And since WordPress tells MANY sites every time you publish new content, those sites will come running every time too!

Now you want to know what will get you in trouble? If you scrape RSS feeds and someone complains to Google. Or you steal someone else's content and they complain. Even if you violate the TOS of an article directory by publishing more than they "allow"... if they complain to Google then your site can - and usually will - get banned.

If you buy PLR content though, you're not stealing or scraping anything! And THATS exactly why PLR has gotten so popular over the last few years!

People quickly found that buying PLR isn't the last step though. They have to actually DO SOMETHING with it before it can start earning them money. And one of the easiest things to do is simply build a website with the PLR articles, right?

But that's when most of us discovered there's work in them there sites. Sure you can simply take a package of 50 PLR articles and create a site in one day, with everything all published at once. But that only "calls" the search engines ONCE! If you want the spiders to keep coming back regularly, you have to either publish more content or you have to work your tail off promoting the site.

And the promotion never ends.

If you stop promoting a static site, you WILL stop getting spider activity and eventually traffic too. And without traffic, you can't earn any money.

Don't get me wrong on this: ALL websites will do better with at least the minimum amount of promotion. But you actually CAN have successful sites which you don't lift a finger to promote. Read on...

This is where WordPress shines. Using this ingenious, FREE software, you can publish a website that will get CONSTANT search engine attention and CONSTANT traffic. But only IF you keep adding new content in a steady stream.

But it will continue getting search engine attention, traffic, and income, because the site is publishing new material regularly.

Don't get me wrong, the technique is awesome and the results are too, but actually pre-loading hundreds of articles onto a site at once - manually - is time consuming, repetitive, and boring!

Most people quit before they've gotten a quarter of the way through!

This is a regular WordPress plugin too. There are no additional software requirements to make this work. As long as you have a working version of WP 2.5 or higher and a javascript enabled browser, you're good to go. Just drop this plugin into the standard WP plugins directory, log into your WP admin and activate it, then go upload your articles.

A couple of technical points about the articles...
1. They must be in TEXT format. Word DOC files will not work.
2. The first line of each text file should be the article title
3. The articles should be in a zip file

Notice there's a title and body area. That means you can certainly add articles one at a time, and just let the plugin figure out and keep track of the random future date for you.

The REAL power though... is that little spot at the bottom. See the "Browse" button? Click that, browse to the appropriate directory on your hard drive, select the zip file which contains your TXT articles, then click Ok.

Next step? Click "Do It!"

Yeah that's really it :D

As you can see in the screenshot, there are a couple of other settings you can change too, and I explain those in full detail for you in the manual. Briefly though: You set the minimum and maximum amount of time between each article, and ZipPoster will randomly create timestamps in that range for you. If you have multiple categories configured in your WordPress, you can also select the category to put the articles in to.

The "Now" and "Later" buttons are another very powerful feature of this tool too. These let you decide what start date and time ZipPoster should use when adding this batch of articles.

If you click "Now", it will randomly select times and dates at the intervals you've defined, starting from now.

The start time box can be edited to use a custom start time. So if you want posts to start 3 days ago (which is useful for getting some quick content up on a new site), you can edit that right there in the start time section.

Here's where it gets really cool though... Select the category you want these articles posted to, then click the "Last" button. ZipPoster will then analyze your database to see what the date is for the last post in that category.

Huh??

Let's say you add 100 articles to a category, and you've got them scheduled so that they'll finish publishing in about three months. Two weeks later you acquire more content that will fit well into that same category, but you don't want to start this new batch of articles posting right away. Instead you want to tack them onto the end of the stuff you queued up before so that you'll have six months worth of posts loaded.

All you do is click "Last", and ZipPoster will figure out what the date is for the current last post in that category (dated 3 months from now), and it will randomize the timestamps on your new content starting from that date!

You set the minimum timestamp space and the maximum. Zip Poster will show you what the average is, but the posts can be spread out anytime between that minimum and maximum.

Now... no matter how tempting it is, I'm not going to feed you a line of bull about how you'll make tons of money overnight with this tool. And if you're expecting a fantasy story about how I made millions my first week please go away. Notice there are no income screen shots here? Right. I don't play those games.

It IS entirely possible to start seeing your first bit of steady traffic by using this tool though, and you may even get the first adsense click or two, or the first traffic to affiliate programs within just a day or two.

I have a ton of PLR articles, and lots of blogs
that I don't update often enough, even with the
help of virtual assistants.

You just changed that :-)

I do like publishing quality content on my blogs,
something you provide but that's often not
provided in PLR packages I've gotten from other
sources. So, I do go through and make sure that
I'm happy with any PLR articles before posting
them. I do realize that I can just upload PLR
bundles as they are delivered, as long as they
are in the .txt format within the .zip archive.

2. Yep. This is how I do it. I have articles grouped into zip files by topic/category, then I simply upload each to the category I want them in.

Hi Scott,

There are plugins which will do on the fly linking for you yes. I can't think of the name of one offhand but I'll look that up.

On inserting links: I haven't tested this myself yet BUT I think you should be able to create a standard html link in the text file and have that work. I'll test it myself as soon as I can though.

Hi Kat!

Bugs: Absolutely. That's one of the reasons I put the first 25 sales at so low a price. I want to make sure it's bug free and I want testimonials

If any bugs are found then everyone will get the updated/fixed version at no cost.

Pings: Since about version 2.0 of WordPress, pings are not sent out until a post is actually "published". This means no pings go out when you put it into the queue for posting at a future date. When it's published later though, that's when the pings are sent. EDIT: Sorry Kat I misread your question. Yes all the background processes are the same, so pings go out as they should

Files in waiting: These are in your database, just like any other WP post is that you manually create.

Multi instances: Not needed. Look at the screenshot in the the original post again and you'll see there is a category drop down list. Simply choose the category you want to load articles into, select the zip file for that category, hit "Do It" and they're loaded into the category you had selected. Then choose the next category to load and repeat the process with the zip file for that one. Keep rinsing and repeating till all your categories are loaded up

Hi Al,

It's not mandatory no. You can cut and paste them into the provided area on the Plugin screen and the system can still handle the random time stamping for you.

This does take away most of the power of the program though. Using the zip files allows you to literally load hundreds of articles in seconds.

I use a free program called 7zip on my laptop. Using it I just select all the text files, right click and tell 7zip to stick them into a zip file, then it's ready to upload. Takes just seconds

Right next to the minimum and maximum time boxes are drop down lists. Choose:
Minutes
Hours
Days
Weeks

So yes you could do 36 days to 40 days if you want

So sorry I missed that, I'll have to work that into the sales letter and documentation.

Hi Steve,

Simple answer? Yes You'd have new posts publishing in each category throughout the day.

Now for the detail...

If you load 20 articles into Category1 and set the time range from 12-36 hours, you may get one post published per day in that category, or two. Because they could be as close as 12 hours apart, or as far as 36 hours apart.

Now if you then select Category2 and push the "Now" button, minimum and maximum to 12-36, and upload 20 articles to that category, then that one will ALSO get 1-2 posts per day. So your blog could have 2-4 daily at this point, 1-2 for each category.

Each time you load articles to a new category, then the time/date stamps are created based on existing content in that same category. It doesn't matter what's in other categories you might have

Quick update before I go to bed everyone: I've just been informed that a hosting company named "ehostpro" does not allow the PHP Zip functionality on their servers. So if you use that company you will get an error when you try to upload your zipped article files.

I want to make sure everyone is aware though: While this can happen with a few hosting companies it is quite rare these days. The zip functionality is usually turned on by default at most major hosting companies.

I've been using ZipPoster at Hostgator and Simplicity Hosting for several weeks myself with no problems.

Perhaps it's the version of WP I am using (2.6.1) but after activating I had no clue where to access the plug-in. I found it under 'settings' a location I don't normally look for plug-ins since most of them show up under 'manage.' I think you should consider adding a line or two into the PDF letting people know where to find the plug-in after it's activated.

nordhaus: I honestly don't know. Since standard "a href" links work though, then I wouldn't be surprised to see images work too. I don't know what codes are used to embed YouTube though, so I have no idea. If you decide to try it, please report back and let us know how it went!

So what I did was design an article on Front Page, with links and pictures. then I copied the html between the <body> tags and it in a text file.

In this article I bolded paragraph heading, added adsense with text to wrap around it. I also added the more function for wordpress and added video. It is html

I then used the zipposter and loaded that article

worked great

Right now I have to copy and paste one article at a time. Currently I cannot browse my hard drive and upload a plain text file article nor a zipped file.

Hey Steve,

Can you send me the details in PM or via my website contact form? I need to know if you're getting any kind of error message when you try to upload the zip. Also remember as it says in the manual that in most cases the zip can't be larger than 2 MB in size. If yours is larger than that it could explain the problem.

The problem I've had with other WP posters have been that they are either not compatible with WP 2.5.1 or they post into the text area instead of the html area - so when I add tags (for example for adsense) - the tag shows up as text not as Adsense ads.
Is yours different?

Hi Schhim,

This works with version 2.5 and up. I use it primarily on 2.6 and it MIGHT actually work on 2.3 as well but I haven't tested it.

As for the posting issue: This doesn't actually use the WordPress editor screen or tools. So it doesn't matter what you have that set to for your manual posting, this tool will not make a mess of one or the other.

As others have verified here already, you can put html code, adsense, and other stuff into your plain text files, and they show up in WordPress exactly as they should.

Update: A few people have discovered that the zip uploading does not work on their servers. This causes an error when you try to upload, but in at least one case the hosting company appears to have errors suppressed, so there's no indication of a problem but nothing is posted.

Here's what the error usually looks like:
"Fatal error: Call to undefined function zip_open() in /full/server/path/wp-content/plugins/ZipPoster.php on line 122"

I'm creating a list of hosts anyone has encountered problems with, and will add these to the support documentation as I get them. In most cases all you have to do is ask their technical support to enable PHP Zip upload functionality, then everything is fine.

I have looked at a number of these in the past and they have never quite lived up to expectations. However, what Kathy has created was just so simple to install and get running and the whole process of uploading articles was incredibly smooth.

I can see this being a staple part of my blog management for a long time to come.

Most marketers are familiar with the copywriting phrase "Quickly and Easily".

Well, this perfectly describes Kathy's plug-in, and... it has the added advantage of being true!

Zip-Poster is extremely easy to use. And fast.

I've tried this plug-in on my hostgator blogs. It works and it's slick.

I should mention that we are having issues with a different hosting company, but Kathy has been very quick to respond and troubleshoot this.

If you want a "set and forget" technique for posting your articles, this is it.
