On html sites, it works right out of the box. On Wordpress sites, it takes a couple of extra keystrokes. The video on how to use it on Wordpress will be done in just a few minutes and posted in the members/download area.

This works great on wordpress. The 'tweak' takes about 30 seconds. Literally, it's adding a / in one spot and the whole url to your site in another.

I've almost completely sworn off of buying any more WSO's.

Armin - there are 2 BIG reasons and I cover both of them in the manual. Both are STRONG and Effective. One has to do with the thought process and the pain of buying and the other is preserving value. I also cover one large company that uses a "covert code" and even denies that it exists - and yet it probably accounts for more subscribers than any other segment of their business.

Long and short of it: if Dell, GoDaddy, Walmart and thousands of other online merchants use the strategy - do you think they use it because it decreases sales?

They use it because it DOES work - and has been proven in clinical trials to reduce buyer resistance.

And that person that is on your site and is READY to BUY NOW? They are going to buy anyway. Its the other 98% that this strategy is targeting.

I have a couple of feature request because without these I find this script of minimal use to me...

1) what use is hiding the download page URL? Okay so now people cant share the download page URL but its just as easy for them to share the code and the code entry page, and this will get anyone else to the download page, no??
If this is so then really its all hype and anyone who wants to can still share the discount code just as easilly as if the URL was not hidden.
So my suggestion is that you make it possible to set an expiry time for each code, then at least we dont have to go back and disable a code to stop people using it. We can also create scarcity anxiety by telling them that the code will expire at a certain time.

2) the second problem is that once they get to the download page I will have a link to download my freebie. What is to stop them sharing this link directly? Its not encoded. So without this functionality I cant provide a pdf file or a zip file as the bonus :-(
If you would make it possible to make the final page that people arrive at after entering their code a NON php page then at least I could use Wordpress with a link obfuscating plugin so that they cannot copy the download link. Without this... well, would you please explain using the system as you describe it how to provide a protected download link that cannot be easily shared?

Just to re-iterate -
Your script hides the URL of a php page until a correct code is provided, and your selling point is that the visitor cannot share the URL.
BUT they can just as easily share the code and code submission page, AND if anything is given away by a link on the php page that they then arrive at they can simply share the direct download link.
Did I miss something here ... ?
