1) Right now the comment box always shows up, but we are open to suggestions for changes.

2) This option would be against Facebook Terms of Service so we would not be adding that option.

The only text that currently can't be "localized" is the winner/loser text on the top of the thank you page.

The buttons can be replaced with your own version and the rest of the text can be changed in the editors.

The Winner/Loser text is currently generated based on the results. Localization is a common question, and the rest of our apps support it.

We will be updating this app later this week to support localization of the Winner/Loser text.

I have the same question as Bargains Paradise as there is another WSF that uses two pictures with share under one and like under the other to have FB fans vote for their favorite basketball player, celebrity, product, etc.

Only the Winner/Loser text can't be localized at the moment.

This is a common question since our Social Traffic Lab members are all around the world. We will be updating the app later this week to also allow you to override the Winner/Loser text to be localized.

Ironically, from watching the movie "The Social Network", I remember this is how FB started, when Mark Zuckerberg programmed the site to allow people to vote on college girls by showing two photos side-by-side, just like in this app! Was this intentional or pure coincidence?

So Kevin, does this mean for the update you are describing, we will be able to change the text to say something like, 1st Place and 2nd Place? I think that the word "Loser" is bit harsh...but maybe that's just me.

If I had a Vote For Your Favorite Bartender on a restaurant's FanPage, I would much prefer to Use 1st and 2nd place rather than winner and loser.

The App looks great and a lot of fun to engage users on FB. I got it on the early bird offer and I'm glad I did. Thanks!

LOL, If there is only two places, 2nd place is still the loser...

Yes, being able to set the Winner/Loser text is an easy change, the message at the top not as straight forward, but we would probably use some replacement tokens like we did on our coupon app.

Intentional, he got it from Hot or Not and applied a better voting algorithm. There was another Facebook app called ULiken that is no longer around.

Adding like and share buttons unrelated to to the actual page they are on is also against FB TOS if that is the idea you have.

I had the same problem with posts not showing up.

We are hosting the app on a dedicated server. This is our 8th app in Social Traffic Lab, with about 5000 customers.

You can use it on your own pages or pages you manage for clients.

Bought the app and it seems to have a lot of potential...however, maybe I am missing something, but I don't see how anyone will ever see my voting page...or how this is viral in any way...

Here are some of my thoughts/questions:

1) There is a "like" and "send" button at the bottom, but there is no "share" button AND the big problem is that the "like" and "send" button are to the main business timeline page, not the app/voting page. I don't see any way to "share" the voting page.

2) If I leave a comment (as myself) it shows up on my personal timeline, but again, the link is to the business main timeline page...in fact, the way it shows up on my personal timeline doesn't make any sense as the comment is related to the specific "vote" page, but the link is to the main timeline page

I think this app can be GREAT, but only if there is an easy way to share. Am I missing something?

1) "Share" has been depreciated in favor of the Like/Send by Facebook:

It looks like that issue was focused on your page for some reason.

No matter how it centered on other pages it would not on yours.

I have extended the width of the comment area to full width to resolve the issue.

Not sure if this matters because you say this is your test app but I wasnt even logged into facebook and I could vote and I could refresh the page and voted more than onetime.

It doesn't really matter to me how many times you vote or whether you are logged in.

Hi Kevin, this is a great app, and I see some potentials. However, I have a few questions before purchasing.

Is it possible, in future updates to have the option of restricting multiple voting, I mean, select whether or not the user is allowed to refresh and vote again? Think of it as some form of an intelligence gathering and viral survey and not just for engagement. If this feature could be turned off and on, this will be great.

Also in future update, is it possible to customize the output results, displaying either in percentage or the real figures? Of course for a few votes, you may want to show the percentages, but when there are enough votes, in tens or hundreds of thousands, you definitely want people to see that, and that will explode the viral nature of the particular campaign.

Imagine when one candidate is beating the other with a few hundred votes, and multiple voting is disallowed, the human ego steps in to avoid defeat, and thereby creating a fierce contest with each party soliciting for more votes and directly increasing unique engagements in a viral nature.

Multiple / unique engagement should be key here, and not having one individual engage with the app a hundred or more times. Doesn't help the campaign go viral.

Unfortunately, Facebook recently changed their API so the User_ID which we would need to track uniques is only available if the user authorized your app. In our experience, app authorization is a roadblock that stops the flow of the interaction and raises concerns by the visitors as far as what information you are really getting and how you are going to use it.

A second option that may work would be to cookie the user after voting and check the cookie to see if they already voted on the initial screen. This would also allow you to set a time limit option so they could vote once a day/week/month, eic.

I can see this as a good feature for a page that is getting a lot of traction. I will add it to our enhancements list to be included on an options tab in the app.

That one is kinda funny (at least I think so...) I also made another for my real estate company where visitors can vote for which house they like better...after their vote they are brought to a link for the MLS listing for the house they chose...

By updating this app with some of the suggestions on this thread it will be awesome. I would really like to be able to create multiple voting pages. I could see creating a new vote each week for my real estate site...I could do rooms, pools, views, local stuff etc.. And, of course, I want to be able to l
like/send directly to the app page.
