how long does it take to setup theme? can you show a video?

It is as simple as uploading via Wordpress auto install or via FTP and activating it. create your posts as normal and add a featured image and the theme will take care of the rest.

Sliders require manual upload if images via the Admin panel and initiated by checking a box to display on the home page. Straight forward really but I'll get a demo video up by tomorrow

This looks fantastic! I have a question, though: When we enter our data on the Wordpress site is it automatically updated to the Facebook version or do we have to enter the data twice?

Good question!

The Fanpage theme is a stand alone theme and is installed on its own Wordpress site - any changes you make on this site are automatically reflected on your Fanpage tab.

The main theme is installed on the main site where you want to pull traffic to using the Facebook Fanpage. The separation of the two sites is designed to avoid duplicate content and to facilitate for ethical marketing to drive traffic to your main site.

With that said you can display content from your main site on your Fanpage tab by the use of an RSS feeder plugin or an auto poster plugin that pulls content from a specific URL (i.e. your main site) - A quick search on Google or at wordpress.org will bring up a number of free plugins to use for this purpose.

Okay.... this leads to more questions!

1. There have been WSOs recently regarding high rankings achieved by Facebook fan pages, better even than established websites and in much less time. If this is indeed true, would you need to build a full website linked to another full website in the form of a Fan Page or would you just build a simple website with links to your Facebook Fan Page and make the Fan page the main focus?

i.e., Main Office = main site with Wordpress install
Shop front = Facebook pages promoting product and/or services

2. RSS feeds: I read that Facebook no longer allows RSS feeds to Fan Pages. If this is true how does this relate to your offer? Do you avoid this issue by posting to a Wordpress installation rather than directly to a fan page?

3. Is duplicate content really an issue given that the information will be appearing for all intents and purposes on 2 totally separate sites? i.e., your website and Facebook

OK, the first question is beyond the scope of this WSO - so in brief, it all depends on how you wish to market your business. Facebook is a high traffic website hence why the content there caries more weight in SERPS. You have a choice of either a) channeling a portion of that traffic back to your main site (Office/Shop) or taking product to where the traffic is (The market!)

Q2: The RSS content is fed to your Wordpress install site which is then ported to Facebook Fanpage via the APP (iframe) - Facebook does not allow RSS to be sent directly to their own hosted sections of the site i.e. The Wall/Timeline.

Q3: In terms of Google and other search engines, duplicate content is not so much an issues - as in there are no severe penalties. But yes, unique content carries more weight in terms of ranking in SERPS.

At the end of the day its all about balance, ethics and savvy marketing to boost brand, product and business awareness - one could do it entirely on their main site or entirely on Facebook as long as they achieve the desired results right?
