing the two sites, which I managed to find:

I'm a member of Wealthy Affiliate, so I do know a little about it, in my opinion it's great especially for Bum Marketers and for those wanting to learn a little or a lot about AdWords.

At Earn1KaDay.com we have sections for both those business models, and 9 more besides, my original strategy came from my 5 Bucks a Day eBook which stresses setting short to medium term goals, developing a big list of short term projects that will make you $5 a day recurring income, focusing like the devil and hopefully completing each project in a week, and then doing the same thing next week.

So having multiple business models, allowing you to diversify your income, always made sense to me.

I hope that answered your question, I just saw it as I was coming over here to close this offer down, unfortunately, it will still be valid until the moderators remove this thread. It was due to expire soon anyway I think.
