What the Wordpress Plugin does, is to enable ratings to appear next to your search engine result.

Here is one I did last night and by the time I woke up this morning was already there:



There definitely are other plugins out there which can do something similar. However, the difference with mine is the simplicity.

1. Add or Edit a post
2. Tick a box to show ratings
3. Choose how many ratings and how many stars

And off you go...

As you will see, I am also offering it at an extremely low price. The reason is because I am testing out a few features on this plugin and want to be 100% sure that everything is smooth and dandy.

For example, I am using ioncube which works on 99% of hosts out there. So if you are in doubt, then the likelihood is that you will be fine.

- option to display rating above or below your post. You can also turn off the display of ratings, although Google will still display it in your ratings - Pretty Cool

Next update will make stars clickable to add new ratings...

Important Update

Please note, that due to a bug fix, I have released a new version (1.1.1).

If you are a customer you should have received an email via aweber but if you didn't for any reason then please make sure that you update to the latest version from the members' area.

The update solves the error at line 0 in functions.php

Trying to get another version out later today with a few additional features - obviously at no extra charge for current customers.

FEATURES UPDATE:

1. You can now use this on pages as well as posts


2. You can choose to rate out of 5 instead of 10


3. I have added a feature which will randomly add extra ratings to your site. What this means is, that every 10 or so times that your page/post is viewed, an extra rating will be added which is either equal to your current stars or +-1. This allows it to seem as if your site is being update in G's eyes.

For new members, the new version (1.1.0) has been added to the members' area.

For current members, you should be prompted to download a new update in your dashboard. It can sometimes take up to an hour for the update to appear. Alternatively, you can just delete your current version and upload the new one.

And of course...no charge for updates

I am looking at your example site and I do not see any stars or reviews on the site itself. Is that functionality not provided, just the google rich snippet code?

If you look on that page, you will see the review and also the number of stars which are provided.

However, the main aspect of the plugin is to get the stars in the search engine results.

I know what you mean. You should see my wife though. She types on the ipad faster than I can type on a normal keyboard.

My biggest problem with using an iPad is when people use incompatible flash video for salesvideos. Bed is a perfect time to watch them!

Very little similarity from what I can see. From their page:

"WP Customer Reviews allows your customers and visitors to leave reviews or testimonials of your services. "

My plugin allows the stars to appear by your search engine results according to the rating which you give your post.

Ben, just bought and installed this, and it is excellent.

We actually paid a programmer last year to create an application that delivers some of what yours does (at a cost that was 30x higher than what you're charging for yours today by the way) and the results we've seen after using it privately the past few months are dramatic.

For both our own sites and our client sites, the traffic increases are significant, and more importantly the clicks & buys are absolutely higher.

Leave it to a Warrior to develop something that's actually easier to use than ours is, for far less money...got to love this forum.

Having this in search results is an excellent idea, I have already done something along those lines with an author tag so this could be an excellent addition.
I am in the real estate niche though and it would probably be beneficial if I could allow customers/visitors to add ratings themselves - is there an option for this plugin?

Ala makes a good point. I was about the buy the plugin until I saw this requirement. ionCube is used to encode PHP code so that it cannot be read. Sorry, but any plugin that hides the code could be hiding something much more than simple microformat code. That is not the way to produce a WordPress plugin. Please consider dropping the ionCube requirement.

Is this any different than WP Review Stars which I bought last month. Seems similar, but this one is half price, and maybe the ion Cube thing, which, btw, does it affect other plugins using php if you have it loaded for this one? I know zip about ion Cube so excuse the ignorance, just noticed Tdogger saying it affected the php and I may have another plugin using php, so curious.

First off, I would also like the functionality of the plugin to be extended to PAGEs too, and not just to POSTs.

Second, I'm having trouble activating the plugin on my blog, as I have the same error message like the one KCNL is having. I've submitted a ticket, so don't worry Ben, I won't bother you with any of the technical details in this forum.

Third, I like what TDogger had said. I'm a not very techie, and definitely not familiar with ioncube (heck, I've just heard about it here in this thread...). And so, if at all possible, please drop the ioncube thing requirement, or at the very least provide a thorough video tutorial on how to set up the ioncube.

Lastly, just wanted to add andyintheworld idea. Maybe the plugin could offer an option, whether to let visitor affect the initial star review from us or not? If yes, then over time, the star review will go up or down, depending on the visitors' votes. If not, then the star review will be a fixed value.

When I activated, I got a message - "Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error." I installed it on the site I specified in the licensing page. I'm assuming this is an IONcube problem as well. Ticket submitted.

Also, I need the pages functionality, as nearly all my WP sites use pages.

No. That is not really what this plugin is for. The plugin is for getting stars to show in the search engine next to your listing. Please watch the video.

ioncube will not affect any of your other plugins...

Not sure if you realize that it is bad etiquette to link to another WSO from my WSO which I paid to list. But it is...

I have not bought that plugin although they do seem fairly similar - although as you say, mine is much cheaper.

Hi Ben your plugin looks great, I also have a different plugin to do this but its not easy to set up to get the stars an all the posts and yours looks like it might be : ).

My questions are my site is a genuine review site with hundreds of posts and thousands of reviews, mye reviews only have a maximum of 5 stars, is there a way for your plugin to show for example 5/5 stars and not 10/10 as the maximum rating?.

Also some of my posts have upwards of a 100 reviews is there a way to reflect this number/
