Why not do the same for FB, Google+ etc. Right now the membership is still somewhat limited to Pinterest so you may be missing too many opportunities until they truly open up the membership.

I'm not going to speculate on what Google prefers in this case. From a spidering perspective, the content is all still there anyway.

It has a bug.
On DEMO i clicked pin2see logo and closed the new window without pinning... and what i saw was that i unlocked the locked content !

That is intentional. Pinterest does not currently have a public API so it uses a timeout. Once the public API is available the verification will be added. From testing I have seen that about 85% of users do actually complete the pin.

Hey thanks for the purchase! Sometimes the images get wrapped in a <p> tag by the wp_editor for some reason, this doesn't have anything to do with pin2see but it does cause an issue when you try to add styles to elements that got wrapped by them.

Switch to the HTML tab on the Wordpress editor and you'll probably see that's what happened. You can either remove the <p> tags surrounding the image and then go to the dropdown again or you can simply add p2s-locked-image and p2s-default into the class="" of the image from the HTML tab.

Hey Ryan,

I redid the video to show the different styles and I must have forgot to mention the test results. Like I stated in the sales graphic those are the results of a brick and mortar local client who has an ecommerce site as well. I was asked not to reveal the market as it's very niche oriented but I can tell you that we basically used sets of 3-5 photos that were a series and lock the last 1-2 images or 3-5 screen caps from a video and then lock the video, paired with coupon code locking on the product pages.

I am personally using it in other ways. I'll post some free tutorials in this thread tomorrow night or Tuesday to give you a better idea on how I've been using it on my own sites.

I do promote CPA offers and average 15-20k a month in that space but I have not tested CPA offers with Pin2See and don't generally reveal those methods =p

I will be adding the ability to set the pinned URL in the near future which will allow you to pin any page/image combo instead of the post which means you can have the unlock pin affiliate links using unlocks on totally unrelated pages.

nbay's site is a great example of one of the types of sites that can do well with it.

Does the content get unlocked after the timeout, regardless of a user pins or not? If so, how long is the timer (or is it configurable)?

I do not have time to write them out again and they were important issues to consider that would make all the difference on whether this is brand friendly for instance

Hey there,

For youtube/vimeo videos you need to enable transparent mode. The method for youtube is to append ?wmode=transparent to the end of the embed url.

Example:

<iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/AgyRmlRMZqE?wmode=transparent" frameborder="0" width="420" height="315"></iframe>

To be honest I tried to figure out what you were referring to in the original post but I couldn't find any comments you had left anywhere (I even checked the original youtube video).

Turns out your comment on my blog got caught by akismet instead of going into pending comments for some reason, so it shoveled you in with about 100 spam comments and I wasn't notified I did approve it on the blog now though, thank you!

In the latest release which I am about to push to existing customers you can use your own logo, you can specify the headline message or leave blank (removes the stripe), and choose locker styles from a dropdown list.

Google really hates spam, just like it hates "bad user experience", and this
trick is definitely both. And it's even worse for those who don't have a
Pinterest account... you're twisting their arm to join something they're not

TexasT3, while I appreciate your opinion, I feel that you've missed the point of this plugin entirely. Nobody is saying to pop this in to your long term, grow-it -slow SEO sites.

If you have a blog that is primarily based on posting nothing but pictures, you're going to have hell getting rank in google anyway. On the other hand, people on Pinterest are all about photos. You do the math there.

People who have an inkling on how to (ab)use this will see value above and beyond what most people are doing with Pinterest.

Hell, I'll give you a hint. You can pin ANY url with ANY picture you want... ANY... it doesn't matter what site the user is unlocking your content from. You can throw up a blog in 5 minutes with pictures of celebrity fashion faux pas, ferrari crash photos, or the latest coupon codes and use the lock to drive traffic to any totally legit blog, or an affiliate link, or whatever you choose.

The entire point of this plugin is to get traffic FROM Pinterest TO a URL of your choosing, and it doesn't have to be your blog. I really couldn't care less if Joe Schmoe finds me in Google and doesn't have Pinterest because this is a traffic generation method that operates outside the influence of google. It's for people who want to start monetizing now, not 6 months from now (although you should do both, of course!).

Not realizing that you are allowed to play on both sides of the fence is holding alot of people back. Content gateways like BLAMads rake in MILLIONS of dollars a month in revenue despite your concerns.

I have been off site for a while
and it seems a lot of the issues raised have been addressed now
and you have my sympathy over the tech glitch
I did promise you a little something though
I think it will take a bit of creativity to word things so that people do not feel 'forced' to click
and how and what we are going to reveal
A series of how tos I think would work well
as if they like the first enough to want to watch more
then they won't resent the like.
To offer some options is also a good idea for building a better relationship with subscribers
some folk have some less personal contacts in some places rather than others
it's why I have more than one account in most places
I'd rather turn contacts into friends than friends and family into contacts.
I do not like folks doing it to me.
I'm more interested in building a rapport and long term subscribers
than fast cut and run manipulative marketing
it's more naturally suited to pinterest and why I like it
Although I got introduced via IM
I feel it is important to be a user before attempting marketing
to get a feel for it and the different approach it makes possible.
With 90% women it is bound to be more feminine in how it works.
I've got 100's of followers quite easily
because I am interested and knowledgeable about various popular subjects there and pin accordingly.
I have had loads of invites to boards and have had my invites excepted by leaders in my natural niches I have nearly 300 boards.
I note that a lot of men just have sales boards so very little of interest to follow
it seems to be forgotten that it is foremost a social site
and so automation will often work against that

I have gotten several of your products and so far never disappointed.

I got the Share2See Plugin which does same as Pin2See but for FB, G+, Tweeter...
I am very interested in Pin2See Dev to use on a client website, but ideally would like the 2 plugins to merge so that can do (Pin-or-Share)2See.

What is timeline for such plans?

I am Not a programmer but sounds like should be easy enough since you own both.
Or, can I install both plugins and use both on same content at a time, thus get the desired (Pin-or-Share)2See effect???
