Yes you can change icon to any icon you want. It's all explained in the manual. You can use standalone version for vBulletin forum.

Great question. One click mobile app is only for wordpress, this one works for both wordpress and html sites. Also, this one allows you to customize the look and feel of the popup to match the theme of your site. In addition, this one supports Blackberry in addition to Android and Apple. But the true game changer is that with this you can do push notification once the app is installed - you can specify any link or offer you want. Hope this helps.

Can you show some example with the Android phone, I brought another program just like this one and it said it do androids, and I was very disappointed with their product. Most of the cell phones are Androids phone, so could please give us sample of android phone.

Question - if the website isn't mobile optimized will this app make their page look good on the iphone etc or will the site need to be optimized? i.e. is this turning a website into an app or is it a bookmark that looks like an app because it has an app icon?

This begs the question of why someone would want to add your website to his apps/icons on his phone. There'd need to be a good reason why someone would want or need to do that.

Maybe someone needs to brainstorm other uses for this. Personally I've yet to create a website that someone really needs to have instant access to. Others may have such a website, unfortunately I don't.

Great question. If the site is not mobile optimized, the software will simply optimize it in the sense that it will enlarge the page so the words become visible. However, for true mobile optimization, you will need custom coding.

Well, if your website is say, a local offline business like a restaurant, then it is likely that people would want to add your site to home screen for convenience.

No it won't, unless you specifically want the popup to appear to display your own message or link.

Please elaborate on which kinds of mobile-optimized WP installs the plugin functions. There are WP mobile themes (themes specifically for mobile sites). There are responsive themes (themes for desktop-optimized sites which resize downwards for mobile sites). There are plugins for WP installs which create mobile sites. Will your plugin work with all 3 types of WP installs? Specifically, will it work with the plugin install, namely EZMobileSite Generator plugin?
Also, is there any way to disable the popup which appears once the app is installed on a viewer's smartphone. It's a great idea if the site is offering a daily special or a coupon, but if nothing specific is being offered, who needs the extra step of clicking a pop-up in order to enter the site!

The plugin is designed to work with any theme, so I don't see why it won't.

Yes it is off by default once the app is installed. But you can choose to display it at any time if you have a special offer or link you want your visitors to go to.

I purchased a similar product. It works fine for iPhones, but there is an issue with Androids. My older Android HTC does not have menu structure that allows this to work. I checked another Android that was over a year old and found a similar problem. Now my wife's newer Samsung Android does have a menu structure that this will work. I'm guessing this solution would likely have problems with older Androids as well.

John, in our testing, iPhones work the best, as you say. But you are right that in certain models, the menu structure can be an issue especially in older Android models.

My feeling is that there should not be a conflict. However, I haven't tested the EZMSG plugin so I cannot say for sure. This plugin does not modify the theme in any way, which is why I say I don't think there's an issue.

This is a quick and handy bookmark creator. Which can be very useful in many instances. It sure beats requesting your customer to read instructions on how to create the "app" themselves as I had to do it the past.

Yes you are right. The app owner can't 'push' messages at any time, the user does need to visit the site via the app, in order to get the popup with the message.

Bravo! Someone who finally gets it - apps are not the end all of mobile and as you have so eloquently pointed out, "Why do I need your app on my phone?"

I've seen so many businesses rushing to the apps Nirvana and it makes me wonder.

I recently spoke with a local business in my area who has been high on the app solution for some time now. When I asked him just what the reason was that he needed an 'app' and about what did he pay for it, his reply was "We can do 'Push' notifications with it and we spent around $1500".

I almost fell out of the booth and spilled my soda - Wow. I could have set him up with a simple 3 page mobile site and an SMS coupon application for about 1/3 of what he paid.

I wonder how many business people really understand... I don't need your app on my already crowded phone and I don't seriously think you need an app to order a pizza from a mobile phone.

Count me in on this product - Hey, if they want to throw a a grand at an app solution, who am I to stand in their way?

I'll sell these for $999 a pop and make a killing!!

1) It is supposed to do "push notifications", but the answer to a previous question
seem to indicate that the user has to clink on their screen icon, without any
prompting, to open the app in order to see the pop-up. Is there a way to send
them an actual "notification" that prompts them to open the app, or something
similar, otherwise it isn't really a "push notification", or am I misunderstanding?

2) Changing the pop-up offer for WP sites would be simple through the plug-in,
but since 80% of business sites are html, how does our client go about
changing the pop-up offer for those html based sites?
If it means changing the html "head" code that was installed, that's too
complicated a process for them to undertake and too time consuming for us
to do for them say every week without changing them a fee that would very
likely be cost prohibitive to the client, correct?

From what I'm getting from the sales copy, it is NOT an app but indeed a form of "glorified bookmark" - which is still pretty good, and an interesting sell (or free "foot-in-the-door" introduction) to those businesses that already have a mobile site.

What happens if it is NOT on the home page?
Will the site be featured in the apps section or just be in the bookmarks?


Will it replace an icon on the home page if it's full already?

My home page is crowded and I wouldn't place anything else on it so I wonder what happens in this case.
