It was Spring Break last week, and 2 of my kids begged to see The Hunger Games on a Monday. We had sat down for breakfast at IHOP, and happily began discussing the book and movie.

I'm not going to go into the details, but the first thing I noticed at IHOP was....the menu. Marketer that I am, I was drawn by the visuals of gloriously delicious food and the headlines used....and idly thought to myself, "Ahah! That's one reason why this place is hoppin' at 8:30am!"

It all starts with a money seed, you know.

...A money seed that grows and if well-watered and tended to lovingly...sprouts into a garden more magnificent than the Cherry Blossoms in DC.

My girls and I leisurely finished our breakfast, and then arrived at the movie theater. One of our favorite games is to play "Guess The Previews!":

• Will it be a fantasy?
  
• Will it be a feel-good movie?
  
• Or maybe....something else?

In this case, it was nothing like that at all - instead, it was "Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23".

You know what stood out to me the most? The comments from the actors included:

• "This is the most outrageous fun viewers can have!!"
• "Every week I look at the script and say, Man, we're going *that* far??"

And I mentioned to my kids, "Hey there, notice how the audience is promised fun and laughter? They can escape their daily life for half an hour of pure enjoyment!"

And the money seed.... started to grow.

Then the preview for The Avengers came on.

The Avengers!

• Comic book characters!
• Larger-than-life!
• Escapism with a capital E!

Something, though...something was *still* missing.

But not for long.

The movie began (and talk about a compelling film!). We got to the part where the heroine was being interviewed for her upcoming participation in The Hunger Games....

And that's when it hit me with the force of 928 nuclear detonations.

I vividly (vividly!) remember this because I was sitting between my girls and raised my hand to the screen and said in wonder and determination outloud:

"That's IT."

And it was.

You see, right now, chances are....you're going about it all *wrong* on Pinterest.

You're trying to promote yourself and tell people, Hey! Follow me!

Does this talk about specific ways to monetize Pinterest? I don't have a grasp as to how people are doing it, if they really are. For example, I have a few pins that link to my Zazzle products, and some that link to one of my Adsense-monetized sites, but I haven't seen any traffic, much less sales, as a result. (Also, I'm in a state where Amazon does not have associates, due to tax issues, if that's one of the recommended monetizations.)

Disclaimer: I received a copy of this product for review purposes, but have not seen the OTO, so my review is based upon the main PDF alone. However, whether a purchased copy or a free review copy, the results will ALWAYS be the same. I will do my best to extract all the necessary information you need to make a well-educated buying decision.

This is a rather lengthy PDF, weighing in at about 60+ pages overall, but don't let that fool you, as it is a quick read. Now, what stuck me odd or shocked me about this product and it's tie in with Pinterest as a whole, was it seemed like a mindmap of how my day went! I guess I just found it intriguing that anyone would really be interested in how a person's day unfolded, assuming that they really did enjoy those “foods”, sights (true or fictional), etc. throughout their day, only to finalize with something that you hope will lead to a sale.

What was unique about this situation was that I somehow expected it to be “related” pins/steps leading your followers to the kill, so to speak and that simply was not the case. Though, I still don't fully understand how unrelated items would entice others to click a link to purchase something (YET), I must say, I love how Barb's mind works! That's why Barb's writing the book and NOT me! LOL That said, my mind is spinning with ideas of my own to try. Ideas that would no doubt have laid dormant and would not have surfaced without this product.

In her usual fashion, Barb begins by giving you a list of what you need before beginning “The Pinning Games”. In addition, I loved page 4 which leads you through the process of the required steps to get you started on your way. Not only that, she includes plenty of urls for you to see examples of the information she's trying to portray to the reader, as well as her step-by-step screenshot loaded instructions. That way, you always have a road make to complete the task as expected.

Now for this information to really sink in, I chose to reread “The Pinning Games”, so I could get a grasp how the whole picture comes together using totally unrelated items! It's almost like a dance, you just have to waltz your way to “win the girl” in the end, so to speak.

Then, Barb tells you how to:
*Choose your niche

*Set up your ________ __________ to increase you success in getting great pictures and information to post.

*Search for your niche information (search queries)

*Set up your tabs and folders, as well as, and collect the information you need and want to pull from for easy of use.

*How to connect Pinterest and Facebook to leverage this method

Without question, I need to find a picture of a “Queen of Royalty” wearing her gold-laden crown to put on Barb's head, with PINTEREST in huge red letters, as Barb is quickly becoming the PINTEREST QUEEN on the WF that people need to follow!

Once again, Barb has done the hard work for us, and like all good PINTEREST members, we have, but to follow her lead.
