Is there an OTO on this?

Yes, there is. I am offering a sweet software of mine to you. It is not required, but it is a very special offer.


What are some of the differences between SenseiMailer and PHPList??

PHPList did not have subscription form creation. They would create a subscribe page and then you would have to funnel your leads to this page to get them on the list.

SenseiMailer creates a form and gives you the HTML code so you can place this code on your blog or site without any trouble.

SenseiMailer also has changes to the behind the scenes code to allow this subscription code to be placed in generic forms like OptimizePress and other systems so subscribers could be added using other means.

PHPList also didn't have the option for single opt-in. SenseiMailer gives you this option as well.


Does SenseiMailer Have a AutoResponder?

SenseiMailer and PHPlist do not have a sequential autoresponder function. This means the system can not send an email after x amount of days after subscription.

It can however send a message to the subscriber right after they subscribe. This message can be different based on the subscription form they use when signing up.

I do have one thing I want to be sure of. I have heard that mass mailing from our host server can get our server blacklisted. There is no danger of that with using List Sensei, correct? Just need to confirm and put my mind at ease

Tracy, great question.

Since you are using Amazon SES to send your emails out, it does not use the email sending function of your host. So it will not trigger the blacklist.

I have had this system running on a hostgator shared server without any problems.

You would need a website and hosting to be able to use this system for the subscribe pages and such.

You don't necessarily have to have a website to build a list with the techniques inside. Just a couple days ago, I saw a product that used Youtube to drive traffic, and you could also use free blogs to drive traffic to your subscribe pages to build your list.

So in a way, yes and no


How much are the costs of building the lists?

The system is installed on your host, so you have your hosting fee. The only other time you pay for your list is for emails sent. This is the fee that Amazon charges for use of their SES service.

The Amazon fee is currently 10c per 1000 emails.

I don't get into traffic so much on this product. This product is all about putting together a system so you can build lists with it anytime, and save some big money on the monthly fees.

The ONLY way this would be acceptable is if those people on the list were YOUR subscribers, and YOU got them with acceptable means.

Also, these subscribers would have to be fresh, which means they have been emailed recently and are expecting email from you.

If it doesn't meet those requirements, then Amazon will ban your account fast.

This is just my advice btw, but yes, the mailing system can import from a csv.

I have used SES with other (crappy) software and can say from experience Amazon SES has "dream deliverability" and will be a perfect match with Nick's version of the PHPlist software.

I highly recommend you pick up this product so you can 1) improve deliverability/opens/clicks, 2) stay in control of your list 3) save money over Aweber and similar services

PHPList does not have an sequential autoresponder option available. Since the SenseiMailer project is open source, it is possible that this may be added at a later time.

Yes, you can schedule broadcasts in the future, and yes, it can handle as many lists as you want to put in.

You can also create many different variations of subscribe forms for the same list.

Amazon SES is one of the best email processors out there right now. I have seen some great results with them, and know a couple other marketers who use them exclusively.

Since the SenseiMailer is a PHPlist variation, it has most of the features of GetResponse and Aweber, but not all of them. The only main function it is missing is the sequential autoresponder function, which I have not used at all in my career. What it does, it does really well, and the fact that it is always there and available to you makes it worth it's weight in gold.

I use this setup as one of my backups along side Aweber, and it is only because this was not around when I signed up with Aweber. Someday, when I am not working on all these projects, I will work on porting them over

I've seen mods out there, but probably would not work since you've modified the phplist script.

I would recommend adding the autoresponder functionality, such as processing the queue with a cron job -- and then you would really see your sales for this product fly through the roof.

Considering that most auresponder services charge an arm and a leg, deliverability through Amazon would put them in their place-- and maybe out of business. About time and due justice, I would say-- specially for the greatest perp of them all: aweber.

As it stands, great for email blasts. Very clear videos.

This is a email list system that you can use to build your list with. It installs on your host, and it will collect the emails from subscription forms you place on your sites.

This provides some of the same services as those you mention, so it could be considered a replacement.

There is instructions on how to link the system up with Amazon SES, which is a service they provide that sends emails on your behalf. This service is very nice as it takes care of a bunch the technical stuff so your emails have a much better chance at hitting the inbox instead of the spambox.

The cost to use Amazon SES is by how much email you send out. Currently it is 10 cents per 1000 emails sent.

The software gets installed on your host, so a hosting account is needed.

I grabbed this yesterday after receiving your e-mail about it, boy those videos take some getting through, after I'd watched them all I looked up at the clock and over two hours had disappeared.

I was surprised to find the software was a website script, I'm so used to your software being desktop applications after BPP and PLS, still for e-mail list building it does make more sense.

I will admit like Philip I was a little disappointed to find the Sensei Mailer doesn't have the sequential element, I haven't seen phplist before so didn't know what to expect, so will have to say I think it'll be unlikely I'll be using it myself.

The sequential element helps your subscribers warm-up to you before you start send out promos and with a straight broadcast only autoresponder all of your subs get the same message no matter when they joined and some might not be up to speed yet for using the item you might be offering.

Currently I've just started using the WP Responder Email Autoresponder And Newsletter plug-in from Raj Sekharan (free DL from the Wordpress plugins depository) which does have the sequential feature included, I'm not fully up to speed with it yet but from my tests it seems to work great (I haven't seen a tracking feature with it though which is a bit of a shame)

Anyway as for List Master Sensei, having gone through it I can leave a review and so I'd have to say that if you're not worried about the sequential feature then grab it fast because it's easily worth ten times the current asking price whatever it is now,

If you're like me and the sequential feature is something you really need then grab it because it's still worth ten times the asking price just for the tutorial videos on Amazon SES alone (as the plug-in I mentioned also lets you use such services)
