I signed up for Octavyo's service a little under two months ago for two keywords. Before he started work we discussed a few keywords that I have been working on and Octavyo gave some great advice. After an excellent dialogue, I picked two keywords that had been ranking >200 for the past few months. The keywords have a SerpIQ difficulty rating of 47 and 50.

Thank you for your question. The latest Google update have seriously affected blog networks but since i`m not using them i can`t say that this update has affected the sites i`m currently working on.

Some of those networks was great in helping with then rankings but that was the last year. Even from the moment they begun to appear i was aware that it will only be a measure of time before Google notices those and take actions against them. Those networks are not respecting the Google TOS because the sites in the network are there with the only purpose of publishing content with backlinks. This makes them "content farms" which like we all know Google is getting rid of.

I would recommend to every person to stay away from those networks.

Google want now authority sites with original content, content that provides great value for the readers and content that people would be more likely to bookmark, share, like, tweet etc.

In the next period I will analyze more in-depth each site that i`m currently working on and i will give my clients some advices regarding things they can improve to have high-quality sites.

I`m creating backlinks for all type of sources, but i don`t have an exact amount of backlinks/day to create. I usually start slow and increase over the 90 days period. Some sites requires less backlinks to rank while others qill require more so practically i`m creating as much as necessary to rank a site.

Thank you for your question. I`ve spend weeks reading about the latest updates.

According to Google they are against people which are "over-optimizing" sites to rank high or use black hat techniques. I`m not doing any of those two.

My strategies still bring me and my clients great results because they follow Google guidelines when it comes to backlinks.

What i currently noticed is sites experiencing drops in rankings because of their user experience and site navigation.

Let me explain better with my own case study :

I`ve had a personal site of mine ranking on page 2 for a keyword with good competition.

I`ve build more quality backlinks to the site and I was hoping to rank higher but one day my site got slapped. It was on page 10 or so of Google and i didn`t know why.

I had that site added in my Google Webmaster tools account so i switched to see if i had some message from Google explaining why i`ve got slapped.

I saw no message from them so i thought it was the natural Google dance. A few days back i`ve checked and i was still far from page 2 where i was before. Then i implement new strategies which i will talk about in a new post .

Practically what i did was i`ve took a break and i didn`t build any backlink at this point. I have edited my posts i have removed the affiliate banners that i`ve had , i have deleted the exit pop-up plugin, i have added social buttons on each of my post (google +1, facebook like share, twitter buttons etc) i have added a rel ="nofollow" tag next to my affiliate links.

In 2 days or so after doing this my site appeared straight to page one and from then i`m rising to the top . I`m still experiencing a Google dance which is normal for a brand new site but i`m very happy with the results. My traffic have increased and is increasing every day.

LIKE I SAID I WILL MAKE A NEW POST EXPLAINING THE ON-PAGE OPTIMIZATION YOU AND OTHER CAN APPLY TO IMPROVE THE USER EXPERIENCE AND MAKE GOOGLE LOVE YOUR SITE

HOW TO MAKE YOUR SITES PANDA & PENGUIN PROOF!!!!

In this post i will outline some tactics which i`m using on my own sites with great results. It`s important that you implement those strategies asap if you want to get better seo results.

1.USE ONLY UNIQUE HIGH-QUALITY CONTENT : Never ever use spun content on your site. When you write the content make sure it provides great value for the readers

6. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A VERY SMALL NUMBER OF AFFILIATE LINKS : I would recommend no more than 3 affiliate links. Also is crucial to add a nofollow tag to each of them. This way you are telling the search engines NOT to index those backlinks. To add this tag just switch to html view and near the source write rel="nofollow".

7. ADD SOCIAL SIGNS TO EACH OF YOUR POSTS : I recommend "1 Click Retwet, share like" plugin for wordpress. This plugin will add google +1`s facebook share, like, twitter pinterest stumbleupon buttons. Encourage social activity on your site. The more "social" you get the better rankings you will get as well as it`s a proven fact that a strong social presence leads to better rankings.

8. IMPROVE YOUR SITE LOADING SPEED : For this purpose I recommend "HyperCache" plugin for wordpress. Just install it and activate. That`s all you have to do. Google (and also people) don`t like a site that takes forever to load. This plugin is your solution to fix this. Make sure you use it.

9. CREATE CATEGORIES BASED ON YOUR KEYWORD(S): For example if your target keyword is "weight loss" is helpfull to create a category inside your site named "weight loss information" for example and add all those posts related to weight loss in that category.

10. DON`T USE SEO-OPTIMIZATION PLUGINS ON YOUR POSTS : For example if you have a post named "Weight loss without medication" don`t try to optimize that particular post for search engines by stuffing keywords or putting them in "h" tags. From what I saw recently this could make the search engines think that you are "artificially" trying to get top rankings with that particular post. The only post optimization you want to have is to have the keyword in your title and 1-2 times in the body and that`s all.

What I recommend to use is "Platinum SEO Pack" for your site. This plugin will optimize your site for your keyword. After you install "Platinum SEO Pack" go to the seetings of the plugin scroll down and you will see 7 options that begins with the word "nofollow". Make sure you put a checkmark next to all 7. We do this because we don`t want the link juice to be spread to your inner pages. We want it to be focused on the homepage for SEO purposes

11. EMBED AND MAKE USE OF VIDEOS: If you have time I recommend to create yourself a youtube channel and make some short videos about the keyword/service you`re promoting. Make sure you put a link back to your site in each of those videos and embed those videos as well in your posts.

12. GUEST BLOGGING : This is the most ideal panda&penguin proof to grow your website naturally. Practically it involves writing unique articles that provide great value for users on big blogs in your market. If you promote a weight loss product you might want to search for big blogs in the health&fitness market that accept guest posting. Make sure your article is unique and most important make sure it provides great value for the readers. Once the article will be published on the blog you will receive a backlink to your site. This has 2 advantages. One you will have relevant backlinks which is exactly what Google wants; those backlinks would be high-quality since they will come from a reputable website in your industry and the second advantage is that you will also get targeted traffic from that submission. I see people getting 1k+ visitors everyday to their sites by using this technique alone.


Make sure you apply those strategies on your sites as well. I had some personal sites which was far from page one and i have managed to bring them from nowhere to page one by using only those techniques !!!

Also make sure you keep an eye on this post as i will update it frequently with new strategies. The techniques described here will transform your site into an authority one which is exactly what Google wants !

I would say "yes" to your question as well. Try to have your site as simple as possible when it comes to design and functions. Regarding twitter use the plugin I recommend.

Great question Sir. I vote for anchor text diversity. Now more than ever is crucial to diversify your anchor text as much as possible. (hint : you can use synonyms as well). By diversifying your anchor text you will build a natural link profile. Think about it for a second : Let`s say you want to rank for "weight loss" and all your anchor text are "weight loss". Google will see every link pointing to your site with the "weight loss" anchor. This is spam nowadays. It was working great a few years ago but not anymore.

Instead Google see your anchors as "wight loss" "wight loss guide" "best weight loss diet" "weight loss plan".

You see the difference ? The second option is the link profile you want to get. It`s like people linking to your site and each of them are using a different anchor.


Regarding blog networks I vote against them yes, however there are 2 ones which i`m testing for 2 of my personal sites right now but there is a huge difference between a blog network and the ones i`m using. First of all the sites it submits my articles to, are in the same category as mine, they are owned by real people not by the blog network and they have good traffic and a solid social presence (very important).They are NOT sites build for backlinking purposes. It`s like guest blogging which btw i recommend you to do if you can.

I also have my sites added into my Google Webmaster Account where Google itself shows me the links to my site and all of them are great (manually checked to ensure) So far i`m on page one for a competitive keyword and i haven`t had any drops even after the Penguin update.

I think it would be better in this case that your sticky posts to show a paragraph or two and then to have a "read more" link that will take the reader to the entire article.
