Hello Ayaw, How "technologically advanced" you have to be to install and/or use this script? I am tempted but..., unless you are providing some instructions with it, most likely will end in the closet. Thanks for your prompt response, Efren |

Efren, Not technologically advanced at all! This script is EXTREMELY EASY to install and use, and Ayaw is very good about help. Also, I think there are a couple of us buyers who can give you some basic advice about it. There is a help.html file included in the files that tell you pretty much what you need to know. I am a new user of it, but you can PM me also if you need. One tip I can give you is, how to easily find the Amazon ASINs (product IDs) so you can feature exactly the products you want to display on the "home page". Elliott |

Hi gang, this is a great script. Not only is it easy to install and setup, Ayaw more importantly went out of his way to give good support and answer any questions I have. And despite English not being his strengths too. Thanks again Ayaw. Regards, Tim |

Purchasers, when you set up your site(s) in Admin, you will want to selct "featured products", and you will need the ASINs (Amazon IDs) for the exact products you want to display..... So, how do you find the ASINs? Here is a quick and easy tool you can use, from another site- http://www.associateeasy.com/storeOwner/admin/howtolocateasin.php Elliott |

Ayaw, I didn't create the tool, I found it using Google, so I'm just passing along the link to that page. It is on a site called "The Easy Store" that sells an Amazon store script and hosting. There may be other scripts available for looking up ASIN, I haven't looked. Elliott |

How do you avoid duplicate content problems with this program? Will I be able to use this on a Hostgator reseller account? Also will it work in folders instead of the root? Thanks |

Mine are on a Hostgator reseller account which needed no tweaks for this script. Of course it's possible my account is not configured exactly the same as yours, I don't know. Also, they are all on subdomains of one domain. Elliott |

Having install issues; all files are in a subdomain (Hostgator), modified the AES ht.access script as per installation instructions, and the following appears when I attempt to bring up the site: Fatal error: Call to undefined function sqlite_open() in /home/XXXXXX/public_html/mysubdomaintore/admin/functions.php on line 21 I know that there are 3 lines of code to enable sqlite, but where do I install them? I don't seem to find a file called ini.php . Feeling quite inadequate...help! Thanks, Steve |

Hi Steve, the php.ini file is on your home directory. If you can't find the file, just ask hostgator support to enable the sqlite. there are so many auto estore hosted using hostgator, basically they just add the 3 lines. all the best, ayaw |

Is there full instuctions for setting this up with Hostgator and will there be any complications? Also how hard is it for me to incorporate my own templates... Or are there already cool templates included? Woops more questions.. does it support all Amazon or only Amazon.com? Cheers. Woops and do we get the upgrade after you close this WSO? |

Hi Steve, Maybe I can help you. I had the same problem in Hostgator. There was no php.ini file in my home directory. So, I contacted Ayaw and he was so kind to put me on the right track. There are 2 directories in which the php.ini may be located: local or home. There was one in the local, but not in the home directory. So, I chatted with Ayaw, and het told me to ask Hostgator to upload a php.ini file in my home directory. This means, if your username is 'widget' , then the php.ini should be put in : home/widget directory. Once the php.ini is in your home directory you can edit it with the 3 lines that are necessary to make the script work. Quote:
If you can't edit in your FTP program, you can download it via your FTP program, edit it in notepad, save, and re-upload it. This way the script should work. I hope this helps. I have a question too though. I have no experience with the Amazon AWS services. I tried to find the Amazon API, but I only find the Access Identifiers: *My Access Key ID and a Secret Key Somehow I think Amazon is changing something and I would like to ask if I will need to use the above keys instead of the API. I'm completely new to this. Can somebody help me? Thank you, | |

Getting pretty discouraged with the time and effort that this is taking..oh well... Steve |

@intrepeneur If you have any question, send me email or add my YM! at the first post of this thread. I will guide you until your site set up perfectly ![]() By now, Auto eStore only support Amazon.com @Steve The hostgator support always says that SQLite has been loaded, but the fact is in some server the SQLite is not enabled yet. We need the 3 lines added to php.ini to get SQLite works in hostgator ![]() @Rudy Thank you for your help... Yes, the API Key is the Access Key ID given. Yes, they are changing something, but don't worry, it's only a little changes ![]() @mrsforex I have around 20 sites with this |

Rudy and Ayaw: thanks to you both for your help. ![]() The problem was resolved by hostgator when I sent a follow up message requesting that they enable sqlite at my /home/username/ location and that they add the 3 lines of code to the php.ini script. In retrospect, I should have done this right away and would have saved myself time and frustration trying to locate the file on my own. (live and learn department!) Also, for the record, Hostgator was super, here's what I wrote them... I really appreciate both the help and the rapid response to my request for assistance. Hostgator is the best! Steve |

Hi, This looks like an amazing script to me. I have a question and 2 features to suggest. Question: Does it pull the description and pricing from Amazon (AWS) in real-time, or is it cached for a week, or is it static? Feature Suggestions: 1. Fully-featured Shopping Cart system 2. Coupon code entry system (I haven't quite used AWS, so I don't know if Amazon allows that) [So, maybe this feature suggestion doesn't make much sense] |

I have a Hostgator reseller account, and I uploaded the script directly without changing any files at all. it worked straightaway. So, for new buyers, I think it may be worthwhile to try this first, your script may work right out of the box. If it doesn't, then ask Hostgator support or Ayaw for help. Hostgator has more than one server, your particular account may not all be configured identically with others. Elliott |
