How to stop cats using your garden as a litter tray is a common problem that most gardeners face at some time. This is especially a problem if you are not a cat owner yourself.

There are several methods that people have used with varying results. It is more a matter of trial and error with these methods as all cats like or dislike different smells.

Here are some ideas to get you started.

1. Cats are supposes to dislike citrus smells as they have a keen sense of smell. Some people scatter small pieces of lemon or orange peel on the flowerbeds to keep cats away. It can be a bit unsightly but if it keeps the cats away then you've resolved your problem.

Another way of doing it is to get a sprayer and put a mix of orange and lemon in it and spray around the garden.
