I have not found many things in my life that have excellent value ... that were given away for free.

This is the exception and the content is well put together and useful.

There are quite a few screen-shots included that make this pleasant to learn from, even if you are a new Internet marketer.

They have included many options with details that allow you to make decisions on which niche or keywords that you wish to use.

The guide covers all the key steps that need to be taken to build sites. It’s equally applicable to adsense, Clickbank or amazon etc.

I wish I'd had this 5 years ago it would have saved me 1000's of hours and many miss-steps.

Got the free Ebook last week thanks, I have been following you guys for a while on your blog.
You've given some great advice in this guide and I've added these to my game.
However my sites took a tanking overnight in the latest algo update, how have you guys faired in this latest slap? Have you benefited in rankings or took a dive like a see a lot of niche site builders have?
I see there are guys with with big authority portfolios getting hit too, because they've been using article spinning backlinking packages.
It's a nightmare right now, no sooner we try a new technique the door gets salmmed shut.

@patch1308 - Great to hear you're getting some value out of the guide, but I feel your pain on the latest algo update.

As best I can tell (so far) we're not seeing any dramatic shifts across the board, although we regularly have some sites dropping, some sites gaining, etc.

We're member of a private forum, though, and some of the members there are freaking out a bit as they've seen a TON of movement...most of it not good for them. The consensus among them is (this is far from fact, just what a few of them have observed) is that some of their sites with more links, social signals, etc. have taken more of a hit than those with less links and more age. Squeaky clean sites and some of the gray-ish sites...both took hits. Overall, though, they're noticing the SERPS are looking quite odd. A few examples:

Search for "make money online" and you get: makemoneyforbeginners.blogspot.com a blank site...odd...

Search for "new shoes" and you're getting this in the top 10: Interpretive Simulations - NewShoes - (Intro to Marketing, Marketing Principles)

Someone else said a search for "viagra" was looking quite strange as well.

Give it some time and see how it ultimately plays out...but if it's this bad, they'll definitely be tweaking here soon...

Paul, could you be more specific about this issue with article spinning backlink packages? Does this involve article directories, Web 2.0 sites or a blog network? This Google algorithm change sounds fairly new to me.

I've done a bit of digging around today and it seems like a pretty big update. My sites were spammy and crap so they deserved to get a kicking ulimately. However it seems there's some pretty decent sites getting ticked off when you do a bit of reading.

We've seen movement in the rankings of our sites, some good and some bad, but the overall effect seems to be minimal across an extremely diverse range of niches. Looking individually or in small groups, however, and there are some clear "winner" and "loser" sites.

Ultimately, our honest opinion is that building niche sites is the best way to "cut your teeth" in Internet Marketing. Niche marketing will not go away. There are more and more longtails appearing in search each day/week/month/year. That trend is expected to continue for quite some time. That's not to say that the game won't change or that a higher quality won't be expected...that probably will be the case. But...the argument that "niche marketing is dead" seems to be more fear-based than reality-based, in my opinion.

Hey guys great stuff. I'm not in the niche site business but I am active in SEO and I found this guide really helpful particularly:

• The keyword research section
• The broad / exact match equation (very interesting, hadn't thought about that before)
• The analysis of competitors on the front page of Google

I found it so good I'm writing an ebook on my long tail keyword method and for the keyword research section I'm going to tell the advanced readers to check out your guide (hope that's ok).

This is not only great content, it's very well presented and more than useful to SEO people whether they are in the niche site business or not.
