Unfortunately there's not much I can do about that, once you click on the link you're on Paypal's website and in their hands.

Just double check you've got your username and password right, if so it might be a temporary issue with Paypal's server. Give it a try in an hour or so.

Confirmation emails should arrive within a few minutes, often in just a few seconds, though they are notorious for going to spam/junk mail folders especially if you use yahoo or similar free email providers.
