Q: Does the plugin work on mobile devices?
A: NO. And here's why: auto-play for videos does not work on mobile devices!

1. On iOS this function is disabled (for all devices, including iPad). Playing a video requires that the user initiates playback. Take a look:

2. I have tested the plugin on 4 Android browsers: the default one (Internet), Chrome, Firefox and Opera Mobile. The result was the same: auto-play did not work in ALL browsers.

The "WOW" effect generated by the plugin is generated mainly by the auto-playing video. You cannot have that on mobile devices so the users will see only the video thumbnail. The same thing happens now if you have not set a custom background image, but without loading the video...

Looks great but there seems to be a problem with the way the plugin handles the videos since the videos don't play smoothly, they play and then stop. When I watch the video on YT is plays fine, so is not my connection. This needs to be taken care of before releasing to the product since is the main feature of the plugin.

I don't know if my plugin is superior, but it is different for sure...

For the WP Video Optin Plugin you need your own video (in at least 2 file formats if you want to work on the main browsers)...

For the WP Tube Squeeze plugin you go to Youtube, find a video that you will like to add and paste the URL in the provided form... And you don't have to worry about browser compatibility...

And remember, there are millions of videos on Youtube...

About playback issues: that's only an internet connection problem...

I don't know what "an extremely fast Internet connection" means for you (I have a 20 Mbps connection and that's kinda slow for my taste ), but the problems you described are caused only by a slow connection...

The video is loaded using the Youtube API, and Youtube will use the video quality that is the best for you; from my tests on a 1600x900 screen resolution display, I've noticed that they deliver the 480 or the 720 video (if available)...

This is almost like when you play a video in full screen...

And yes, if the customer will have a very slow connection, there will be playback issues, but you cannot avoid this...

This kind of problems are always caused by a slow internet connection...

When you watch the video on Youtube, the video dimensions are smaller that when you use it as background, so the video is loaded with a lower quality, usually 360...

When you use the video as background is almost like when you play a video in full screen, so it needs a higher quality - usually 480 or 720 (if available)...

Yes, I know "Blind Selling" is popular with Sellers. Buyers hate it. Anyone in their right mind will want the Developers Licence. Is it REALLY that difficult to tell me the FULL price for what I want?

As far as I know, when you load a Facebook page in a mobile browser you are automatically redirected to m.facebook.com and you can only access the timeline and the photos

On Android you can ask for the desktop version, but the video is disabled on mobile pages anyway (read the main thread for details).

I am sure its something simple.

when opening the page the title tag seems to keep the <title> tag for some reason

I am using SEO Yoast and tried a few different ones but still shows this as the <title> Is there a way to get rid of this.

You can add a background image to your page - and you can do that on the plugin panel on your page.

The video is shown ONLY if you add the Youtube link or ID in the provided form. If there is no video, the background image will be shown.

And, if you add a single full screen background image, you'll get a nice "guru-style" page, LIKE THIS ONE

I don't have a demo page ready right now, but I can set up one if you really want...

Sorry, but NO, it does not work with playlists. The plugin does one thing well.

It takes a single video from YouTube and injects it as a full-screen background on the page.

It scales the video, offsets the video and provides some basic controls for the video.

That's it.

This is a Wordpress plugin.

The plugin does not interfere with your current blog content; it is using a custom page template and it works with normal WordPress pages, so you can create unlimited pages.

You can create pages using other page templates, no matter if they are loaded by your theme or by another plugin...

And yes, you can have only some text on your page, You can also choose the transparency level for your page. And you can do a lot of other things with your page...

The optin box is show only if you add a shortcode to your page, so you can have a page without it.

To be safe, I'm going to assume that ALL of my customers will experience this stop/start effect. Conversions are too important to me, plus this factor would make it impossible to split-test accurately.

That said, when you look at the "Web Page Demo" above (WP Tube Squeeze Demo – Test Blog):
1. How long does it take to load?
2. Since the video is a series of nature clips, if you turn the sound off, does it seem like a series of slides that occasionally move? In other words, would it still be visually interesting even though it starts and stops from time to time?
3. Do you think that a high def video of power point slides with graphics and text (no sound) would look good using this plugin?
4. Paul, how does this plugin affect the site load time?

PS. I don't experience the stop/start as I am on a very fast network. My first reaction was to stay on the page longer. Although the videos with lyrics distracted me away from the optin box message, the instrumental music + nature scenes tended to lower my skepticism shield as I watched. Interesting.

Now that I think about it, for only 12 bucks, it might be worth trying to test conversions after all.

I also want this to work well so that I can buy it but I am concerned as to what percentage of the people in the US will actually experience smooth video. The US does not rate very good when compared to the delivered internet speeds of many other countries.

According to speedtest.net the rolling mean speed for the past 30 days in the United States is 15.32 Mb/s and I have a feeling many that speed test are "speed freaks" so it's quite likely that a large portion of the casual consumers will be running at much lower connection speeds. Since this product needs a fairly high rez video to be effective it is a concern for sure as a stuttering experience is not optimal by any stretch of the imagination.

That said, today I am running around 36.06 Mb/s and on Firefox 17.01 everything has loaded quickly and looked super smooth all day long and I have checked all of the videos multiple times.

Unfortunately when I came back tonight to make my purchase I took a look with IE and all of the videos are throwing javascript errors before they run. Hopefully it is something that is not set up properly or is easily correctable.

Guys, I just have to say I'm blown away by what this plugin can create. I made sure I was at my computer at 8am EST today to be one of the first to purchase this WSO. Then I went to work creating my first squeeze page using this phenomenal product.

I don't know if I'm allowed to post links here but this is just to show you all what you can do with this... Beach Life is my first project. When I finished I sent it to my business partner to take a look. He had no idea what I was up to. His response was simply, "That is Super SEXY!"

And just so you know, I used a YouTube video that defaults to 480p (I think) and is 11 minutes long. I have loaded this in Firefox and Chrome and I don't see any lagging or start/stop issues. I even cleared my cache first to see how long it would take to load. The first time took about 8 seconds with a 15Mb Internet connection. Yeah that's a little long maybe but when the visitor does see it they will forget that it took that long.

There's only one thing I can see that I wish was improved. I would like to be able to use the integrated opt in form Styles but upload my own Submit button image. Other than that I am super pleased with my purchase and ready to get started on my 2nd project immediately.

FWIW the preview image is tiling when waiting for the video to load though...I am at 1680x1050 and IE9 on this screenshot of your page.

I don't actually have a preview or background image uploaded and it's not tiling like that for me with Firefox or Chrome. I have a feeling that has something to do with how the plugin uses a thumbnail of the video for the background image for mobile viewing. For some reason it's messing up the IE9 display. That's a bug and should be brought to Paul's attention.

Try it with Firefox or Chrome.
