Sounds like a lot of jumping hoops, if that's the case.

Hello Joe,

Congratulations on the excellent product - I bought it.

I sincerely hope that this product does not breach any Amazon TOS (it would if Pinterest is considered a Transitional site).

In any case it is your duty to investigate this, because people who buy this product may be banned for no fault of their own.

I am saying this from bitter experience, as I've had my Amazon Account banned, because Amazon TOS doesn't allow linking from Transitional sites (in my case Adf.Ly).

These were instructions from a well known Internet Marketer who wrote the following in the product.

"This is a simple money making method that uses a payed traffic source called 'adf.ly' to generate Amazon Associates profits.
In this guide I will show you exactly how to set up a simple 'adf.ly' campaign so that you can have a large return on your investment by making money through Amazon Associates...
. "

I tried to reason with Amazon, but this was their final answer:

================================================
From: Amazon.com <no-reply@amazon.com>
Hello, While reviewing your account, we found that you are using transitional page advertisements to send traffic to the Amazon site. The Associates Program Operating Agreement prohibits Associates from using this method of advertisement.

You can review the complete terms of the Operating Agreement, including Participation Requirements, by following this link: https://affiliate-program.amazon.com...ates/agreement Because of these violations, your Associates account has been closed and payment of all advertising fees withheld. You must remove the Amazon site and all Amazon content from all transitional page advertisements or other sites immediately.

Any other accounts you may have or may open in the future which are found in violation of the Operating Agreement terms may be closed and advertising fees withheld without notification.

Thank you for your interest in the Associates Program.

Best regards, Gary - Associates Account Specialist Amazon.com: Online Shopping for Electronics, Apparel, Computers, Books, DVDs & more

================================================
Luckily, Amazon allowed me to create another account with a stern warning that if I breach TOS once more that would be Bye Bye for ever.

So Joe, while we appreciate your technical skills, you can't simply say "It is a gray area" and shrug off your shoulders, while innocent people get banned.

Ring or write to Amazon (or hire somebody to do it) and get a confirmation is it OK to link from Piterest or not.
Best regards
AlanSele
I doubt that Pinterest pages can be considered transitional. Having this mentality anyone could say that posting facebook pics on Facebook with affiliate links is regarded transitiona ladvertising as well.

What is more I would not expect from the creator of the product to ask Amazon. I would send them an email on my own.

Hell i did it and you should as well

There are links in the program to my blog. Those blog posts teach you how to set up the type of redirection or landing page you want to use. Besides those pages the only other thing is the demo video on this thread. If you need any type of further assistance in making this work please reash out to our support at WSOToolz Help Desk

Thanks,
Joe

I got the same thing at first. Make sure your linking structure is correct. I had used something other than aid= but didn't change that in the tool so I got that same page you're getting.

Hi Joe. Software is working fine for me. I have a suggestion for the program.

Would it be possible to be able to pick what categories on Amazon the plugin can scrape from?? I'd like to be able to scrape from books for instance to pin on a Books board in Pinterest. Would look a little more natural if we could spread stuff around on our boards instead of piling pins in just one board.

Thanks
Mike

Joe,

What do you find to be more effective and safer... redirect or using a landing page?

How does the application prevent duplicates from being pinned? I just got a duplicate but it could be because I stopped and restarted the application after I made some changes.

Thanks for the great application!

Please open a support ticket if you did not already. Something is just not configured correctly with your redirection or linking structure.

It tracks the ASIN numbers on a board. Restarting should have no affect as it loads up the board again before pinning. If you change the secret word then that could create duplicates.... to avoid this keep one secret word per pinterest board.

This is not supposed to happen if it does it normally means the program did not close properly. Just open a support ticket including your license number and we will get the license reset for you.

I had thought that posting Amazon affiliate links to a third party site and/or using redirects was a breach of the Amazon ToS. Can you or anyone please confirm?

"A “Qualifying Purchase” occurs when (a) a customer clicks through a Special Link on your site to the relevant Amazon Site related to the appropriate Associate ID for that Amazon Site..."

Also, from the Operating Agreement:

23. You will not post or serve any Special Links or other content promoting the Amazon Site within any pop-up or pop-under windows, transitional page ads or layer ads around or in conjunction with the display of any site that is not your site.

"Redirecting Links" are also banned. “Redirecting Link” means a link that sends users indirectly to an Amazon Site via an intermediate site or webpage and without requiring the user to click on a link or take some other affirmative action on that intermediate site or webpage.

I am interested in this but am keen to know if anyone been banned from the Amazon programme for doing this?

Thanks

This has been mentioned several times here in this thread. Your best bet is to contact Amazon if you want to be sure.

The software has a landing page option which is 100% safe. It is just the redirect option that is really the question and as I stated before I am unsure if it breaks TOS and you should use at your own risk.

The landing page option works beautifully and I suggest everyone to use that if in doubt about the Amazon TOS.

Joe,

Sent you a PM on the email I just received from you

This may seem a dumb question...but does that mean we have to build a separate landing page for each item we pin?

No, it is one dynamic landing page that pulls the ASIN from the URL and displays the appropriate product.

You just paste the code I give you into a wordpress page and activate the free plugins I tell you about and you are set.

Thanks,
Joe

I had responded to you support ticket and thought your issue was resolved. If you still have issues please open a new ticket. I have been helping you back and forth several times today via email as well now.

I will not be making videos on this as this product is no longer being sold. I have all the instructions written out on my blog posts and links to them are available within the program.

Support is still available to those who have purchased this program. Use our helpdesk... here on this sales thread is not the place to ask for support.

Thanks,
Joe

I appreciate that. The software is good but it was just too much work for me to support it. People had way too many issues trying to configure it.

I appreciate the request but at this time it is not being re-opened. If I would re-open it again it would probably have to be on a monthly subscription basis to cover support expenses.

Is it against amazon's TOS to post your amazon.com affiliate links on pinterest?

Is it against amazon's TOS to post the pictures from their website on pinterest without giving them credit for them?

I am in no way qualified to answer those questions. I would suggest you review their TOS and make that decision for yourself. We talked about it here in the thread a bit earlier. This is one reason why the program offers the landing page option in addition to the redirect option. As for the pictures, I am not sure...the link on the pictures would go back to amazon sites and we are doing so to generate them revenue. So you need to make these decisions your self and decide if they are risks you are willing to take or not.
