I just got this and it works better at finding info than a popular piece of software I picked up a month or so ago for a lot more money.

My high speed is down today and even on dial up I had to turn off the software because it was pulling in so much information.

you have. I've been around the forum long enough to see great programs

away free. It would be no big deal if it was a useless program, but this is not.

To your credit this is a "giveaway" at a measly $7. I echo John's statement
of the price too low, even for a WSO.

That will not make this program less useful. It's obvious this utility is valuable, even under that kind of circumstances. At the end, the regular people will feel the benefit whoever sells it...

Two of us over in Rich-Jerks.com, Noah Fleming's site, have been having trouble with your software. Can you help?

It does not stop at 100. It sometimes does not post anything despite hitting scores of sites. Sometimes with the same topic it will post one time, and then not another. It goes into loops that have to be stopped via task manager.

Unfortunately there are no instructions or help, so I can't see what, if anything I am doing wrong. When it runs OK, it seems great, but I would like it to be more stable.

I am running XP Media (Pro in disguise) on a Toshiba 200.

This tool is very effective in downloading heaps of raw research material.

However, I'd like to see a STOP button that is able to interrupt and cancel (and save what has already been gathered) the download procedure - especially when visual monitoring suggests enough material has already been collected. It would also be helpful to be able to nominate the number of extracts that it provides - eg, 50 - whereas at the moment it seems to have a number of fixed settings such as: Retrieve 100 extracts, and GO. What it does, it does well. With a few refinements, it would be exceptional.

Is an upgrade to be expected soon?

It does have a stop button. The stop button doesn't appear until you click the go button. The stop button is right besides it, it's a red X sign.

I've had a couple of people asking for this setting, about the number of sites it visits, I'll add that setting very soon.

Chris, the "main topic" field will get searched on Google with quotes and the "subtopic" without the quotes (and a space between them, meaning the terms should be close). Hope that answers your question.

The "main topic" will be the beginning of the returning paragraph in most cases (see the screen shot, every piece of text begins with "siamese cats"). Meaning ALWAYS ENTER A READABLE PHRASE AS THE MAIN TOPIC.

You could manually enter the quote in the subtopic field if you want to force the program to return the results with that exact phrase somewhere on the page. But I recommend to use the program like I described it here.

So to summarize, the main topic should be a readable phrase. If a phrase is obscure, try making a new "main topic"&"subtopic" combination. The program skips the pages with not much text in what it recognizes as article format. So, don't be surprised if you see like 7 results on Google and the program returns none. New Version

All the customers will be getting the new version. The changes:

-The problems that Gren has reported - fixed
-I mistakenly said the program returns 100 results, while the program actually returns 1000 results if you don't stop it. That is the maximum number of results returned by Google for a search phrase
-You can now choose the number of Google results the program should visit.
-The program now replaces the apostrophe character used by Word with the character accepted by articles directories ('). This makes the piece of text more article directory ready.
-Several minor improvements to make the results better!

I love the new version. I've tried it on a variety of keywords and it performs very well.

I especially like that I can also receive the source links so that I know the context of the original article and can follow the link to see the full article if I want.

Pressing the "Clipboard Button" saves the full download and I can then paste it into a text editor as a text file for future use.

Getting paragraphs from many sources is not only helpful research for preparing full articles but also makes it easy to prepare shorter blog posts.
