| -> UPDATE * UPDATE * UPDATE <- I am getting an INSANE Traffic Explosion on my "test" blog http://blog.promisia.com which is nothing more than a Demo site for HOTFEED. Today i had 3000 Visitors!! Look at the site, its a pure trash site! It started about a week ago with the MJ/Fawcet deaths. Ever since, Huge traffic. I also updated some wordpress plugins, and every since i am seeing this insane traffic coming in. The recent days i had about 1000-1500 uniques/day...and today 3000 ![]() HOTFEED will SuperCharge Your Blog!! HOTFEED will automatically fetch Current Google Trends Keywords and will put RSS content, Videos and More on YOUR Blog Matching the Current SUPERHOT Trend Searches!! (You can use it with Wordpress, Blogger, Squidoo and ANY Site which uses RSS!) ![]() What is HOTFEED? HOTFEED works with Wordpress, Blogger, Squidoo, ANY Site which uses an RSS feed. It is INCREDIBLE flexible - and BRAINDEAD Simple to use! See a demo WP blog WPTrends - HOT Breaking News where i show HOTFEED on a Wordpress blog. You can also see how i made a very simple Squidoo lens with it on Hot Trends and News HOTFEED will automatically fetch Current Google Trends Keywords and will put RSS content, Videos and More on YOUR Blog Matching those Current SUPERHOT Trend Searches!! What is Google Trends and why would you want this? Google Trends is a service provided by Google which constantly monitors which are "The Hottest Searches on the web Right Now". HOTFEED uses those trend keywords and your blog will always feature THE latest Content matching THOSE "Ultra-High-in Demand" Searches! Now, in combination with a blog platform like WordPress this opens up an incredible Power to Attract Traffic to Your Site! Simple, But Incredible Powerful: You simply place the HOTFEED script on your site, say yoursite.com. Now, let's say you make or already have a wordpress blog and use the free RSS autoblog plugin FeedWordpress. Where the feedwordpress plugin asks you to enter a feed URI, you simply enter the address of your own site instead where you put the script: (For example yoursite.com/hotfeed.php) ![]() You then schedule the feedwordpress plugin to pull your HOTFEED maybe each 20 mins, and your blog will always have SUPERHOT content, Breaking News on it! Now, this is not only limited to WordPress, but you can display your own "Hotfeed" on any Blog or Site which supports RSS, like Squidoo or Blogger!! Ways to Control your HOTFEED: HOTFEED can fetch for you: Youtube Videos, Google News and Yahoo News!! HOTFEED only needs to be uploaded to your site once, and then you can control what content it will return, simply with parameters you specify in the URL to the script! By default it fetches VIDEOS from Youtube matching Google Trend keyword #1 (the most searched for!)...but you can specifiy the source (Youtube, Google News, Yahoo News) and also WHAT keyword from the list of the current 100 Top Google Trends. Example:The Current Google Trends keywords would be 1. Obama President 2. Paris Hilton 3. Sky Hotel ... 100. Whatever With a simple parameter in the URL you can specify the trend keyword position and you can create multiple feeds using any of the sources (Youtube, Google News, Yahoo News) using ANY of the 100 trend keywords with all possible combinations. In Wordpress, with the FeedWordpress plugin or on Squidoo, you would just add a number of feeds with different parameters. You can make one RSS feed fetching videos for keyword #1, add another one fetching the Google News, add another one fetching Google News for keyword #2...and so forth. VIDEOS and NEWS!! Depending on the keyword and what Google, Youtube or Yahoo returns, you can also get VIDEOS on your blog, as you see on the example screen shot. ULTRAEASY SETUP - HOT CONTENT to ANY SITE or BLOG! All you need to do is enter the URL where you put the script (instead of "some other" RSS feed) - and HOTFEED returns the HOT RSS feed loaded with the latest hot searches people are looking for right now. With wordpress, you just set up a simple wordpress with the FeedWordpress plugin..maybe some additional plugins like Platinum SEO, XML Sitemaps, PingCrawl....get a nice template like "flexibility", enter the HOTFEED URLs in Feedwordpress. As simple as that! Check it out: WPTrends - HOT Breaking News Now...what does all the magic cost...you might ask... You can have the latest HOT Trends Stuff on your blog with HOTFEED for Only $47 !! An incredible boost for your blogs at a RIDICULOUS low price! Click here for your instant download: Wow Georg, this is Something! For Only $47 i am definitively in! To All Our Success! Georg / Chrysten Requirements: PHP hosting, tested on PHP5, Curl enabled. 99% of all hosters HAVE all this. The script has not been tested w/ PHP4 (yet). ![]() G. |

Cool stuff... I only wonder how to monetize such a blog effectively, since the content will be all over and lack a defined theme (don't say "AdSense"!)

Thanks Georg, I have purchased. Tnis is exactly what I need for my upcoming project which has now risen to the top of the pile! Just one question. I quite like to submit my websites RSS feed to the RSS directories. Can you (or anybody else) give advice on whether this is a good idea in this case (given that the RSS feed coming in will effectibely be the same as the one going out??) |

Georg - I have purchased and had a quick look in my lunch hour . This looks really good I have a quick question which may be appropriate more for a PM but here goes. I notice you recommend Pingcrawler which I remember reading about some time ago but never put into action so am considering it now. It does say in the documentation for Pingcrawler that it slows down posting but is good for autoblogging but recommends you control your tags to 3. My question is, with the Hotfeed script, how do you control the number of tags to 2 or3? |

Feedwordpress has an option to either create tags or categories. I am playing around with it now since i think i had set feedwordpress so it didnt create any tags. You can also try other plugins which pull RSS feeds, there might be a bunch out there. WP-O-Matic sounds good to me too, but i have problems with it under 2.7.

Also, in partial answer to the monetization question you can run it in a semi manual mode meaning that you could check Google Trends manually for specific keywords related to say gadgets. If there is a gadget related keyword in position 34 on hot trends you could (I think) set Hotfeed to post immediately for Keyword 34. As I say, I have only played for a couple of hours but the potential is there!

Georg, Is the code encrypted or can we alter/modify it? Will it work in a widget on the side bar of WP or in Blogger? I'm wondering about adjusting the size of the text basically for starters Thanks Please Advise Dave P.S. How hard/easy is it to install? |

it works with whatever app can receive normal RSS feeds. If there is a RSS widget it can also pull this feed. The script has occasional problems on certain host configurations under PHP4. It works and has been tested on PHP5. Installation itself is not difficult, you basically only have to upload it to your site. If your site is PHP4 you can upload it to a PHP5 site and just use the URL of that site instead. |

What about security? Can someone use your Hotfeed url to power their own sites at your expense? Essentially I'm talking about someone stealing your feed if they know the url of your Hotfeed site. Elliott |

update: I myself have three sites right now where i have hotfeed running, as of now *each* of those site is indexed in google with approx 3800 (!) pages, and growing. I also had several customers reporting that they occasionally received massive uniques/day just from running hotfeed. One particular customer reported a few thousand uniques a day on his adsense site, depending on the current trend keywords and search volume. This WSO has a LOT of potential! G. |

Bought this and having fun playing and experimenting but have one question. Anybody know of a way to restrict or choose the number of "items" the feed shows? I don't really want it to post 25 items from youtube every time. I looked in feedwordpress but couldn't see a way of say posting just 2 everytime it runs |

Hello Georg, Say I am having a heck of a time getting any type of feed back from my installation of HOTFeed. I have added my receipt, and used the proper formatting. However rss to blog fails, feedwordpress say's "no feed could be found" and google reader says the same thing. Please advise (I emailed you as well). |

Some might know that i also run several other blogs, like autoblogs where i use caffeinated content or yaab or other autoblog plugins. There is an interesting observation, and i already posted over at BHW forum: My "garbage" sites like NITRO RSS - TOP NEWS and HEADLINES where i installed hotfeed for testing purposes is indexed with currently 4470 pages in Google. Depending on hotfeed keyword i get 100+/- daily uniques on the sites - a garbage blog where is NEVER did any ANY seo or whatsoever. This is amazing since the site only has the hotfeed and it pulls content from Google News, Yahoo News, Yahoo - and in comparison i have blogs with Caffeinated Content but they get barely over 200 pages indexed in Google. It is far *easier* to get thousands (!) of pages indexed and get some traffic on a blog using Hotfeed and the RSS feeds as opposed to articles with other autoblog plugins!! G. |

| So you can specify what keyword to pull for and IF it is in the Google trends top 100 searches for that 20 minute time frame it will pull that feed? Or do you have to pull everything? Could this work for a more narrowly focused niche blog?

Hello, the keywords on google trends can change dynamically and are not predictable. You can however specify a position of keywords to pull...but it would not make sense in addition to "filter" out for certain keywords since its really never predicatable what keyword(s) are in the hot trends at a given moment. Then basically everyones site would be the same right? They would be an amalgm of current "hot feeds"...the same feeds for everyone. I suppose this could increase visitor value to your blog and help with general untargeted traffic.

UPDATE: Well, yesterday on the forum someone mentioned a WP plugin "twitter poster" in conjunction with WP autblogs. Now, THIS really made my brain "click" - i NEVER would've thought about it! So i plugged "twitter poster" in one of my blogs which gets news with my hotfeed WSO...and its insane: I am getting so many followers, crazy. This plugin basically posts every new post to my twitter account! EVEN MORE TRAFFIC!! What happens now: My site gets the newest trends with the hotfeed WSO....and the twitter plugin posts any new postings post to twitter!! BEAUTIFUL |

| ![]() I had 2903 unique visitors today thanks to my hotfeed tool. I also took some advice from another thread and in addition installed a plugin called "twitter poster". I also updated several plugins on this wordpress blog, and ever since i am seeing massive traffic. None of this traffic is "fake"..its real visitors coming from the search engines. A few days ago, this blog was indexed with 44.000 (!!) pages in google, this can always variy and can fluctuate, right now it is at 18.000 pages. |

Hey Mick, the feeds are "hard coded" right now. The code is not the "cleanest", really. I also do some pretty dirty tricks...and i have to do specific operations with each feed which are different for each feed and cannot be generalized - i would have to write routines for each extra RSS source. However, if you pull google news, yahoo news you can be sure this covers 99% of nes whats out there, and the best option of course is the youtube videos. I am aware tho that this tool has developed into something which has WAYYYY more potential than i ever dreamed of, and i will need to overhaul the code and add options/features in the near future for sure. |

Hi George, You must have blown out the internet with all that traffic! I can't get your sites to come up right now. I'll try again in the morning. How much revenue are you earning with all the visitors? Are they staying on the site long enough to look at the ads? It certainly looks interesting! Thanks! Judy |

yes guys, i had a TERRIBLE day yesterday. I had to move MANY sites to a new host, and then i did some "experimenting" which resulted in many sites down. All sites should be up again now. The main problem is using certain autoblogger plugins (like yaab) and the tweeting and RSS pulling..AND the traffic...and yes...it puts quite some load on the servers. G. |

GeorgR, I'm curious, can you explain how( or what plugin) you use to incorporate the feeds into the posts page, as seen on your website wptrends. I have used rss feeds before but have always put them in the sidebar with the wp rss tool. Is it easy to put them onto your main page? Thanks. Mick edit: have since found wpomatic plugin, is this what you use? |

I have a difficult time in seeing anyone replicate your results. How can you seo your blog if its dynamically bringing up content from various niches and topics, most with no relation to one another? How would you even know what keywords to optimize for? Not only that, shouldn't the fact that new content is being pumped out every so often, shouldn't that be enough to bring your site to the top of the search results for whatever the latest trend topic is? Why should I need SEO at all if im using hotfeed? And also, since about 3 people asked you so far with no response, how much revenue is this autoblog tool bringing in for you on avg.? Cite just one of these blogs as an example, and please dont tell us what one could POTENTIALLY make using it. We want to know about what's already been made from your results. |

dagenius, i just had a customer email me he installed HF and got 50 uniques the very next day on a *brand new* blog. (Which surprised me because you really, really at least need to give google a chance to index) And yes, with SEO i dont mean extensive SEO, but at least leave a few backlinks, makes it easier. The rest is indeed "automatic" since, if you use wordpress, traffic will come sooner or later, not only from Google but also from other blogs. Your WP blog will ping out each new post..and so forth....traffic will come. As for my own earnings: To be honest, i am using my "demo sites" mainly for selling Hotfeed and not using Hotfeed as i would intend for other marketers to use it, eg. with AdSense or CPA. The time when i had those thousands of daily visitors i made like a couple hundred bucks with adsense in those peak days - but it stopped when my site got de-indexed because of my autoblogging to twitter which got me into trouble. So..i cannot tell you anything else than its on you you to monetize the traffic, there are MANY factors playing a role. I wish i could put a hard number on it but i simply cant. All i can tell you is that you will get traffic from it, rest depends on your site-layout, how long people stay on the site, what ads you display, CTR rates |

Google trends now limits it's hot trend display to just 20 now. However, is this still affective? Is this software even supported anymore? Thanks, Emerson |
