SSL is not required. The Iframe App we use is hosted in a SSL.
You can host your files for members in a non-SSL webhost and the links will work fine without any problems.

Do you need to do a double opt in to get access? 50% of people access FB with a cell phone. They would not be able to get access to their membership stuff until they got to a computer to confirm their subscription unless they are also getting their email on their cell phones. There are lots of autoresponders that don't require double opt in. Thanks. Very interesting product.

OK I just got it, and am disappointed, as I have the username "AmishCookbooks" on facebook already, and your system is saying that "http://www.facebook.com/amishcookbooks" is not valid, which is not true. Can yu fix it so that special FB URLS are allowed to be used?

Mostly, Facebook page created for business has a long URL in the following format:

https ://www. facebook.com/pages/niche-keyword-here/1234567890

For those having short URLs, I have modified the script to make it work.

You can make it as a paid membership site. Instead of the subscription form, place a Paypal Order button. Then, provide the Password and URL of Facebook log-in page in the thank-you page. But I suggest you to try the following strategy instead:

1) Provide free access to the Facebook page members area as 'silver membership' level. Give a short version of the content in the members area. This way, lot of people will become fans and opt-in subscribers.

2) Give a Paypal order button (one time charge or recurring membership fee) in the members area to upgrade the membership. Also, add a few follow-up messages in the Autoresponder to encourage them to visit the Facebook page and upgrade to 'Gold Membership' level.

3) For those upgraded the membership, provide the content in your own website and/or though another Autoresponder setup sending good quality content in regular intervals.

Thanks, I know, but facebook recently made the usernames more widely available (see Log In | Facebook) in fact you can have one per account with under 25 likes, and then after that, you need 25 likes to get a username.

I am now working on the page, but little confused, the tabs are showing "Photos" in front of the other 2 tabs, so not sure how to get the Login" one to show (except to click the down arrow button)

The 'Photos' tab cannot be changed. But other 3 tabs can be re arranged. Just bring all those 3 tabs up by sending the 'Like' tab below.

Any Autoresponder that provides an opt-in form code will work fine. You have to copy and paste the opt-in form code into the Textbox provided in the app.

Like the idea... @Alex thanks for your FB page example - it got me in.
I can see how I can use this for clients... members area for coupons, discounts and specials... It has a different feel than the 'like reveal' approach. The actual word 'MEMBER' implies becoming a part of a tribe or special group - where as 'like' my page has a different feel.

@MrDeleted thanks for pointing out that most Fanpage owners claim their short URL - and I advise all my clients to do this. So now it works with short URL's it's hard to say no.

I already have an established Fan page with over 300 000 people.

Does your app lock the page down so all new people have to join?

Can people carry on interacting as normal or do they have to join?

What I basically want is my fan page to carry on as normal but have a VIP area which I will use as your membership app. Is this the case?
