Q: What are the hosting requirements?

Most Linux hosting accounts can support EasyMemberPro. The requirements are:

- PHP 5.x
- mySQL
- Ability to run "cron jobs" (most hosts support this)

Q: Will I receive the source code to EasyMemberPro so that I can edit it myself?

For a long time, EasyMemberPro was “locked down”, however, many of our users wanted to add their
own features to EasyMemberPro - so, from now, all buyers of EasyMemberPro receive the unencrypted source code... you may edit the source code for your own membership sites, and extend
EasyMemberPro - the only limits are your programming expertise and your imagination.

Please Note:, we cannot provide support for customised versions of EasyMemberPro

Q. Does your script automatically create member's accounts when they join, and also remove their
account if they cancel?

If you're using Paypal, Clickbank or 2Checkout then YES. If you're using Authorize.net then only the
signups are automated.

Q. If a member cancels their membership, can they still access the site until their membership
period expires?

Yes. For example, if a member joined on January 1st on a monthly plan and cancelled on 5th January, they can still access the site until 31st January.

Q. Does the program automatically e-mail the username/password to the member after signup
is completed?

Yes. Also, members create their username/password when they create their account, so if their login
email didn't arrive due to spam filtering, they will still be able to login. They also have a Forgotten
Password page which they can use to retrieve their details at any time.

Q. Are members able to change their profile information, such as phone number, address, email
and password?

Yes they can. When they log in there is an option for them to change all these details.

Q. Does the program have a forgotten password feature which can be requested by members who
forgot their password?

Yes.

Q. Does the program allow me to integrate my own autoresponder into it?

Yes.

Q. Can I offer FREE and Trial memberships?

Training videos are on the way (about a week) - the last two months since we bought EMP from the previous owner have been extremely busy, fixing bugs and making sure the support side runs as smooth as possible. Now that we're on top of things, we're confident in this soft-relaunch, before we go full steam ahead with affiliate promotions.

Mike, our programmer can install for $10 - if you log a support ticket, I'll make sure he gets to you as soon as possible.

Thanks for the questions... I've numbered them in the quote and answered them below.

1) I've posted the link to the demo site now, certain features have been disabled in the demo for security.

2) You can upload header/footer/background... or create your own themes - the software includes a default theme, so if you're well versed in html, you should be able to add/edit/remove things. I used to create themes for EMP users before we took over from the old owner, and future how-to videos will include custom theming as soon as I can get them recorded.

3) No forum included

4) No.

5) Sites can't be cloned - each single license is tied to a specific domain.

6) Yes, sites can be backed up, manually or on a schedule.

7) Not wordpress, EMP is a standalone script with an inbuilt CMS system.

You could link it to a forum, but at present - the signups for the forum and the membership site would be separate. Our programmer is working on a method of protecting directories - so, in future, if you installed WordPress or a Forum inside the subdirectory it would be protected. That will be in a future update.

Not sure where I mentioned Dreamweaver... the membership site itself has its' own theme that is suitable for most purposes - all you need to do is upload your own header and footer graphic. If you're more technical, you can create custom themes - but in most situations, the standard layout is suitable.

All you'd need to do is add your own content in the built in WYSiWYG editor.

Many thanks for pointing that out. There are certain areas of the copy that need clarifying - that's one of them.

It is possible to design templates in dreamweaver - in fact, if you take the existing default template and load it into dreamweaver, you could add various elements and styles to it.

Most good html editors would be suitable for customisation - although, I would always recommend keeping a backup of the default theme to revert back to.

1) Yes, but, member activation would be manual.

2) Yes, you have the option of paying affiliates by cheque or by paypal - the member would have had to join via an affiliate link, and the script would calculate the amount owed to the affiliate.

3) This would be the server email function.

I doubt it will suit me because the hosting name usually shows
and it would clash with my niches 'butterflies and dolphins' kinda thing,
and I am looking for a green one I can also affiliate with,
like dreamhost which is a better name match and logo as well as it's green cred.
I'm going to PM you at some point about promoting this as you seem good folk

As it's a PHP script and works similar to a CMS, you'd upload it to your server and add the content once it's up there. You can copy and paste your content in, from a word processor, text document etc.

Are you using free hosting at the mo as far as I can see that's the only reason why the hosting name would show. If you're using paid hosting then their name wont show and if it does and your paying for it then you need to change your host.

Hi Kim,(and Karl) thank you for responding,
I did note the important points you raise. I'm still researching into the best match hosting.
I did find one with a green emphasis in UK that also matched well with my style of things.
There are some others, fine in themselves only their presence is rather large
such as massive windfarms on their landing page
and so would not quite fit with my more 'small is beautiful' more friendly and personal
green and self dev blogging sites personae (that I'm developing into a brand).
I am also taking the whole of the visitor or members experience into account,
including the aesthetics and principles/ethics it runs under and of those it links to.
Most of my 'natural' niches would come under a green umbrella,
so a small green logo showing in the footer only adds cred' to what I'm about.
It may also be that they are the affiliate link, is my guess as I'm still learning the techie stuff,
if so, it's a nice way to do it, to my way of thinking.
I've seen the Dreamhost one in others footers and that has a crescent moon in a night sky logo
that matches well with my self dev niches.
Their personnel pictures are of them as children,
so rather a charming personal touch.

I felt the name of yours would suit the IM or Biz niches better
than it would any of mine.
I wanted to invite you to say more about it here for those folk visiting this page,
as you come across as good folk, so I like to be supportive.

Btw I did visit and see your green nature friendly bit, so I could perhaps include it in a list of those that do,
especially due to the theme of one of my membership sites that would attract a broader range of folk.

Also I'm looking for affiliation schemes that would pay in kind rather than money to help folks in getting started.
There is a particular group of folks this would particularly help that I am interested in helping.
I realise that if that is possible with yourselves, that would more suit your site than the WF way of things.

there are various bug fixes that we've made since we took over ownership of EasyMemberPro. No major new features yet, but they're coming.

All previous EMP owners, and all purchasers of this WSO will receive free lifetime upgrades - as soon as we release them.

In future, we may consider charging a small annual maintenance fee which will fund future development (you, previous owners and buyers of this WSO will not pay this.)

If you buy the single license now and decide to upgrade, you can just pay the difference

Yes it has its own control/admin panel and yes you can create an oto page etc

It also has an inbuilt editor so you can build and change your pages online

The WSO plugin is actually an extension of this script. I'm hoping to have it ready within the next 30 days - and it will be a free upgrade to existing owners of EasyMemberPro and buyers of this WSO.

Basically, when you set up your easymemberpro site (using this software) you can then add the plugin to WordPress and they'll talk to each other - protecting posts from non-members, and showing them a login box. Members would see the full post.

More features are planned, but we want to get basic wordpress protection built in before we take it to more ambitious levels.

No additional wordpress themes will be needed.

you can use remotely hosted videos, i.e. those on Amazon S3 - or upload directly, and easy member pro will protect them.
