Looks really interesting but I'm curious to know how this is different than squidaholic-a free tool? I understand with squidaholic you have to have the url of the lens that you are checking traffic on, but that's easy to get when it pops up on the first page of Google.

I guess I'm not seeing the benefit. And it could be because it's Friday and I'm tired :-)

The difference is that SquidMagic does it automatically (otherwise, could take ages).

The Process:

- The software collects lenses for a keyword that you want to target, then...

- Gets the traffic stats for each one of them and ...

- If it can determine the keyword that the lens is also trying to target, it shows you if the lens is getting a Google Top 10 for that target keyword.

Then you can quickly analyze the niche (and where may be the traffic coming from for Squidoo lenses with big traffic).

Everything with just 2 clicks (otherwise, it could take ages to get a global idea of all this)

Hi guys I am new to IM and thought that as my first venture I would try out Squidoo. It seems like a good place to start with really only time invested plus Squidmagic and STS review that I just purchased.

Anyway, my question is. for this tool, I do a search, find a keyword that dominates and then just add a word to that keyword phrase and build a lense similar to the existing lense? Obviously write my own content but if I am going to write top 10 of anything I am sure at least half will be the same as another persons top 10.

Thanks for writing. The first thing that SquidMagic will do for you is to give you a quick overview of the traffic that other lenses are getting on any niche. At that point, your mind will be ready to say "No" to targeting that niche with a Squidoo Lens (if other lenses are getting little or no traffic, probably due to competition), or "Yes", if you see that different lenses are making traffic with it.

And if you find lenses with good traffic, you'll probably want to know where that traffic may be coming from. Now, the name of the lens usually (not always) talks about the keyword that the lens is trying to target.

Example: squidoo.com/java_programming_tutorials

In this case, we can initially suppose that the traffic is coming through that keyword (java programming tutorials) and other related. To help you get an idea of this, the software tries to extract the keyword from the lens (if possible) and will show you if the lens is getting a google top 10 for that keyword so you get feedback on where's the traffic coming from.

Please consider this extra tool as reference, as sometimes someone can make a squidoo lens like squidoo.com/java_programming_tutorials_that i love but that doesn't mean that the traffic is coming from a keyword like "java programming tutorials that i love".

In this case (if the lens has traffic), you can remove the aggregated words ("that i love") and see it the lens is getting traffic for "java programming tutorials". Tip: you can find info about this this on the user manual.

Also take some time to study the Squidoo lens. If it looks weak, make a better one.

If you find a mention to YouTube (or any other site) in this thread, it's because you can use it as an additional way to target keywords where you find lenses that are getting good traffic with squidoo. Hope this clarifies.

Then that is a sure way to know that by targeting similar keywords you build your squidoo lens with and get similar traffic (and sales). But how can you be sure that those lenses have not had more work done to rank better like link building etc. You can't arbitrarily conclude that all of these lens rank that well just because of the keywords having little competition as that seems to be what you are assuming.

Thanks for writing. In general when you make a quick research you can get a general idea on how competitive the niche may be. If just a few number of lenses are getting traffic, it may be a sign that the niche may be too competitive for a Squidoo lens. And the opposite it's also true.

This will give you a quick idea of everything and of course, if you want you can then analyze some site in particular before starting a campaign (lens content or backlinks for example) but generally speaking if you see that many lenses are getting traffic on a niche, that usually talks about less competition for a SQ lens.

Thanks for writing. The software is search engine friendly and doesn't query Google a lot (it makes random pauses between queries + it allows you to scan Google Top 10 Ranks only for lenses with a min. number of lenses - which is recommended to use). Tip: In the of an eventual google ban, they are usually gone within 12/24 hs.

Besides this, we had an update scheduled for today (coming in hs), to make it even more SE friendly.

Yeah, I just purchased this. It's pretty darn good. I would like the ability to pull more then 20 results though. And I noticed some are duplicates. Can you have a button or something that says remove dups?

The OTO helps you to create review articles for affiliate products.

The oto page will give you more details about it but basically, this software helps you to create those articles in 2 steps:

Step 1: Quick intro of a problem / situation or something that your audience is looking for.
Here, the software gives you quick content ideas (not paragraphs) from the web, that you can pick with a double click to build that intro.

It also has an extra feature called "definitions builder", a tool that appears for some keywords (like some related to health problems etc) and that works by picking content from 2 or 3 columns.

Step 2: Product Review.
Here, the software builds a review around some info you provide (fill in the blanks) for a product / service that will help to your audience.

This review will be always different (software uses different variations) and as the info you provide in the fill-in-the-blanks grid will be different for each product, your review will be always unique.
