(at the time of writing this) it is not a feature, but you could possibly find a way to do this by putting your Video Player code into a lightbox or something similar. I will look into this and see what is out there. Another option you could do, is have a thumbnail image, that opens a new window to the video. The video Player does generate a link that has it's own single page to preview the video. (its located at the very bottom of the video code generator under the preview)

There's a bunch of video players coming out with this opt-in feature as well as other great features, such as Facebook sharing and Twitter, etc., so I'm hoping you'll soon give us this ability in an upgrade! Terry

I too just realized there is a competitor product that has just been launched that has optin-form overlays where you can define at what point into the video it appears and disappears, FB share/connect, YT subscribe etc all inside (or technically speaking: overlaying) the video player. What I do prefer in the CVP though is that it gives me an encoded video link that I can place on any website, WP or static HTML based - unlike this other product which only works on the very WP site it is installed on. Matt, how much server resources does using CVP actually generate? Say we run a YT hosted video through the CVP options, grab the CVP unique embed code and embed the video on this or another site. Let's assume 1,000 people view this video in a day ... while the actual video is playing from Youtube, the skin and other options are generated dynamically each time the video is called, correct? |

Matthew, By my question, I'm going to show my ignorance here in these matters, but can CVP be used when a video is uploaded to our own server, or only from YouTube? I'm also interested in the answer to Rolliesworld's question. Thanking you in advance, Terry |

If you are using a YouTube video, it's going to use very little bandwidth, the video streams through the player, so you're not using up any bandwidth for the actual video. As for the player itself, we're talking less than 80 kb (0.080mb) in total! So for a thousand people all viewing at the same time, possibly 80mb! LOL

| Mate it is! Actually was spending some time of review our progress here, and it looks like we may very well be able to include it in our 1.6 release, which is all about mobile device compatibility! If for some reason not, it will be following right after. I'm expecting to have 1.6 out this month, early next at the latest! Quote:

I have a question regarding video marketing. I watched your video and everything that you said about YouTube makes perfect sense. Is it really a bad thing to post your videos on YouTube? Can a blogger post a video on YouTube and have that traffic goes to your blog? With that being said, say a user is doing a keyword search, that will take the user to your site since they found the video on Google. With the Custom Video player doesn't that sort of eliminate more traffic? I hope I'm not going too far off subject with the purpose of Custom Video Player. |

Yes, this might be going a bit outside the thread here into Video Marketing Training wich is a massive topic and there are literally hundreds of great ways to do it using both with and without YouTube together with the Custom Video Player. They do not work against each other, and being a video marketer myself, I designed this to be extremely flexible to give the end user full flexibility to use it how they like and see most affective.

What you don't want, especially on a sales page or a squeeze page, is people clicking out on any non-monetized link. Clicking out to YT, for example. That is where CVP comes in (and for a whole load of other reasons such as customization etc. too). So before CVP, I would put one video on S3 for the squeezepage and wrestle with video players to stream it and also I would put it on YT for 'passing traffic' with a link below to the squeeze page. Now I just upload one video to YT and I can use CVP to play the video on my site. I optimize the video to rank in YT & Google and also optimize the video on the site using CVP with a video site map to rank that one too in Google. Sometimes, if a video is embedded with YT embed code, it can help that video get ranked both inside YT and in Google, so where I am not bothered about the click out to YT then I would maybe not use CVP. So, to answer your question, using CVP gives you the best of both worlds....a video that you can play in a customized player on your site, optimized for search engines and social sharing and without a non-monetized click out and, at the same time, your same video being ranked in YT with a link to your offer page just below

![]() Version 1.6 coming soon with many new features I believe. But I agree, these optin forms and CTA link buttons placed at set times inside the video (as an overlay) are killer features...I bet Matt can do this, too ![]() In addition to these options inside the player, the option to have html code (i.e. add to cart, optin form, etc) appear UNDERNEATH the video at set times would be great also. Maybe such an additional java script can be included since the embed code is in an iframe? Then again, I wonder if this would display properly on mobile devices?

I'm not quite sure you get what responsive means for video and responsive themes... It would be great if your product was made to actually allow for responsive use, ie when a window size changes, so does the video size: See an example here: Premier US Visa 1-855-777-6225 | Premium US Visa Service where if you drag the side of your window smaller the video scales when it needs to to fit its container. Are you planing on making CVP responsive in the next update now that you know what responsive means?

Excellent question and we are working on this.Certainly know what you mean, as I was designing responsive sales pages many years ago when it was all new! Actually today there are some really cool ways to implement this into progressive sites and we will be adding this very soon to the Custom Video Player. So yes!

Awesome! this is good to hear! what do you think your timeline is for integrating responsive design? Also after using the player for a while I thought of a great addition you could add as well... the ability to save your settings... kind of like a template... it really is a pain in the butt to retype all the custom settings after closing the code generators url... and then coming back a few days later when I have another video that is very similar i.e. has the same logo or starting image width height player theme type etc etc. Also sorry to sound like an a-hole in my last post thinking you didn't know about responsive design... of course you do! Thanks! |

Hi, the player looks great. My question to you is, how does this player work with getting videos to play on all networks? I am not sure how I can customize this so if you are on an iPad, you can play a video, or if you are on an older computer you can play the video. I know that there is coding to get a video to play on all platforms. (I don't know how to do this) but my question is how does this player work with that? Thanks, I look forward to hearing back from you. Best, |

You can already cover the YouTube logo if you want, just put your own logo over the top, or use even use the Mask feature. These features are covered in the Bonus Training that follows the purchase of the Custom Video Player.

Currently, it will play all YouTube videos on all platforms. We are just about release 1.6 which allows you to setup your direct video files for mobile devices. It takes 3 different video formats to set a video correctly so it plays on all mobile devices, this is for any video and any video player. We are going to cover this with follow up training as we release version 1.6.

Unsolicited Review: Awesome! I just purchased CVP a few days ago and all I can say is Awesome! I have since installed it and customized it for my site. I was a little skeptical at first but then found your demo and customized the player with my logo before I bought. At that point I was sold. CVP was super simple to install and customize. I was up and running in 5 minutes flat. The only disappointment I have is that my .PNG logo image with transparent background shows up with a black background on the player. So I was forced to use a rectangular logo image with a white background. I wasn't happy about this at first but then I realized that if the logo image had a transparent background then it wouldn't cover the YT logo as well. So it works out just fine In fact it looks amazing no matter what size I make the player. I thought for sure the YT logo would show up behind my logo in full screen mode but nope!! LOLFor my logo I tweaked every possible option and found that the medium size "fixed" player bar with a logo size of 100px width by 22px height (width depending on how many characters in your domain name - in my case 10) is the perfect balance of player bar size and logo size to cover the YT logo. 2px height smaller and you begin to see the YT logo I wanted my logo to be as unobtrusive (small) as possible. The slim player will require a larger logo and the wide player with logo covers up a little too much space on the video (IMO).That brings up a sidebar note: I read a post in this thread that was saying you can optionally remove the YT logo. True, but this is only the logo on the player itself NOT the YT logo that shows up in the video. There's no way to remove that unless you rip the video and host it yourself. I was really facing an uphill battle if I wanted to get a branded video player for my site. The thought of customizing the code of an FLV player with logo and share options would not be an easy task even for someone like me who can read/edit code. I looked at all the video players out there before deciding on CVP. They all had their pros and cons for player options and it seems like unless you want to customize code or pay a monthly fee then CVP is the best option IMO. Nice Job!! On that note... Can you please address some of the questions I have? 1) Will your player ever support transparent .PNG logos? 2) I have heard you say that version 1.6 will have save options for your videos. Can you elaborate a bit more on this? Will I be able to save all my settings for each video and edit them if needed? You kind of make it sound like we'll be able to just save global settings. If this is the case then I suggest you make it so each video gets saved in a list like wordpress posts so you can add/edit/delete them. I haven't read every post here so forgive me if I'm wrong. 3) Can you please post a list of features for version 1.6? 4) Also, this may have been asked already but can I rename the "Custom-Video-Player" folder to "Videos" without breaking the script? Thanks, you saved me a ton of time and money! |

Ok, let's hit those questions... 1. Working on this, and if your logo is the right size, it will be supported as transparent on most servers. Will update you on this when we release the 1.6 feature list (it's pretty long!) 2. At this stage, we are including a feature to save your player settings. You'll be able to name those settings as a custom video player, so you do not have to set them each time. As for saving each video, you'll have to leave that with me to see what we can do. (Will be added soon, but cannot promise for next release) 3. Not long now! 4. Yes, you can name it anything you like!

Hi mrmcd, Looks like you're ready to release the mobile version. Awesome. Couple questions. Have you tried the player with responsive wordpress themes? Do the players' youtube features work with RD? Will you be providing an html5 page we can use in conjunction with the three mobile optimized video files in the new release? I'll be buying based on your answers Mike. Thank you! |

I am also excited for being able to save your video settings... you could even take it to the next level for those who manage autoblogs with wp robot. It would be awesome if there was a way to directly insert a youtube video url into a template that would automatically apply a video template for a given url automatically. Looking forward to 1.6!

I bought Custom Video Player on the first launch and absolutely love it. Matthew has given us so many updates and great value that it's too numerous to tell you everything. It is by far a superior player and I love the variations of the player. Matthew is a great guy who has given me so much and his support is a class act. I've been using this player for about 6 months and the videos load quickly and play flawlessly. Also the ability to do overlays and redirects are great. It is easy to use and in my book is the best video player overall. I would recommend buying this right away as the price will rise quickly. Great job Matthew. Just wondering if us buyers of Custom Video Player from the first release get any new perks. Not that I'm complaining cause I love it. Morris Murphy (Murph) |

1. RD (I trust you are referring to Responsive Design), there needs to be some tweaks made for YouTube videos to work best with Responsive Design. This is one our aims for the next release. We will be thoroughly testing it and have made some great progress. 2. You will have fields for using your own Mobile Video files. We are going to cover these in the training. The code will be automatically altered depending on the device that lands on the video. Sorry I do not have the final list just yet, but our major theme for 1.6 is mobile devices, which fits perfect to include responsive sites/designs.

Yes, we have some special insider stuff lined up for existing (early bird) clients. Also, all early birds qualify for life-time updates, which is possibly not going to be apart of the standard package. The standard price for the package at this stage is around the $150, so you can still get a massive saving on getting in now!

Is there a way to have the mouseclick open the video fullscreen instead of pause/play? A client of mine is asking about this and I told him it would be fairly simple. Hope to hear from you soon!

Hi mrmcd, I am a newbie so I have a couple of questions: 1. Is this newbie friendly? Will I have step by step tutorials after I buy this amazing product? 2. I have heard that embedding a YT video will improve the ranking of my sites. Will the encrypted code I get from CVP improve the ranking just the same as embedding a YT video in the regular way? 3. I see you have tutorials on video mapping. Do you have other video SEO tactics tutorials too? Thank you in advance. |

How much is the commercial license for this and where do I buy that from? Sorry if it's in this thread somewhere I'm still ploughing through all the info and think I'm going to buy it but I have clients so I might be interested in the commercial version.
