I bought this product, and the upsell. (There's irony in this: I bought a product about getting reviews... even though the product wasn't sent to me to review. And -- icing on the cake -- here I am, reviewing it. )

I know someone who'd received a beta copy of the software, and he raved about it. And, as if that wasn't enough, the sales video confirmed everything he'd said.

So far, I've only had time to browse through the PDFs. Looking at the well-annotated screenshots, this product is every bit as good as I'd hoped. Lots of good bells & whistles.

I'm completing another book today, so I won't have time to actually test the software, but I'm pretty confident this is a must-own product if you're writing books.

Okay, my full review! THIS PRODUCT IS GENIUS! I've gotten two responses already to send my book to people. I bought this product at 11:59. That's 1 hour and 10 minutes. 1 hour and 10 minutes and I have two people asking for copies of my book.

Do I know if I'll get reviews from them? No, I don't.

Does this product work like a dream? Yes it does.

Is it one of the best investments you can buy if you're publishing on kindl? Yes It Is!

I've bought major courses from 200 dollars to 1,000 dollars and I don't believe i will get half the value that I will from this product at 17 dollars. I would gladly pay 10 times that amount for this and I'm quite certain it would still be worth it.

Reviews are king! I had two books go out on free giveaway, I got 4 reviews for 1 and 0 for the other, I've gotten 35 sales and 3 borrows on one. 1 sale on the other, and they only had about 150 download difference between them. Reviews matter. The more reviews you have, positive or negative (as long as the positive out weigh the negative) you're going to have better chances at sales.

It took seconds to start the process and get everything up and active. I can't tell you what the results will be. What I can tell you is that this is the most efficient product for reviews I have ever come across and anyone who hopes to make more than 17 dollars on Kindle would be a fool not to buy this product right now!

Also I really like how Amazon-buyer-centric it is, focusing on people actually buying and reviewing on Amazon, the same people that will lead to – more buyers!

The demo video and even the instructional video don’t show you the depth of options you get when you start using Publishers Review Accelerator

– the filters are really in depth and useful, and with a lot of results you get to see the reviewers’ review without even going to Amazon.

Getting reviews can be a pain in the butt, and it certainly takes a lot of time to get all of them in order. It's not much of an issue when it comes to one or two reviews, but try getting all of your reviews together for a book launch and you're in for a big headache! Amy and Debbie were kind enough to allow me a review copy of Publisher's Review Accelerator, so here is a slightly edited version of my blog review. I'm sorry that forum rules don't allow me to link to this directly.

<<Publisher's Review Accelerator is a new launch from writers and software developers Amy Harrop and Deborah Drum.

I have reviewed Debbbie and Amy's work on my blog before, most recently Book Trailer Treasure Map, their multimedia guide to creating video book trailers (still available for under $10, incidentally). I've always found their products good value for money, and customer service first class.

Publisher's Review Accelerator is a tool enabling self-publishing authors and publishers to quickly find and contact potential reviewers on Amazon. It works on both Windows PC and Mac OS X (just take care to download the correct version!).

All authors know that getting reviews is crucial to a book or e-book's success. What PRA does is automate the process of finding reviewers via the Amazon website. It does this by performing an initial keyword search for a word or words relevant to your niche. Books in that niche are then listed, and you can choose any titles that have a decent number of reviews attached to them (this is shown on the search page).

For each such title, you can set the software to search for those reviewers who have included contact details (an email address or a website). You can then export any or all of these individuals' details to a spreadsheet, and contact them to see if they would be interested in a free copy of your book in exchange for a review.

Debbie and Amy were kind enough to allow me a review copy of Publisher's Review Accelerator, so here's what I thought of it...

First of all, the process of downloading and installing the software was very straightforward. You have to enter a licence key to activate the software, which is on the Thank You page after your payment has been processed. Once that is done, you are all set to start using the software.

I found Publisher's Review Accelerator pleasingly straightforward and intuitive to use. There is, however, a short video you should watch first, which sets out everything you need to know.

There is also a PDF file that walks you through using the software for the first time, with plenty of screengrabs to ensure that everything is crystal clear. With all this guidance, I can't imagine that many people will need to to contact the vendors' help desk (though this is available if required).

I tried using the software with a few different keywords, and it worked exactly as shown in the video.

One thing I did notice is that only a small minority of reviewers actually leave contact details - between 5 and 10 percent seems typical. This is one area where PRA really does save you a lot of time and effort that would otherwise be expended clicking through to a reviewer's profile page, establishing they haven't left any contact details, and moving on to the next.

You can check out the personal profiles of all the reviewers who have left contact details and see what they say about themselves. If they sound like potential reviewers for your book, you can add them to a shortlist. This can then be exported as a CSV (comma separated values) file, which can be opened in a spreadsheet using a program such as Microsoft Excel. It's then down to you to contact these people personally and ask if they would like to review your book.

The authors provide help with this as well. You also get a quite detailed (14-page) PDF on the subject of how to ask for book reviews. This covers approaching potential reviewers by email (message template included) and how to get your book to them electronically. There are various ways of doing this, all with their own pros and cons, and Debbie and Amy set out the main options. They also recommend quite a clever method which involves taking advantage of one aspect of listing your Kindle e-book on KDP Select.

Overall, I thought Publisher's Review Accelerator was a neat, well designed application that does exactly what it promises on the sales page. If you're a self-publisher, and especially if you have several titles, it can save you a lot of time and effort identifying potential reviewers.

My one slight reservation is that currently it only works with Amazon.com. Of course, if you live outside the States, there is still nothing to stop you contacting American reviewers. However, it might be nice if other Amazon stores - Amazon UK in particular - were also included in future. I gather that buyers of PRA will receive updates to the software automatically (and free of charge), so hopefully this feature may be in the pipeline.

Finally, I should mention that Publisher's Review Accelerator is currently available at an introductory price of just $17. However, Debbie tells me that the price will definitely be going up soon, so if you want their best value deal it's well worth ordering now." >>

Having self published a few books at Amazon, I truly understand the importance of reviews. This sounds like a great product, but I do have one reservation.

If I, or anyone publish Ebooks in one niche or area, would the reviewers the software identifies soon become redundant and turned off by my continued request for reviews?

It just seems that I would be going back to the well a little too often. Am I missing something here?
