Hi Kathy, I've bought your plugin and am looking forward to trying it. One feature that would make this plugin REALLY snazzy is to integrate <--more--> functionality into it. Since the plugin is reading a text file, I'm not sure how hard it would be to add that feature - or, if we embedded the <--more--> command in the appropriate spot in the text file, would it be interpreted by Wordpress properly once the post is published? Thanks, - Kat Bartone |

Kathy, when you stopped your Gardening PLR membership some months back, I was very disappointed. Just 2 weeks before then, I had set up an elaborate membership site based on getting continued PLR content from you for this niche. At the time, I had decided to not buy anything from you again. I'm glad I changed my mind - because ZIP POSTER just plain rocks! It didn't work with my hosting service, until I requested that they enable zip for PHP - and then it worked like a charm! The result on my first test blog is FANTASTIC - and I now see a quick and easy way to put all the PLR content lying idle on my hard drive to use by creating niche blogs with pre-loaded content that'll run hands-free! Thanks for sharing this powerful plug-in. All success Dr.Mani |

You can add Dreamhost to the list of providers that don't have php zip upload functionality. I sent a support ticket to request they add it. Here's the reply I got back. Unfortunately it's not possible to modify the shared configuration of the PHP.ini file on your server. Fortunately we give our customers the option of compiling and installing their own version of PHP. You can read more about doing that here: Installing PHP5 - DreamHost ugh...I got an instant headache when I went to look at the info. I am definitely not a programmer so I'm not going to even attempt to change anything in the file unless I have a simple, step-by-step explanation to follow. I'm going to head on over to their forums and see if someone there can help. If I find an easy solution I'll post it here. ************************************ If you use dreamhost.com here's the solution to getting this plug-in to work on your sites! Check out the solution here. Worked for me and once the PHP Zip Upload function is running, the plug-in worked like a charm! Thanks for this great tool Kathy. |

One of my wordpress sites I would want to use it on is only the 2.3 version. The person I purchased it from said why fix what isn't broken when I asked about upgrading it! and then I had also heard people advise not to upgrade to the 2.6 until they had ironed out all the bugs. I have never done an upgrade before is it easy? Obviously to take advantage of your software I would need to for this one site. Any suggestions? Cheers Misty |

I don't upgrade my WP to the newest versions right away either, because it's very common to see lots of bug fixes for a month or two after the release. WP 2.6 was one of the most bug free releases I've ever seen though, and it's been out for awhile now so I've been using it on all my sites. Unfortunately I can't remember if I upgraded any of them from 2.3 or not, so I have no idea if things will break. Your best bet would be to look through the WP upgrade documentation first, and see if there are known problems or precautions that need to be taken with that big of a leap. As for using my plugin on WP 2.3: I haven't had any reports of this being done, so I have no idea if it works or not. I believe it will not because I think that's around the time the WP database structure was changed. I can't remember for sure though plus I haven't tested 2.3 or had it confirmed as either working or not working by anyone. Hope that helps, Kathy

I've installed the plugin and I'm able to post individual text files. But when I try to upload a zip file ZipPoster reports this error: "Error: upload stopped by an extension". My Resellerzoom host reports that the php zip function is enabled. (And the info.php page confirms this.) I've also tried to upload a zip file containing just one text file, but I get the same error. Any suggestions? Mike |

Mike, I had the same problem with Reseller Zoom... even with PHP zip enabled. Here's the cure: Contact their tech support, give them your wordpress login details and tell them how ZipPoster works so they can re-create the error. It's easier to just let them fix it, but if you're curious here's a quick overview. They'll add code to your .htaccess file for PHP5. And they will also add appropriate php.ini fle to your blog folder. I'm not a techie at all, but I wanted to understand what was involved and they walked me through everything. But the easy way is to let them handle it. And when you get ZipPoster going... you're gonna' love it. -Al |

Hi Everyone, Several notes for you today: 1. I'm seeing messages reposted in this thread, PMs, and email and these duplicates are causing me to lose track of who's doing what where. Please pick one communication channel and stick with it ![]() 2. Al and Steve: Thanks so much for all your excellent help and feedback! 3. With all the testing and troubleshooting we've had going over the last week, I've been able to gather quite a bit of information. Thank you all so much! The good news is: (With well over 100 sales) Less than 10% of buyers have actually reported any problems with the plugin, and of those only a few have had anything that took a little more time or work.I've created an initial support page that should help answer most of the common technical questions that I've seen come up in this last week. You'll find that right here: ZipPoster: A Powerful Article Publishing Plugin for WordPress That page will of course be updated as needed If you have additional questions, comments or concerns, please don't hesitate to ask!Kathy |

I finally have a chance to try this wp plugin...and I got the php zip error. I just submitted a ticket to my host: ServInt I'll update when I get a response. Myra ServInt took care of the issue. Plugin works great...scheduled until sometime next year! |

I picked this up yesterday and it works like a charm - by far the best Wordpress plugin for articles! I have only one issue that is it repeats the tittle at the top of the article which makes it look a bit redundant. Is there anyway to keep this from happening? |

Kathy, I just purchased this plugin and it really is a powerful tool! Just want to clarify some things: 1. Will all the text files in each zip folder be loaded into one category only? 2. Is it normal for the title of the post to appear twice? When you view the actual blog, I notice it appears in the title field AND at the first line of the post before the actual content. 3. How do we put a certain text file/post into several categories? Thanks, JB |

Hi Everyone, We now have an update! If you've bought this plugin already, the download link should be arriving in your email any time now. Here's what's different:1. The article titles are no longer duplicated within the body of the posts! ![]() 2. From now on, whenever there is an update to this plugin you will get a notice on your ZipPoster admin screen. 3. I've updated and added to the PDF instruction guide. As for the WPMU questions: YES! I've verified this works in WordPress MU. Just put it into the mu plugins folder and it'll automatically be activated and available for all domains/subdomains/folders you have.I'll be bumping this one last time shortly, and the affiliate program should be going live in the next few days too. Enjoy! Kathy |

1. Yes. To put articles into different categories, batch them per zip file. So all articles for category1 would go into zip1, all articles for category2 go into zip2, etc. (Edit: The names of your categories and zip files don't matter, these were just used for example purposes) 2. This has been fixed The download link should be arriving in your email shortly.3. That's not automated, sorry. You'd have to edit the article manually to add it to multiple categories. Hope this helps and thanks for the great feedback! Kathy

Just in case you missed it: yes, I've verified this works wonderfully with MU. Remember it's a private use license only though, so you can only use it on a private MU install. Hope that helps and let me know if you have more questions, Kathy

I purchased yesterday and had it installed at least on WPMU without drama. AFTER the recent update I have now got drama which i suspect is easily fixable for some familiar with coding. The message I get is: "Warning: file_get_contents() [function.file-get-contents]: URL file-access is disabled in the server configuration in /mnt/local/home/userp1/domain.com/wp-content/mu-plugins/ZipPoster.php on line 666 Warning: file_get_contents(http://www.gurugazette.com/ZipPoster...ersionInfo.txt) [function.file-get-contents]: failed to open stream: no suitable wrapper could be found in /mnt/local/home/userp1/domain.com/wp-content/mu-plugins/ZipPoster.php on line 666 * Error: error: bad remote version file" When I go to lines 665 and 666 I see : "// TODO: Update the file_get_contents so that it has a valid URL for the version number page # $kbm_ZipPoster_remote_version=file_get_contents( 'http://www.gurugazette.com/ZipPoster/ZipPosterVersionInfo.txt' );" and so I am wondering if you have overlooked your reminder note to update the version? Hope it is as simple as that.

Ok I am very interested in this program for two reasons. I have about 150,000 plr articles. And two it sounds so easy to create a blog and just upload them. My question is though with the duplicate content. With all this hype about plr and duplicate content on the internet how do you just post and not modify anything. Does it really not matter? I am just curious cause this could be a great jump start to building several blogs on autopilot. Anyway I would like any advice on this. Thanks, Jason |

Hi Jason, This is whats in the sales letter of the wso. "Let me tell you a secret about Google... they honestly don't care what you put online, as long as you do it CONSISTENTLY! If you notify them of new content at your website every single day, guess what? Google will revisit your site every single day like a trained and loyal dog! I see the whole "duplicate content" myth rehashed here day in and day out but I know for a fact that it doesn't matter! I load up unedited PLR articles that have been circulated to thousands of other people and I STILL get Google to visit multiple times each day PLUS they index these articles AND they rank some of them highly too! Does it help to have unique content? Of course! Does it help if you rewrite PLR at least a little before using it? Absolutely! But it's not doing you a damn bit of good sitting on your hard drive "waiting" for you to rewrite it now is it?" It depends on you if you got the time to rewrite all those articles. Thats my take on it I'm sure Kathy will answer you soon. Joseph |

Opening files is a default functionality of PHP.Can you ask your hosting company to enable that feature of PHP? And can you tell me which hosting company this is too? Also: Does this prevent you from using ZipPoster or is it just an error at the top of the admin screen? It's just a convenience feature of the script, so it shouldn't prevent everything from working. I'm just getting my first cup of coffee but I saw your email too so I'll answer there in a few minutes just in case you miss this post. Thanks, Kathy

Everyone has their own plans for PLR... usually... but too often most of them end up with a giant collection like you have, and it's just wasted money and space. I firmly believe in the Mike Litman mantra: "You Don't Have To Get It Right, You Just Have To Get It Going" So I get things going. Then I go back and tweak, adjust, fix, etc as needed over time. I've also learned over the last 12 years that there are no hard and fast rules online. Just because something works for one person does not make it set in stone that it'll work for others, and vice versa: Just because one person has a problem using one tactic does not mean everyone will also have that problem. This is why you hear some people say "don't do that!" while others will say "that works great!" when talking about the exact same thing. I personally like to try things first hand and see what my own results are. Will some things fail? Absolutely. That's the nature of business. ![]() All I can really say is it boils down to your own personal risk comfort level. But I will ask you this: What will you lose just by trying?

AFTER the update I get the red lettering everywhere putting the frighteneres on me. My host is DreamHost and experience thus far with DH is that they will not lift a finger for you. In any case i will attempt to move forward and cary on regardless. One more thing Initially I put the plug-in into the standard plugins folder (it worked yesterday). When I then got the error message i thought "ah haaa" move it into the MU Plug Ins folder (which didnt make any difference). I'm going to shift it back into the standard PlugIns folder after going to bed. Really looking forward to working with this tool. .

Oh DUH!! [blonde moment] I'm so sorry, I apparently just now got enough coffee into me to wake up. You can disable the automatic update notification in ZipPoster, regardless of whether it's in the MU plugins directory or the regular Plugins directory. Just go to the bottom of the ZipPoster admin, select "Deactivated" and click "Do It", then it shouldn't try to check for updates anymore. Sorry about that. Kathy |

Calling all ClickBank Affiliates: If you have a minute, can you please test this for me? http://www.adps2.com/ZipPoster/cb/?cb=AFFID Replace AFFID with your own Clickbank ID. Then click the order button, scroll to the bottom of the page, and tell me if your affiliate id is the one showing there? Thanks in advance! Kathy |

Ok - I'm cooking with zip gas now. The zip plug-in works well either in MU or standard plug-ins folder. The error message goes away when the update box is disabled. The first line of text is transposed to blog title and disappears from body of blog. All html. I have used thus far works. All good. I had a minor stumble (again) for those brave souls who opt to use DreamHost. On editing the .htaccess file you can not just blithely "add" the additional suggested lines of code to the file as is implied. The code must be added in the body of the file - not at the end and not at the beginning. Where it is place does count. Stick it in the middle is my technically erudite suggestion for best effects. Looking forward to getting on with something else now. Many thanks Kathy - great work.

Ok affiliate links are fixed and they look better now too. Here's the format: http://www.adps2.com/ZipPoster/cb/AFFID/ And you would of course change the AFFID part to your own clickbank ID. |

Hey Everybody: The Clickbank Sales Page is now finished! ![]() If you've been waiting for the ability to promote ZipPoster and earn commissions, here's the detail page for you: ZipPoster Affiliate Program Commissions are set to 50% (forgot to put that on the page, I'll fix it momentarily) and the thank you page links to the ADPS clickbank sales page, so you could grab commissions off of two products at once if a customer buys one after the other ![]() Now that that is live, I'll be closing this WSO in the next couple of days. Email will go out to everyone about the affiliate program shortly too, just in case they miss the announcement here. As always, any questions or comments are more than welcome ![]() Thanks! Kathy |
