Q1. Does it work with autoposting plugins other than WP Robot?

Not yet, at the moment we have support for WP Robot only.

However we also plan to add support for other autoposting plugins as we know different plugins are personal favorites for different people.

You get lifetime updates with this WSO, so as we integrate support for new plugins you'll get those capabilities as part of your upgrades.

We want to hear from you on which plugins you'd like to see support added for, so we can choose the one everyone wants the most to add support for first.

Q2. Does it have 90 day cookies / cart system?

Not yet, however we're considering integrating a cart system that would give you access to 90 day cookies.

All updates are part of your free lifetime updates.

Q3. Can reviews and ratings be pulled in from Amazon?

Amazon used to let you pull reviews in from their site so you could post them as comments, but they stopped allowing that.

WP Robot does offer a template tag that will let you show the reviews in an iframe, so if you want to use that you can add the template tag in at the bottom of the Amazon Module Template.

However, I feel it looks a bit janky so I didn't include reviews in an iframe by default and left it as optional if you wanted to include it via WP Robot.

It's always best to write your own reviews, as it's the most authentic way to go and you'll get the best results.

However, if you don't own a particular product and can't buy it, I also don't see anything wrong with writing a type of "editorial" where you read up on the general consensus from users of a particular product and tell people what you found.

You would just need to make it clear what you were doing by quoting your sources and citing where you got information, and being open in your article that you're not reviewing yourself, rather you're compiling information from several other people's reviews.

I know some people will suggest you just rip reviews from other sites, or fake them, but in my opinion that is bad advice that will only land you in hot water.

In my opinion, and my experience, being honest with people and providing them with information in the most authentic and helpful way possible is the best way to get great results.




UPDATE: Auto Disclosure and Cool TimeStamp Display

Hey guys,

We've been working away on some improvements since launching, thanks to some great feedback from our new Members.

You can grab an updated version by following the instructions above to gain access to your Member Dash.

So we've had a few little things that needed fixing, and we've also added in some cool new features to help you automatically adhere with TOS with no extra effort on your part.

We have the disclosure statement, as well as the info about content having come from amazon, to the bottom left of the footer.



You can override this content by adding a widget to the Footer Two Left location if you choose, but otherwise the content will display there by default.

And we have also added a cool way of handling display of the notice saying when the price was retrieved - we made it a selling point!

Instead of a boring old plain text "fine print" type of thing, we've added a little clock next to the prices:



When hovered over, this clock will say:



Amazon requires a "Details" link, so we display it in such a way that it's not sticking out right near your main button.

The details link, when clicked, displays Amazon's required statement in a colorbox overlay like this:

Re. 90 day cookies, the way they work is if you have a cart system integrated directly into your site. The customer adds a product to the cart on your site, and then checks out via Amazon.

At the moment we're just using direct affiliate links from the Buy Button to Amazon.

However adding a cart system in is something we hope to do at some point in the future with WP Amazillionaire, and as part of this WSO you get access to free updates for life.

Note, we also plan to add support for other autoposting plugins as we know different plugins are personal favorites for different people.

So there's lots more planned, and you'll get it all for free on top of everything you see above!

Kezz, i think it will work.. cause the plugin is very flexible.. i just need the code on where to place {price} {listprice} etc... it should work.. i bought a theme that was somewhat use robot and i was able to make it work with just the codes.. if you can provide it then you got an extra plugin working.. will let you know

Thanks DocMurdock! We were chatting a little about plugins and I thought I'd share the info.

You're right, I did delete that wretched "Hello Dolly" plugin from the default. I could have included deleting that in the video, but I figured everybody probably already does that anyway.

Other plugins I'd recommend are Yoast's WordPress SEO plugin, TinyMCE Advanced and BulletProof Security. I also use a selection of other security & spam blocking plugins.

All of these things are largely down to personal preference though which is why I didn't include them in the video.

I did include Quick Cache in the video because with a site that's interacting with Amazon you really want to have a good caching plugin, and I know that the caching period of that plugin is less than 24 hours so it's in keeping with Amazon's TOS.

With other caching plugins you might have to be a bit careful with how long you set the cache expiry for. But with Quick Cache you're all good out of the box, so that makes it a very nice "no fuss" plugin to go with this theme.

I've got the Enterprise membership and wanted to say publicly that you really are a stand up person when it comes to support and really excellent products. That's becoming a rare thing these days. Give yourself a pat on the back!

I never got into building Amazon sites, but I think I will now.

One question. I've got plans in a few months to put some products of my own
on Amazon. Is there an easy integration with putting my stuff into this theme
as opposed to being an building affiliate sites?

Sure thing, it would be super easy. I'd suggest just going to your own page on Amazon when your product is live, then hitting your WP Amazillionaire Bookmarklet button.

This will grab all the info from your product page and take it straight to your site.

You can then hit the "Edit Post" button and replace the affiliate link with a direct link to the product.

FYI you can also manually create posts and use them to promote any product, not just Amazon. All you need to do is fill in the "Product Settings" panel with the appropriate info.

And further, you can sell any of your own products too. Just put a PayPal, or other third party payment processor, link into a product instead of an affiliate link.

The theme is focused on Amazon, but you can also use it for a whole lot more.

Hi, I've purchased heaps of crappy Amazon themes over the past 12 months and I have to say that this is like no other I've seen. Especially the Bookmarklet button which is a brilliant idea. This is definitely a quality product, something that I've yet to find. A lot of other themes rely on customers buying them, finding all the bugs in the untested product, and then the developers try and fix them, if they can be bothered. But it's obvious that a lot of work has gone into the development of this. Thanks so much Kez. A happy customer : )

Please make sure you're working with WP 3.4 or higher as that's when the Theme Customizer was introduced.

So I've bought this and it is great. Can't wait to really dig in.

One question..do you see any problem buying one main domain name and then creating several sub domains for different niches? I'd simply install a new version of Wordpress and the plugin on each of the sub domains.

Dogproducts.mysite.com
Facecream.mysite.com

Etc....

This way I could REALLY pump out a ton of sites without having to buy a ton of domains. Once you play with this plugin and get familiar with it, you can seriously crank these sites out.

My concern would be that subdomains do not rank well, but I have never tried.

Thanks for joining us!

Functionally, there's nothing at all to prevent you from setting up a heap of subdomains and running your sites on those.

If you're looking to do that to get familiar with the theme, as you said, then I see nothing to stop you.

However, it does tend to be quite a bit harder to get traffic to subdomains than top level domains, so for that reason I'd suggesting getting into sites on regular domains as soon as you're able.

I've been reading about ranking subdomains and there are different opinions. Most people however believe that content, relevance, on and off page seo, etc...are what really matters. Just treat them exactly like a regular domain name and you are good to go.

A quick search for "do subdomains rank" brings up some interesting stuff.

I am a huge fan of all your themes, fellow Kangaroo Kezz!

I am lucky enough to have a charter membership to PlanetStarta, which has paid for itself many times over with the excellent local sites I've been able to build for my clients

And now a totally awesome Amazon theme to add to the collection.

I'm building out a site right now with it, and am very impressed, as should anyone watching the 5-minue video would be!

I love that it has built-in posting of products, but I do have to ask - apart from WP Robot, does it support posts created by WP Social Zon?

I'd prefer to use WP Social Zon, as it automatically build backlinks for the posts it generates...

Right now we just support WP Robot, but we're basically taking votes from everyone on which plugins they'd like to see support added for next. Ultimately, we'd like to support every plugin that people are into.
